Re: Outlook 2010 and JAWS 13

Dave...

Dondi,

No training that I know of specifically. The Insert+double A just gives you
a virtualized window where you can navigate with your standard cursor keys,
or even copy the content. Just press Escape after you've f9inished.

By the way if you use week view or month view, (Ctrl+Alt+2, 3, or 4) the
Insert+double A is supposed to give you information for the entire week or
month. Very handy tool.

Hi Dave,

That did it I had to be in day view in order for JAWS to read more then
three appointments in one day when tabbing through them. I tried insert+AA
and the virtualize viewer but I wasn't sure what I was to do there. Is there
some kind of training material that I could read up on how to use this
feature?

No restriction. Is your screen maximized? Try tabbing more to make sure you
route around to the top of the list again. The cursor does not always start
at the top, and "All-day" events may not each read separately.

Make sure you're set to "day View" (Ctrl+Alt+1).

Have you tried the Insert+double A to virtualize the view and see if all
your appointments show there?

Hello Everyone,

When I look at my calendar in Outlook 2010 JAWS 13 will say I have four
appointments but when I tab through the appointments JAWS will only read
three and the fourth appointment is unspoken. If I delete one of the earlier
appointments the last one will be read by JAWS, but that's the only way it
will work. Is there some kind of limit restrictions on the number of
appointments that JAWS will read in one calendar day in Outlook?

Re: jaws certification

Steve Matzura

What will it do for you? Well, certain training facilities, such as
state commissions for the blind, are starting to use it as an
accreditation or certification standard by which to evaluate and
measure potential trainers. I remember when personal computers were
first introduced into the workplace, there were few who really knew
the business, but everybody wanted in on the new big thing. In the
beginning, it was very easy to weed out who knew what, because mostly,
nobody knew anything! Today, you can go to a bookstore, pick up a book
for $20 or so, and at least sound like you know what you're talking
about, which has opened up the field to a lot of people, a lot of whom
are out-and-out hucksters. That being the case, there's got to be a
way to weed out the wheat from the chaff, as they say, so FS has come
up with a method of certifying that, yes, you do indeed know your
onions when it comes to JAWS and MAGIC. Personally, I think this kind
of thing is long overdue and will eventually separate them who can
from them who cannot in the training business, which is good for the
client in the end because they get a better class of trainer, one
who's guaranteed to really know what they're doing.

And what will it do for you?

Hi,

Has anyone done the jaws certification offered by FS? If so, thoughts? If I
read it right, you can take the test as many times as you would like and
once you pass it, then you pay.

Thanks.

Dennis,

You can purchase Cathy Anne Murtha's excellent courses at
http://www.accesstechnologyinstitute.com

You would also do well to look into Lois Goodine's NBP suggestion. Their
