Rick,

It's not much different through all the versions of Outlook.  I suspect something is wrong with yours.  But I stand by my last advice.  You have the option to go to Microsoft, at no cost, and have them look at the situation.  I'd suggest you do that.

Maybe I’d better go into more detail as to what I am trying to do.  I thought that I had indicated on my Outlook calendar the time of a social that happens every Friday in this home.  I am trying to find out if I did and if so, when.  I remember that in Outlook 2007 it used to be real easy.  You’d get into the View Menu and then hit the Enter key on the Change View link.  Then you would just arrow down to where it said “List,” and hit the enter key.  Then all your appointments would appear as a list view rather than as a calendar view.  If you wanted to go back to a calendar view again you would just get into the View Menu and hit the enter key where it said “Change view,” then arrowed  from the List View to the Calendar view and then hit the Enter key and there you would be right back in your calendar view again.

Rick,

I no longer have Outlook 2010, but I don't think this has changed in a very long while.  In Outlook 2016, when you're looking at Calendar, the following shortcuts can be used to change the presentation of the calendar:

Ctrl+Alt+1  Day View

Ctrl+Alt+2  Work Week View

Ctrl+Alt+3   Week View

Ctrl+Alt+4  Month View

Ctrl+Alt+5  Schedule View

It may be Schedule view that you're looking for, or maybe not.  But it's worth a quick try, anyway.

Day View (Ctrl+Alt+1) shows a single day as a list of appointments.

OK.  Then once Calendar is open, try ALT+V,CV  (View Ribbon, Change view).  In Outlook 2016 the Calendar, Preview, List, and Active choices can then be reached via right arrowing (Calendar being the default).

But even if it's done otherwise, it's likely to be after ALT+V,CV, you'll have to noodle around to find it if right arrowing doesn't work under 2010.

one thing to check is to look in the preference menu and change it to use the windows file manager for its view. then reload dropbox if needed. then it will look the way it did last year. then you should see the shared folder and paste your files there.

I am not seeing any way to upload my file into drop box so I can share the link via email.

So what I would recommend you do when you move a file from your documents,
or anywhere else in your computer to your drop box, is that do ctrl-X to cut
the file from your documents. Then paste it into the folder in drop box.
Then you don't have duplicates and have to remember whether or not you put
it in your drop box.

Dear Listers:

I am using Outlook 2010, Windows 2010 and the latest version of JAWS.

When I am in  the calendar and just want to view a list of appointments, how do I find the List view?  I know you have to start by getting into the View menu and then hitting the Enter key on the “Change View,” option, but after that I am lost.

moderated Excel Page Down

Brenda Emerson-Alford

Hello Listers,

I have three different questions which I will post in separate messages.  Recently my computer came to an early demise due to an unfortunate incident with a glass of ice tea.  It has been a long recovery effort for me.  Several issues have come up that weren't problems in the past but since rebuilding everything somewhat from scratch things have not exactly worked the same.  I have spent considerable time in both the options sections of the different MS programs including outlook, excel and word along with the JAWS setting center.

My question about Excel is the following:

In the past I have used the page down key (num pad 3) to drop down several rows at a time along with the page up (num pad 9) to go up several lines.  When I press the page up key it takes me all the way to the top of the spreadsheet.  When I try to move down by several lines it also takes me to the first row.  This is very frustrating since I have several large spreadsheets which I use for personal banking and monitoring where we are traveling.  Any suggestions on a setting I need to adjust?

I am using the latest version of JAWS 2019, Windows 10 and MS Excel 2016.

Thanks for your assistance.

It is true that there is a learning curve to using iTunes.
It  is impossible to  cover in one email all the multiple aspects  so I will assume you want in the first place just to see your music library and be able to navigate the various parts of iTunes.   I think  is that for a smooth screen reading experience you need to have column browser set as your view.
Unfortunately   Apple have in their wisdom made switching to column browser obscurely difficult.
Basically if you tab round i’tunes you will find a sidebar view table under which you can set the view for iTunes. I think the default is album, there will be another called artist, but the view setting you need is for songs.
Once you  have songs set as your  view  you will find that there  are extra options available in the view menu.
Now you can enable column browser and also specify which columns you want to show. Personally I do not bother with Genre.
Now your library will be arrange in easy columns of artist, albums and songs. As you cursor down artists the albums available  will be shown, and once an  album is highlighted  the songs available will be shown. You can tab and shift tab to each column providing actually a very good music playing experience.
In fact for iTunes you are probably better off with NVDA in the actual music library as NVDA supports fast forward and rewind whilst Jaws still, the last time I checked, still announces not in a table.
This might get you started. Once in column view you can press control F to bring up the Find menu. This is a convenient shortcut to navigate to the part of iTunes area  which allows  access as tabbing simply  from the search area  will allow you to open up for example the Apple Music Sore.
Remember that that if you do not want to use Apple Music you have also to disable Show Apple Music Features in preferences. You need to , the last time I checked, to do this to enable the buying of individual songs and albums.

I haven't tried the Microsoft Store version lately, but when I did a couple of years ago I found it worked less well for me than the desktop version.

This is exactly the opposite for the iCloud Control Panel where it is much better to install the Microsoft Store version (if you need it).

Yes, I did install the one from the Microsoft store.

I am just using it for ringtones as sieghard said.

When I looked up how to actually do this, I was told from the web site, that I needed the latest version.

Anyway, do you recommend that I uninstall the Microsoft store one and use the actual desktop?

If so, I will try it, and let you know.

Do you know if you installed the Microsoft Store version of the app or the old-style desktop one?

You want the latter. From the iTunes website, I think you need to choose other versions to get the option to show.
