I would suggest using the desktop app. The browser tends to be problematic with regards to accessibility. Thanks, abraham

is chat function in Webex accessible?
Van Lant, Robin
Anyone figured out how to use chat in Webex? JAWS will read some of the chats as they come in, but I cannot figure out how to get to that area and/or type a message. I’m using Google Chrome to access meetings and JAWS 2020.

Re: How to group by subject - Was: RE: in outlook 2019, how do you delete messages with one subject at once if you aren't interested in them?
Van Lant, Robin
For this JAWS list, I have a rule that puts all the messages in one folder when received, arranged with newest at the top. I then have the columns organized so that subject is the first item JAWS reads, after the read/unread icon. Then, I have Conversations turned on. This puts all JAWS list messages of a single subject into one collapsible item. If you use this view, you also need to go into Outlook options and look for the setting under Accessibility for keyboard navigation and tell outlook not to automatically expand conversations as you arrow past them. I still find that this can happen, especially when I first come to this folder, but it’s not bad. I thought JAWS used to consistently tell me if a conversation was expanded or collapsed, but I’m not hearing it right now and not sure if that is a JAWS change or something I accidentally tweaked. Nonetheless, you can tell it’s a conversation header item If you hear multiple names after a subject line, as it will read the names of those who have contributed to that thread. If you are on the top item in this conversation, hitting delete will delete all the messages in that thread. I get a warning that I’m doing that. If the conversation is expanded, hitting delete on any of the message will delete just that message.
Hopefully this gives you some ideas of things you can do. I’m headed into meetings for the rest of the day, so I don’t’ have time to elaborate more.

A much more efficient way to delete items not of interest is to group by subject. I had this set, but some gremlin has undone it, and I can’t get it back. Any Outlook hot-shot wonky wizards there to help?

IN Outlook 2016, with a message wit the subject line highlighted, applications key then I for ignore to delete the conversation. Also, if it’s regarding a thread via Groups.IO, there’s always the mute option if you have an account which is easy enough to create. Control plus the delete key also works. Cristóbal

I can’t remember who posted this alternative method, but it’s what I’ve been using for a while.
Press the applications key. Release. Press f. Release. JAWS verbalizes, “Messages in this conversation.” Press enter. Shift-tab to land in this list of messages. Control-a for select all. Delete key.
To return to the original message list, press escape, then alt-tab, release, alt-tab a second time.
A little burdensome? Yes, but it becomes automatic.

This is why moderators are reminding their group members to change the subject line if it has not been change and does not match the body of the subject line. One does not want to throw the baby out with the bath water?

group by subject. No snark intended, but you've given your answer, or the exact thing you need to do, which is the hard part. ALT+V (View Ribbon), AB (arrange by), J (subject). I can't tell you how to go back to whatever arrangement you had without knowing what that was, and you'll need to look at how you've elected to group typically before changing it to subject. For myself, I use Date (conversations) for my default view, so substitute a D where the J is in the other command sequence to go back to that. -- Brian - Windows 10 Pro, 64-Bit, Version 1909, Build 18363 The purpose of education is not to validate ignorance but to overcome it.

Re: in outlook 2019, how do you delete messages with one subject at once if you aren't interested in them?
Jim,
For "quick and dirty" selection of a number of messages that have something sufficiently distinctive about them, I use the basic search function (CTRL+E), enter the search criteria (say, with the quotes, "Purple People Eater" if all the messages have this as their subject, or part of it, and others don't), then select all of the search results after it's done and hit Delete to delete them. You sometimes have to do several iterations of this, depending on how many messages are involved and how many have already been found when you first do the select all. -- Brian - Windows 10 Pro, 64-Bit, Version 1909, Build 18363 The purpose of education is not to validate ignorance but to overcome it.

Hi.
Thanks for letting me know where to find the DVS track, that is, if the DVD has one. The one I hoped would have it only has English and French. Oh well, I have another one to try.

Re: emoji on windows 10
Hi, This requires support for modern input facility from JAWS (made more complicated as the executable responsible for displaying emoji panel has been renamed in Windows 10 May 2020 Update). I know that recent JAWS 2020 updates support emoji panel and reading emojis to some degree, but I agree that it is not quite up to the par as in Narrator ()and another one; talk to me privately). 🤔 Well, this works with Narrator, but not with Jaws 2020.
Apparently, the menu opens, but Jaws says squat. I can tab or arrow until my fingers fall off and nothing. But, when I hear “menu” if I hit enter, an emoji is selected.
Is there a setting in Jaws to make this work?

Turn caps lock on Press and hold windows and semicolon together Arrow over to categories and tab to the different emoji’s on the screen Press enter on the emoji you desire and it will allow you to stay in the category for multiple emoji fun
Can anyone add anything I missed to this?
