That is what I am hearing as well. I would guess in very early November. Beta three is in private beta now and will be released publicly very soon. Find out more on Wednesday evening on Main Menu Live as we have Eric Damery with us in hour 1 to talk about JAWS and its release. Brian Hartgen will be with us in Hour 2 to talk about the many things available to us from Leasey. Larry Gassman

Hello,
I gave them at Fredom Scientific a call yesterday to see if maybe I could find out and a sales person said that sometime in the 1st or 2nd week of next month November, we will be able to download the oficial release copy of Jaws2021. Hopefully this is when we will be able to at the latest!
Kindest regards,

Re: when hopefully JAWS2021 official release will be available
In my opinion it's always sworthwhile to keep up-to-date with Jaws unless of course you are using NVDA. The fact is that eventually you have to get caught up because Windows 10 changes so quickly and even with Office features change and are added all the time especially if you use Office 365 and there is simply no good reason to not always run the latest version. Jaws is not quite as it used to be where a new version meant possibly major new features, nowadays sometimes these features are added half way through the year and in any case, if you don't upgrade on a regular bases or, if you live in the US, use Jaws via the subscription based model, you eventually have to pay hundreds of Dollars to get caught up, you might as well pay the $7 or $8 a month or whatever the subscription costs or if you use th eolder 2-year license model by the new SMA right after you use your last one. For the Home version I believe it's $120 every 2 years which is $5 a months, quite a few people spend this on coffee every day, if you divide it by the number of days it's like 16.66 Cents a day and having the use of Jaws is certainly worth a couple of quarters every 3 days to me. .

Re: Accessible fax services with JAWS and Windows10
I have been using Myfax.com for many years, but this is not a free service. I just switched to an internet based phone system at my retail store and it includes fax service through SRFax.com, not sure about their pricing, but most of these fax services work in a way where you simply send your fax by email to the PhoneNumber@FaxService.com where Faxservice.com refers to whichever service you use. For example, with Myfax I send to 12021234567@myfax.com, I can just write something in the email body or I can attach a PDF, Word, Excel or other document to the email and it will be sent. Within a few minutes after you send the email you get a return email which tells you if your fax was successfully sent or not.
toggle quoted messageShow quoted text
For incoming faxes these services give you your own fax number, with Myfax I used to have a toll free number and if somebody sends you a fax to that number you get an email with the fax attached as a PDF file. Of course it's image based like any fax so you would have to run this through an OcR application or, if you use Jaws, you can use Convenient Ocr to recognize it.

Re: JAWS2021
And anybody can currently download the Jaws 2021 public beta which I assume is pretty close to the final release going by how things were in years past. The nice thing with Jaws is that you don't have to remove or upgrade your existing version, Jaws 2021 Public Beta can run and live on your system happily alongside Jaws 2020 or whatever you have and if something is not as you expect you can always unload Jaws 2021 and reload Jaws 2020.

I was gifted an eBook that someone really wants me to read. It’s an Amazon Kindle book. I seem to remember JAWS not doing well with such books a while back, but I don’t know if it has improved. What about on the iPhone? Is that any better? If anyone has any advice on how to best read this eBook, please share your ideas. Thanks much. Jim

Re: Can the read Aloud voice be used in JAWS?
Richard Turner
I did a lot of trial and error with the Read Aloud settings and found the Voice Options. There are a lot of voices. The ones that start with Microsoft, then a name, then Online Natural are the better sounding voices, which unless someone can say how to get them installed for Jaws, probably are not going to be available since they are Microsoft’s “Online” voices.

I still use calibre to convert kindle books to plain text (note this

requires that you keep kindle stunted at a fairly old version as recent ones have DRM that calibre can't deal with).

I have the Kindle app. on my iPhone and it does a good job of reading. You have the SIRI voice, it ain't NLS, but it is a decent way to go. I can read brand new books in series and by authors that I like and, later if and when they make NLS, I can re-read if I wish. Hope that helps. Pat ByrneAt 02:15 PM 10/28/2020, you wrote:

There are 3 improvements that I remember off the top of my head that I’m excited about in Jaws 2021.
Those are my top hitters. The voice control input is kind of a cool idea, however, it seems a little slow to me in the demos I’ve heard. So the jury for me is out on that item til more power is added and the time delay is shortened.
