Re: address in outlook

Dave...

After pressing Ctrl+3 to open the contacts, View Menu, then Current View.
Select Detailed Address Card.

It's the easiest to use scrolling up/down/left/right with JAWS.

To find someone, just start typing their name and you'll drop right on the
first one with a match. Press Enter for details or to edit.

Also helps to have your reading pane turned off.

Dear list,

Is there a way to scroll through your address book in outlook 2007? I know
you can type into the search field, but I need to be able to look through
all my contacts as I'm sending to multiple people and not sure all the
people I have in my contact list. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks

Was just wondering if anyone knows if JAWS is compatible with Microsoft Expressions Web and Design. My student is taking a class next year that requires her to use this program.

Thanks,

Re: Convenient OCR not so much

Lisle, Ted (CHFS DMS)

Yes. It's a baby step, but it works. Once in a while, someone in my
cabinet sends out a PDF image file, and I have used it successfully. I'd
hate like the dickens to read the great American novel with it, but it
works.

All:
I thought there might be one redeeming virtue to JAWS 13, namely,
Convenient OCR, or whatever it is called.
I regularly receive PDF documents that are, in fact, images. I also
receive faxes occasionally.
They are in TIF format.
I've tried the "S" for screen and the "W" for window options.
I regularly get utterly useless information.
Has anyone successfully scanned anything useful with this very
ineffective OCR?
Seriously, if I didn't have so much free disk space, I'd totally delete
JAWS 13, the utterly most worthless version of JAWS ever -- nominated
for the Hall of Shame.

I thought it was just me. I also receive documents that the sender swears
are PDF's. When I start converting them, I hear the dreaded "empty
document". Since I have a little sight, I can see that the screen is, in
fact, not empty. I go to the JAWS cursor and try to read it, but get
nothing. Am I missing a step, or is this just a dud?

PeopleSoft and other applications with JAWS

Adrian Spratt

I noticed two queries in recent days about applications that rarely come up
on this list. One was PeopleSoft, but I've forgotten the other. I felt bad
that none of us had anything helpful to post in response. Perhaps responses
were sent offline.

In any event, I thought I'd mention that even if an answer isn't posted,
Google remains a useful option. I just Googled "peoplesoft, jaws" and got
the following results page:
http://www.google.com/#sclient=psy-ab

on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.,cf.osb&fp=bb2989a4ed1510c5&biw=720&bih=625

I see that the first two results are posts from our own Dave Carlson from a
year ago. Another result seems to point to useful shortcut keys.

Re: need help with jaws and windows xp

Tom Lange

Hi,
Here's what I do to get to desktop properties.

1. Press windows+m or windows+d to bring focus to the desktop.
2. Press f5 to make sure nothing's selected.
3. Use the application (context menu) key or shift+f10 to open the context menu.
4. Arrow down to Properties and press Enter. This will place you in the Display applet of Control Panel.
5. Press ctrl+tab until you get to the Desktop page, then press tab until you find Font.

That oughta do it.

Hope this helps.

Tom

Joe,

Sounds like you have punctuation turned off because you're missing colons,
commas, parentheses, and quote marks.

Yes, look at the COUNTIF function. You should be able to put in a test value
for a range of cells and count those that match.

yes, find their address in one of their posts, and copy and paste it to the
TO field in a new message.

Hello,

Does anyone use People Soft, to access their Human Resource
information,
such at time sheets, etc?
I work for a state agency, and using People Soft is proving to be
somewhat
difficult.
I use JFW 12 and Windows 7 32 bit, on this netbook.

I'm currently using my own equipment because the state is still in the
process of purchasing the needed access technology.

MediSoft Software and JAWS?

Lisa D. Porter <lisaporter429@...>

Hi everyone,
I'm hoping to begin school for Medical Coding/Billing in the fall and was told that I would be using the MediSoft software program that most offices and hospitals are using. Does anyone know if this works with JAWS or not? Any type of input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Lisa

Hello there;

Sure you can!
All you need to do is;
If your wanting a senders private email address,
If your using OE,
Or,
Outlook;
Enter on the message,
Then press alt+#1 twice quickly,
Now you can copy to clipboard,

Hope this helps.
There is a reply privately to sender jaws script,
However it doesn't work.
The keystroke is,
Once you enter on the message,
It's:
Shift+insert+r,

Well, at least for me the source address shows up, so I can aalways
copy that and start a new message that will be private.

Of course, that only works if the address displayed is actually valid,
but for most folks, most of the time, it is.
