Thank you, David.

I have one more question for you. How do I install it from downloads?

In view of the problem someone  experienced, as an experiment  I  went onto another machine without Jarte.

I too found the enable screenreader copied to clipboard instruction did not work.

However the following did.

  1. Install Jarte
  2. Close Jaws and start NVDA
  3. Start Jarte, Jarte will announce screen reader mode.
  4. Close NVDA and start Jaws. Restart Jarte and it sticks in screenreader mode for Jaws  also now.
  5. .Now finally  with Jarte in focus use Jaws F2 and find settings centre for Jarte and create the profile. Type edit in the search box and then tab down to uncheck enhanced edit mode.
  6. The only other thing I  think is to install the office Add in pack to improve Jarte compliance with Office Documents.

This all seems to work nicely to get a free Jaws accessible Word Processor for now.

I have never used Google Docs precisely because of this problem but apparently checking on Google last week there are instructions for using Google docs offline. As far as I can see though this is certainly not the default and ironically you need to be online to make this setting change. So I imagine that if, for example, your Wi-Fi suddenly goes down you may indeed be locked out of all your documents.

Someone  who actually uses Google Docs may be able to comment definitely  on this though.

Hi, Ann,

This was such a great question. I know someone who needs a different wordprocessor until they can get MS Word again.

Someone suggested Google Docs. A month or two ago, I would not have recommended it. However, this was because I never had any luck with it. I was wondering, what if someone is not always near a WI-FI connection, will Google Docs still work, or would another program work better? I'm just curious.

Sincerely,

Jasmine

                Hi everyone,

With all the latest talk about Jarte, and how it may be going away eventually due to lack of development, I was wondering what other free word processors work well with Jaws? How about Open Office or Libre Office?

Any other suggestions?

It’s because the spell word command was used, insert number pad 5. If
you press the insert number 5 again, it should stop.

I too just tested with the latest Edge and after activating the login button I put in a name and password, and tabbed passed forgot password and landed on the submit button.

I even tried it with its Screen Reader Mode and it worked the same with or without that mode enabled.
It looks to me like they are trying their darndest to be accessible.

Hello to my fellow jaws 2021 subscribers.
In short with edge, how do I clear my cash and cookies?
For some weird reason I cannot access my bank account with edtge.
I can find the log in button.
But I then should be able to tab over juse once and see the submit button.
I can do this within IE 11, which is no longer supported.
But I can not do it within edge and also not within google crome as well.
The bank's address is as follows:

Are you on the newest version of Edge, the one that is Chromium based? I can access the Submit button right away. I hit the Login button, then type a pretend login and password. Tabbing once more takes me right to the Submit button. Obviously, I cannot log in, but it's there.
Using Windows 10 1904 with newest Edge and JAWS 2021.

But I'm not fullish enough to give my log in info. SMILES.
Any and all help to clear cash and cookies via edge and jaws will bee deeply appreciated.
Very Thankfully Yours,
Ron Kolesar
