One additional thought.  I have accidently deleted a desktop icon before.  I went into the desktop recycle bin.  I found it there and restored it to the desktop.  If you ar not familiar with this, I will give you some tips.

1.       Press enter on  the recycle icon on your desktop.

Press the letter for the word you are looking for.  Example might be M for Microsoft or W for Word.

2.       Once you find it, press either shift-10 or the applications key and up or down until you find restore.  Press enter.

Stay safe.

Hi there. Here’s how to retrieve something from the ether, especially, an icon that’s usually on the desktop. If it’s not in the Recycle Bin, you can locate  it using the search field on the Start Menu, click on the item you have searched, E.G. “Word”, right click on it, choose Open File Location, Word should show up there, right click on that, arrow down to Send to Desktop as a shortcut, boom, you should have Word back on your desktop.

I hope this information helps.

Hi, Michael. Before you search for cut, search for lower audio. Once you find the Lower audio volume of programs while JAWS speaks check box from your search, uncheck this box. Then proceed to search for the word cut, and proceed as you did before. Now the speech cut feature should be available. Then, be sure to save your settings in Default Configuration.

Amazon has a 30 day return policy which I have taken advantage of at times.  It’s interesting because I like the round keys on the K780. I guess it just boils down to preference.  My finger tips are round so they fit nicely on the keys.

It was accessible in the past but the level of accessibility really depends on how information is added. Any website can be made in accessible when people put in information that is not accessible.

Well, I have the Logitech K480 which has the same keys.

Yes, the corners are rounded, but the portion your finger is on is almost exactly the same size as a standard USB keyboard; like the one I am typing on now.

In fact, if they are any smaller, I cannot tell.

Personally, without trying it, no one can know if it works for them.

The arrow keys are small and below the shift key. There is not the typical  6 pack   keys. It is well made, very heavy and made with a groove at the top to put a tablet or phone. This is an older one, but the F-keys are separated into groups of four, it is exactly like a regular desktop keyboard.

Hi,

I have had this problem for a long time as well, it just seems very
inconsistent with audio devices in Microsoft Windows 10.
I Think that the issue is with sound card power savings.
When different devices power down, JAWS and Microsoft Windows gets confused
as to which device should be used, is available etc and it seems to jump
around.
If enough of us report this to Freedom Scientific, they may look at it but I
have a feeling that it may be tricky as it is the way that Microsoft Windows
power management is working and there is little that you can do about that
as you can't disable the specific device power options unless the OEM writes
iit in to their software or ddrivers and they make the utility accessible.

I thought if I specifically selected the sound blaster card in Jaws, and not

I am trying to route Jaws to the sound blaster card and other sounds to the

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Also, when I plug in any new sound output device, such as a camera, windows
10 makes this the active sound output device, effectively turning off Jaws
speech.

Hi,

Yes, what you want to do is possible.  Not sure why you are having this situation.

Subject: Sound Card Question Windows 10

I am using latest Jaws 2020 and windows 10.  I have my sound blaster card selected in Jaws, but when I go to sound settings in windows and change to a different sound card, I lose Jaws speech.

I thought if I specifically selected the sound blaster card in Jaws, and not the windows default sound, Jaws would always speak through the sound blaster card, regardless of selection in windows 10 sound settings.

I am trying to route Jaws to the sound blaster card and other sounds to the built in realtek sound card.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Also, when I plug in any new sound output device, such as a camera, windows 10 makes this the active sound output device, effectively turning off Jaws speech.

I have the logitech K780. I do not like it for the key layout. It has round keys instead of the normal square ones. The function keys do not have the typical space after each group of 4. The arrow keys are small and below the shift key. There is not the typical  6 pack   keys. It is well made, very heavy and made with a groove at the top to put a tablet or phone. It does work with three devices, computer, phone and tablet.   I would like to sell it.

Check out the Logitech K780.
someone else who I thin; is on this list, likes that one quite a bit, but I do not know about the keys separation.

Something to consider as well, find out the actual measurements before purchasing.
My wireless Logitech keyboard, not bluetooth, measures about 18 inches left to right and almost 8 inches front to back.
If it is an inch or two smaller, it may not have the key separation you want.
This is an older one, but the F-keys are separated into groups of four, it is exactly like a regular desktop keyboard.
In fact, I think I will look into a bluetooth transmitter that I could plug into an old desktop computer to turn one of those into a bluetooth keyboard.

Logitech K270 is a great wireless keyboard. It is a standard keyboard except it does not have a windows key on the right side. About $20 on Amazon.

I assume you are talking about wireless keyboards, not necessarily bluetooth ones, since I believe there are very few choices for the actual bluetooth PC keyboards. If htis is the case, I can recommend my keyboard, it almost fits your requirements: Microsoft Wireless Comfort Desktop 5050. Function keys are not separated into groups of four, but what I've done is I put sticky dots on the function keys to make them into groups of four. I put bigger dots on F2 and F3, and I put smaller ones on F1 and F4, so that I can feel the whole group of 4 as a single block of keys.

Hello. Does there exist a Bluetooth keyboard with function keys separated in groups of four, a numeric keypad and a context menu key?  In other words, with the functionality and appearance of a good old standard Windows keyboard?

I don’t know just what I did, but the Payment button finally did show up, so I was able to complete the transaction.  Thanks.

I would call 800-444-4443.  I had no issue on the portal page, but it did require me to create a separate account for the eStore.

I have been trying to take advantage of the 20% reduction in price for renewing my JAWS subscription, but I can't seem to get past the log in screen.  I even reset my pass word, but still no joy.  The odd thing is that I am able to get to the page where I can choose between the 1, 3, or 5 year plans, but when I make my choice, by hitting Space on the Order button, I can't get to the payment page to complete the order.  Has anyone else had a problem with their renewal?
