In the returned copy, even though I have the screen maximized, the URL was trunkated across 2 lines, with a space at the end of the line, and the .html on the next line. Copy the text to the clipboard. Open your preferred web browser. Use the command to open the edit box where you type or, paste URL addresses, and paste the URL in there. Hello, to my fellow JAWS users.
I realize with WLM crashing people left and right, I'm in the process of getting Office suite 2019, unless I can pick up 2020, or even 2021. Microsoft wants $250.00 for home and business pro, and I'm waiting for a return letter where I might be able to pick up the entire office suite, including out look for around $80. Here's my situation. Before, I could abuse the enter key to read my mail for WLM in jaws. Now I have to not only press the enter key, but control home to go to the top, then tap my left mouse key before I can read the mail. Is this a sign of WLM decaying on me already? Also, I'm attempting to copy my contacts. I just went through the entire process, which is slightly different from the instructions I copied. I unchecked the “list” checkbox. Did you find the apply button? Then there’s a second OK button. I closed settings, closed Chrome, reopened Chrome, reopened settings, and the “list” checkbox remained unchecked.
I’m using the latest release of JAWS 2020, Windows 10-1909 and the latest version of Chrome.

Andrew, This is not a new feature. It sounds as though the latest update change your existing settings. So: I haven’t gone through the following process just now except for the first few steps, but here are instructions that should still work: Open JAWS settings with JAWS key+6 on the number row above the letters. If you want the change to affect only one application, be sure focus is in that application. Otherwise, press shift-control-d for it to affect all programs. Type v e r in the search box and verbosity will appear. One of the results that comes up is configure web verbosity. On my system, it’s the first of eight. Note: this is different from JAWS’ speech verbosity. Cycle through the options with the spacebar. Press f6. The current level is verbalized right away. Tabbing once initiates “Set Web verbosity levels.” The first button is labeled “High.” Tab again to medium and then again to low. Press spacebar on the button of your choice. After pressing the button you select, a tree view of checkboxes appears. Arrow down to “List” and pressed spacebar to uncheck it. Note: You may wish to look at the other items in this tree view in case you want to disable, or in some cases enable, more options. Tab twice to Okay and press spacebar. Hi, I can confirm that the Dell uses Fn+esc to toggle back to function key mode. I occasionally get JAWS only saying read or unread in the message list. I just alt tab away and back again to fix it.

Thank you, that worked! The odd thing is, even when I load a file into Notepad, if the line doesn't go all the way out to cell #40, when there's a line that does, with Structured Mode set to Line, the cursor snaps right back to cell #1 the way it ought.

You can keep structured mode but turn off the showing of controls and their state by going to settings, braille, structured mode, include optional components, and "show control grouping info"...uncheck this box and I think this will make most of this stuff go away for you.

That is strange. I have a focus, too, an older one though without the "scratch pad" or whatever they call it. I do not have this happening and cell 1 is certainly being utilised. I now have a broken dot in the middle that's stuck in the up position -- a no doubt mechanical issue I'll need to have resolved at some point, but obviously that's a different sort of thing.
