Well, in Outlook if there is a group of messages, JAWS starts at the bottom of the list instead of at the top.

When I am on the desk top, jaws says selected and then unselected over and over.

Also in Outlook when I am in my inbox Jaws says table view.  It never did that before.

moderated Express-Scripts website to refill prescriptions

Van Lant, Robin

Anyone else an Express-Scripts user for prescriptions?  I have refilled on their website before, but they redesigned it since my last refill and now I cannot get to where I need to refill.  It appears (from

the bit of remaining vision I have) that they have made it like tabs across the page and I think I see drop down arrows that expand when you click on the tab. JAWS read the tabs as buttons and says menu expanded, but it also goes into forms mode and then I cannot navigate I tried using the JAWS cursor and I’m not sure if it did anything or not.  Also, even when it says an in-page link for available refills, I cannot find anything refreshing in the main area to show my prescriptions.  So frustrated.  I filled in a complaint on the feedback form, but wondering if anyone else is a user and can test it, too.

I am using latest JAWS 202 and Google Chrome.

I guess I’ll call an AIRA agent to help me navigate.

Has anyone tried the new password manager from Dropbox yet and if so is it accessible with JAWS? If it has worked well with JAWS do you know how well it works with Voiceover on an IOS device? I realize my second question is off topic but right now I’m paying for both Dropbox Plus and the 1Password password manager and I wouldn’t mind dropping 1Password.

Does not say word or say line not work?

These are the oldest of Jaws commands.

Using the insert pad, it is insert + 5 or insert + 8.

Or if using laptop layout, caps lock K or I.

Is there a keyboard command to have the PC Cursor repeat itself?  With the Virtual PC cursor, there are reading commands that repeat the same line or word, like JAWS + H.  But sometimes I don't quite hear what the PC cursors is saying, like when describing an interface element, like a combo box.  My only strategy at this point is to tab away and then tab back. But it feels like there should be a single command to repeat what was said.

You can also use Jaws speech history.  Press the layered keystroke Jaws Key+Spacebar followed by, H, for, History, to read any error messages or any other messages that the Jaws might have read and you didn't quite catch.

I think that the closest thing that we have to a command to speak the last utterance is the insert-tab hotkey. In many cases this keystroke may do what you want. In situations where it does not you can press insert-space, followed by the letter H to bring up the speech history.

I'm encountering an issue with Vocalizer and JAWS. It's substituting what it thinks something should be, and it's wrong. Let me illustrate.

There is a ham radio called the GD-77. Vocalizer says it's the good 77, and that's not right. The letters should be spelled out. I tried to do a dictionary entry for the word, but it didn't work. I also never knew Google had a service called grams mail. This is annoying, and because of it I'm back to good old Eloquence. moderated Switching voice profiles according to your mood

Mark

Does anyone have experiences with changing JAWS voices or voice profile according to your mood? For example, reading in the evening it might be nicer to have an evening voice profile with softer tones and slower speed. I imagine the same could apply between switching things up to read a poem versus a work email. Perhaps it also requires having a custom Speech and Sound Scheme for each mood too.  I'm not sure how best to approach that, or even if others have been down this same road. It would be ideal to switch things for moods with only a couple of keyboard commands.

And you should see what Tom does with dates! Its awful and there is no dictionary entry that would solve it.

I loaded Nathan to check, and yes, Nathan says good.
If entering gd in the dictionary and then g d with a space between them in the replacement doesn't work, then it is the Nathan voice being stubborn and not honoring the Jaws setting.

Hi.

I'm using the Nathan Compact voice.

Oh well, it is what it is, but it's annoying.

I'm taking back everything I said on this topic.
Kevin, my Vocalizer Tom Enhanced speaks your example perfectly as g d not good.

Which voice are you using exactly?

And, I have actually never heard Grahams mail for gmail.

Hi.

I prefer Vocalizer's speech, but not with all the so-called "helpful" abbreviation conversions.

Thanks in advance.

moderated Getting the PC cursor to repeat what it just said

Mark

Is there a keyboard command to have the PC Cursor repeat itself?  With the Virtual PC cursor, there are reading commands that repeat the same line or word, like JAWS + H.  But sometimes I don't quite hear what the PC cursors is saying, like when describing an interface element, like a combo box.  My only strategy at this point is to tab away and then tab back. But it feels like there should be a single command to repeat what was said.

Hi Mike,

When this was first posted, I followed those steps. I still hear the words “Table View.” I’m not concerned about that as overall, Outlook is working well. On occasion, Outlook will not open, other than that, it is functioning well.

Best Regards,

Les

Hi Pastor Gil,

I don't run Outlook, but this is something to try that has worked for others.

Open the Settings Center while in the application or open the default all applications Settings Center if you want to do this for all applications.  Insert + 6, on the number row for Settings Center and press, Control, Shift + D, for Settings Center default all applications.

Down arrow to, Web / HTML / PDFs closed, right arrow toopen.

Down arrow to, Reading, right arrow to open.

Down arrow to, Configure Web Verbosity Levels closed, right arrow to open.

Down arrow to, Medium..., press the spacebar to open.  Note, don't press enter here, only use the spacebar.

Down arrow many times to, Table grid checked, or use first letter navigation, and uncheck this.

Now, Okay, then apply, and okay.

Take care and stay safe.  Mike.  Sent from my iBarstool.  Go dodgers!

Well, in Outlook if there is a group of messages, JAWS starts at the bottom of the list instead of at the top.

When I am on the desk top, jaws says selected and then unselected over and over.

Also in Outlook when I am in my inbox Jaws says table view.  It never did that before.

The Beta works fairly well, with the exception of a few things. The
most common issue that I've had, is sometimes, it will not allow me to
Alt tab through my open windows. It will act as if there are no open
tabs. This has happened several times, when I have had at least four
different Windows open at once. If I minimize to the desktop, and give
it some time, I am able to resume using the ALT tab as I normally
would. I figured this is typical Beta tpe behavior. It seems to work
well otherwise.
