And the straight delete function will delete all existing messages in a conversation if the "parent/root" message is selected, whether the conversation is expanded or not. When I select a root message in a conversation, and hit delete, I get a dialog box that says, "Delete applies to all items in this folder that are part of the conversation," with a checkbox for "Don't show this message again," and Delete selected messages and Cancel buttons. This presumes, of course, that conversation view is in use. -- Brian - Windows 10 Pro, 64-Bit, Version 2004, Build 19041 The purpose of education is not to validate ignorance but to overcome it.

Smart Navigation Mode
clarence carter
I notice that Smart Navigation mode does not work in some HTML E-mails in Outlook.
I have to move out of the E-mail and go back to get it to work. Then there are times when it works with no problem. I have it set to controls and tables.
Any ideas?

Current versions of Outlook usually have a "ignore function that will delete the conversation and move replies to that conversation to some place other than the Inbox. I don't remember if Ignore /mute functionality in Outlook is configurable (Sorry too many mail clients). But for me it shows up as the first item in the home ribbon when reading a message.

Subject: drag and drop on a laptop Hi All,
I am using JAWS 2020, and I am doing research ethics modules through the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada. In the first quiz, and undoubtedly in others, it listed 3 possible responses that it wanted me to rank using drag and drop to reorder them.
When I look up the key strokes for that, it uses the num pad key, but I don’t have that on a laptop. Any advice about how to accomplish this? It seems I now also need that key to turn on the JAWS curser.
Many thanks for any help you can provide.

Re: braille display with jaws

Some dots not fully dropping does seem normal to me for braille displays. A lot of things seem to interfere with the action of the pins -- and of course being in contact with human skin flakes and moisture all the time while in use can't help.

The alva might still be made to work. You may be able to find a driver for it or set another display in settings that will be similar enough that the Alva and computer can still communicate. I was able to get a pretty old Brailliant 80 (I think that's what it's called) to work even though it didn't show up in the list of compatible displays. I had to download a driver from the internet and unfortunately it came with some adware. Wasn't expecting that from a braille display driver. Luckily it was just an annoying ad screen that would pop up every so often, and malwarebytes got rid of it.

You would have thought this would have been caught at the company before it was sent out but of course it was only a dot 1 in only one cell. I have noticed that sometimes dots stay up when shutting down the device and I have to turn it back on and shut it down again to make the dots drop. Re: drag and drop on a laptop
Cynthia,
Take a look at the Quick Commands Reference (or whatever JAWS calls it, and it will be obvious) in the JAWS Help menu. I don't know of a single JAWS command that does not have both a desktop (or laptop that has a number pad, which one generally uses desktop keyboard layout with) and a laptop layout command. If you intend to use this laptop in "full portable" mode you'll want to be using the laptop keyboard layout and the corresponding keystrokes for that layout. You can also, of course, plug in an external full keyboard and use typical desktop keyboard layout with JAWS as well, but if you don't have it handy you'll need to know the laptop layout specific sequences. -- Brian - Windows 10 Pro, 64-Bit, Version 2004, Build 19041 The purpose of education is not to validate ignorance but to overcome it.
