Well, that is strange.
Have you talked with Freedom Scientific about this?
I find nothing in the settings that would account for this behavior.
Best of luck,

An easy way is when you are in the list of documents, tab once. It will say 'name, split button'. Press enter and the docs will turn themselves right-side-up again. Do it a second time and the list will flip over the other way.

A further note on how this happens; if you press control+o to open a document and shift+tab to get to your files, the first button you land on is Name…. If you accidentally press space or enter on that button, you will reverse the order of the files.

Like Mario, I have typically had mine on Manual for the same reasons. So many sites have search boxes and newsletter sign-up boxes and such and I want to just breeze by them without Forms mode triggering as I'm exploring. It's good every once in a while to change a setting, though, and see if my opinion on it has changed.

I have forms mode set to manual. it is just as easy to type e to navigate to an edit field and see if it's the one that's needed. I don't like the automatic setting for forms mode especially when just reviewing what's on a web page. semi automatic is ok but I still prefer manual.

Yes. For example, Go to JAWS Settings Center with JAWS key plus six on the numbers row.
1. Put the words virtual ribbon into the search box.
2. When you see Virtual Ribbon, press the TAB key, and you will hear the following if you use the up and down arrows to read,

Select this check box to turn on the Virtual Ribbon Menu. When it is on, the Ribbon is organized and navigated using a traditional menu and submenu format. This is true for any application that uses Ribbon menus. This makes it easy to navigate using ARROW keys or first letter navigation. This option is only available when Default settings are selected in the Application combo box. It is unavailable for other application specific files that are loaded. This check box is cleared by default.

It is saying this because you have a new notification in Chrome. You must go to Action Center and see what notifications you have in Chrome. Once you read the available notifications in Chrome, it will give you the option to clear all notifications in Chrome.

Jim:

I am having an issue installing Jaws as well on one of my computers, my ElBraille.  The installation stops at 50 percent and freezes.  I receive a Microsoft Visual C++ error.

Eventually, I spent over an hour on the phone with FS.  The problem still exist.  They are going to get back to me.  The tech support person worked hard on my issue, but wasn’t able to solve.

You may have the same issue going on.  If it is similar to my case, it did take a little while to hear from FS.

Hi all, I cannot install jaws 2021. I am authorized to have it, but it will not install. I downloaded it to my download folder, and that's as far as it goes.

I wrote to FS, and they gave me a case number, and I haven't heard from them since. Since I am authorized to have it, why won't it installs? I know a lot of you have a lot more knowledge about this kind of thing, so if you have some ideas, I would appreciate them. I am running jaws 19 at the moment on a windows ten computer. Jim
