Let me add to your mention of f6 that you then tab once. I can't remember the word you hear, but it's something like unprotect or clear or open. Press enter, and the file becomes unprotected. This method has worked consistently for me for some time.

Re: podcast apps
Hi, Sorry so slow in getting back to you but I had a long weekend away from most technology. Anyway, here’s how to change how JAWS reads graphics. I hope it helps you in the Grover app. It is how I have JAWS set on my PC and as I said I am able to use Grover efficiently.
1. Press Insert + j to open the JAWS Window, or press Alt + Tab to cycle through the open windows until you find the JAWS window. 2. Press Insert + v. JAWS opens the verbosity menu. 3. down-arrow about 10 or 11 times to graphics. 4. Press Spacebar to toggle between the choices, "labeled graphics, all, or none". If you want labeled graphics, stop when you hear JAWS say that, then 5. Press Enter to save your settings or Escape to cancel.
Much thanks, StanB

are there any mailchimp users on this list, would like advice for using with JAWS, free email portion
Sharon Ballantyne
Hi all,
I am wondering if anyone on this list is using mailchimp successfully with JAWS.
If you have any strategies that would be great.
I am interest in figuring out how to successfully navigate toad subscribers from my current email distribution list in Outlook giving people options to subscribe and unsubscribe.
I attended a webinar today but the screen was not being explained sufficiently for me to figure it out.
I would also appreciate any formatting suggestions as I will have a similar format for a daily email communication that will include text, a YouTube link and an image.
Thank-you.
Respectfully yours, Sharon Ballantyne Sharon.ballantyne@...

Suggestions of how to use Google slides using JAWS 2020 and Windows 10 needed please
Sharon Ballantyne
Hi All,
I was contacted by a professor about a new course I am beginning using Zoom. He wants me to be able to access google slides and be able to edit within the slides.
I do have a gmail account.
I have found some information on google documents but not google slides.
If anyone has any suggestions of resources to help me learn this, that would be great as I have never used the google suite and have my gmail set up to use in outlook. I am a person who is totally blind, using JAWS 2020 and Windows 10.
I plan to have Zoom open on one device and resources such as google slides and the workbook and texts on a separate laptop with earbud for that computer tucked in my headset and microphone that is connected to the laptop I am using for Zoom. Thank-you for any advice. Respectfully yours, Sharon Ballantyne

Hi. I have used Microsoft access with jaws and 2020 works fine with that. Also have used Microsoft sql server management studio. And does work with jaws. Maybe you could tell me what you want to do and what to create. And with sql server management studio f 6 gets you to the properties of each control. Hope that helps. Thanks.

Works fine with Jaws 2018 as well. It's pre-2018 versions that have issues with any working version of Firefox (you shouldn't be using pre-quantum firefox at all).

Unless other, very specific reasons are given, you should always just get the latest version of any web browser. Just go to the mozilla site and download it. We're at v.81, now.

I find Outlook 2016 very confusing. I really very much appreciate this explanation.
Just fyi, my outlook crashed last week. I wasn’t receiving e-mails and it only sent every so often. I got the Microsoft folks to help, and they just made the problem worse. But miraculously, it seems to have fixed itself. The only thing I am missing is the contact list that was in my previous version. I’m afraid to import it, because I don’t want anything to happen, so I’m sort of adding contacts one at a time. Again, I really appreciate your thorough explanation.

Are you wanting to create your own local database or a database
for web content? You could try Sqlite for your own local
database. It is light weight and you can create your database
with windows notepad. go to www.sqlite.org for reference and
details. If you want to create a database for web content, then
try Laragon, www.laragon.org. It is what is known as a WAMP
application, a combination of the Apache web server, the MYSQL
RDBMS and php for use on windows. Cheers.

I am in a college course working with databases. In the span of time since this thread has started, I have been able to install MariaDB 10.5.6 and it is accessible from a command line. So, I guess, I am good to go. However, a little off topic, but still in the ballpark, do you know a good tutorial on database normalization.
Thx
