Which is the best free accessible software to convert mp4 audio files in to mp3 or wav files.

2nd question: Is there a software that strips mp4 audio from a video mp4 file that converts them to either .wav or mp3?

Thanks.

To send someone a email off line.

1.      While in their message,  just shift tab up to the persons name. first will be their name and on the same line is their email address.

2.      Press the space bar and their address will come up so you can send them a message.

3.      You might have to press enter on their address after pressing the space bar.

4.

Hi all,

I've had this beef with JAWS and reading PDF documents forever! In a long
PDF, when you press CTRL plus PageDown to go to the next page, the focus
ends up somewhere in the middle of the next page instead of at the top of
the page, so I must first give the CTRL plus Home command to go to the top
of the page before starting to read the page. I've written to FS about this
issue several times, but they never seem to bother fixing it. NVDA, on the
other hand, places focus at the top of the next page when pressing CTRL plus
PageDown, so it is possible to do. I guess FS doesn't think it's important
enough to worry about. Very frustrating!

Thanks,

Russell

Sometimes, you have to try something else instead of
Infer reading order from document (recommended)

This means choosing from one of the two remaining options,

Left-to-right, top-to-bottom reading order

Use reading order in raw print stream

Usually, if you choose one of the other two options, it renders the pdf
better than
Infer reading order from document

Hi. I open PDFs in Adobe Reader. JAWS sometimes jumps around of its own
accord in pdfs, especially when transitioning from one page to another. and
has to be redirected. Even jaws 2020. While I am able to bring it back where
I need to when it jumps, I remain quite worried. That I might miss some
vital info or internalize it wrongly if I fail to notice the jump. Does
anyone else face this? How do you get around it? Converting every pdf into
word is not very viable.. and can muff up footnotes. Copy pasting it into
word makes a 10 page pdf a 30 page word doc. And makes quick reading very
hard. So what can one do?

moderated Re: modify spoken symbols #jaws

Hi,

If you only want to change how a symbol is spoken, all you have to do is rename the symbol name at the end of a particular line.

If you want to go further and add a new entry for a symbol that jaws can’t recognize, notice the following syntax:

u+04D9=Schwa Cyrillic

where u+04D9 is the Unicode hex for the symbol known as schwa Cyrillic, and everything after the symbol equals is how jaws will verbalize the symbol. Of course, the actual spoken name is arbitrary, and you can name it as you wish.

so, if you want to add a new symbol, you must follow the syntax described above, and since the .sbl files are language specific, you must add every entry right below the language upon which you want the modifications are made.

If you don’t know the Unicode hex for a symbol, do as follows:

Copy the symbol to the clipboard, of course, jaws can’t recognize the symbol yet, so basically, jaws won’t verbalize a thing. Make sure you paste this symbol in a word document with no blank spaces, and right away press alt plus x. Now you will notice that the symbol turns into a string of characters, such as  04D9. Add u+ before of it, and you now have the Unicode hex representation for that particular symbol.

Last but not least, to make all these changes you need to run notepad as administrator. Actually, you don’t need to use notepad plus plus for this matter.

Hi Richard,

When you first open Team viewer, you will need to tab down to a field that says: “Your ID:” and provide the person that will control your computer the digits in that field.

Tab to: “Password: and provide the password that is generated.

This only will work if you are using the Team Viewer as a free version. I’m not sure what happens if you purchased a license.

Once the person connecting to your computer has entered those pieces of information they should be connected and be able to take over. You should be on the phone if there is something specific that you are looking for help with if the person is not very familiar with your computer setup. You don’t have to unload JAWS and if you need to take control, the helper can let you take over and you don’t need to disconnect.

I hope this is helpful information.

I couldn’t figure out how to give access to a technician to take control of my computer and could barely deal with the connection.

At least, between Teamviewer and Skype he was able to direct me to the braille driver that was getting in the way.

But I would say that whatever the current version of Teamviewer is, it isn’t very accessible.
