If they have a phone number, I'd call them and inform them that they have created an inaccessible site by trying to use the screen reader detection.
Before I clicked on the button that said to use it in accessibility mode hit the first button.
After that, even after deleting cookies it is still loading the page.

What happens is that the screen reader will read the page as normal until you try to move to another spot on the page. Then, the page says page downloading. I have added the web page below. If anybody has a way around this I would appreciate your help.

Hi Dani,

I'm not a big Word user, but I do read and have saved a lot of Word notes and I can't find a note on, or about navigating by Section.  While in a Word DOCX try pressing either, Insert + H  or,  Insert + W, for a bunch of keystrokes.

Take care.  Mike.  Sent from my iBarstool.  Go dodgers!

Subject: Moving Between Se`ctions in a Word Document

Hi, Everyone.
Using JFW2018 and Word2016 with Win10. I have a large document with
multiple sections that I need to look through. When I do an Ins+F1 JFW
tells me what section I'm on and describes its margins; it also tells
me how many sections my document has. But it seems there is no
keystroke to move between sections. Is that right?

Thanks,
Dani

moderated Not able to read Kindle book

Ralph Supernaw

Hi,

I am trying for the first time in quite a while to read a Kindle book on my Windows PC.  When I opened Kindle it updated.  I was able to download the book to my PC and open it.  However, Jaws does not read any of the book text.  OCR (insert + spacebar, O, W works so and know that the text is there.

Any Ideas?

Thanks.

True the official release is in late October, but the two or three beta versions will take place in early September and in to October. My guess is that unless we run in to any show-stoppers on the beta team that you could see it as early as maybe later this week.

We’ll see.

Lino, Try and be patient.  If I remember correctly the official version of 2021 will be released Oct. 10.  I could be wrong though.  I just know it is sometime in Oct.

It is from the first time you run Jaws then after 40 minutes you need to reboot. Not from the first time your machine is turned on. Your machine could be on for a year and jaws will run for 40 minutes if it is the first time you used it in that year.

I don't use JAWS myself, but I do occasionally tutor for it, or need to check something out in it, and the 40-minute mode is the bane of my existence.  It's not the 40 minute limitation, as I never take anywhere close to that to figure something out, but that it's not timed from whenever you might happen to want to invoke JAWS, but from when the system was started up (which I think is insanely stupid).  It's not rocket science to set this up such that "now" is recorded in a file, and you get 40 minutes from "now" and cannot get another 40 minutes unless you have rebooted or some period of time from "the last now" has passed.

For those of us who leave our machines up  and running 24/7 for extended periods of time, and who keep lots of work up and running, too, having to reboot to get a "quick check" of something from JAWS is maddening.

My sighted wife is the one who handles the accounting for our businesses with QB. So I'm not well versed on this topic, but one accessible software I've heard of even though we don’t' use it is Cash Manager: https://cashmanager.io/us/
They’ve even got an Accessibility section: https://cashmanager.io/us/accessibility
It looks like they were even featured on an FSCast.
Just another option to look into for folks.

There really aren't very many accounting programs out there at least not when it comes to business solutions. Sage 50 can be used, but you sort of have to know the program, somebody who is very new to it may very well say it is inaccessible, but I have been using Sage 50 and, before it became Sage 50, Simply Accounting for well over 20 years.

Hello, to my fellow JAWS users.
I realize with WLM crashing people left and right, I'm in the process of
getting Office suite 2019, unless I can pick up 2020, or even 2021.
Microsoft wants $250.00 for home and business pro, and I'm waiting for a
return letter where I might be able to pick up the entire office suite,
including out look for around $80.
Here's my situation.
Before, I could abuse the enter key to read my mail for WLM in jaws.
Now I have to not only press the enter key, but control home to go to the
top, then tap my left mouse key before I can read the mail.
Is this a sign of WLM decaying on me already?
Also, I'm attempting to copy my contacts.
With the mail package open, I can ctrl three to open up the contacts, I also
can either is it ctrl a or is it alt a to select all, but I can't copy nor
can I import or export.
I can only import or export mail and or messages.
So, some help to back this info up would be appreciated as well.
Many thanks.
