Hi Everyone,

I downloaded JAWS 2021 from the link on the website several days ago. It’s on my desktop. And I thought it was working fine. Suddenly, I just happened to see that I’m running 2020 and not 2021. And when I click on 2021, it simply throws me back into 2020. Where’d I go wrong? How to fix?

Hi all:

When prompted to download the latest version of Adobe, is there a way to have Jaws announce the download progress? Tried to install it yesterday, but received no progress announcement.

Using Dell desktop, Windows7, and latest Jaws.

Sincerely,

The free macafee scanner would be okay, it won't prompt you to buy it.
The other box, the on-line scanner is probably a trial and should be avoided.  I also unchecked the Edge add-in.

Running Jaws 2021 on a win 10 20h2 system. When I installed jaws 2021 I migrated my settings from version 2020.
I just did a tadem with another user that was trying to help make a setting change and we discovered that his settings and my settings are not the same. Seems that my copy is missing some categories or options to work with. Has anyone else experienced this issue?

Hi Jason,

After poking around a bit, I think I will just pay for the writage. It is so much simpler than any other options I've found so far, runs pretty much invisibly inside of word, etc. So it's probably worth the one time purchase cost.

Thanks for your suggestion, though. I appreciate it.

Hi folks,

I'm just learning to write Markdown. I wish I had learned this ages ago. It's amazing, and can even be written on my Orbit 20 Plus braille display, as long as I remember to choose Computer braille.

Does anyone know of a good, preferably free or cheap, Markdown editor that works well with Jaws? Basically, I'd love something that can import a .md file and save it either as .docx, .rtf or even as .html. I love the Writage plug in for Word that will import .md files directly into Word, but it only offers a free trial now.

Hi, Don. This is just another instance of the dreaded JAWS Lost Focus problem that has plagued us for a long time, and just keeps getting worse. If you want to at least know what is going on,

1. Start the JAWS Basic Options.
2. Press JAWS key plus V to go into Quick Settings.
3. Either type the word focus into the search box, or
4. Go down to General Options, and check the Focus Loss option.

I am running Jaws 2021 on a win 10 20h2 system. An example of what I am
seeing is if you go to jaws settings options and go to basic settings
when you are finished and hit enter on ok you must still hit windows key
m to get back to the desktop otherwise you are in some state of limbo.
Why do you not return to the desktop without using windows key m in
these such cases. It happens in other areas when using the settings
