Subject: Problem with word2016 with Jaws 2020 the latest update

 

When I open it with Jaws2020 the latest update, I can read the text but after each word I get the placemarkers speech and I see the placemarkers sign in my Braille display too.

When I close Jaws and start NVDA, AND OPEN THE SAME FILE, I don’t have any problem.

So my understanding is that the problem is only within Jaws.

 

Any solution or help, please.

The Braille works well for use with Windows screen readers, I did have some annoying effects when trying to use it with a Macintosh, because they don't map the all the keys in the way I think they should. I did find the notepad and clock functions useful.

I am using Blackboard through Capella. When I have to turn in an assignment, there is a link for the assignment right before the requirements for the assignment. When you click that link, it takes you to the assignment upload page. For me, on this page, it lands in application mode. I have to double tap the pc cursor key to get out of application mode. There is a button that says “browse” after you tab a couple times. You have to click that button and a dialog box opens where you can either search through your directory tree or just paste the file directly into the box. Then you tab to open and the file is ready to be uploaded. You will then have to tab to the submit button.hth

Windows 10 will likely already have suitable drivers for that particular HP Model.  If you want the entire suite of software, including drivers, for your printer then HP is excellent about keeping same available for downloading from support.hp.com.  Just go through the steps to navigate to your specific printer model number and they'll be there.  The latest version may only be for Windows 8.1, and if that's the case, that's the one to fetch.

As far as WiFi setup, the printer itself is already setup.  All you need to do is go to Control Panel, Devices and Printers and open that item.  Activate the Add a printer link, then step through the process for adding a network printer.  It should find yours provided the computer and the printer are on the same WiFi network, and I am presuming that's the case.

Thank you for the feedback. The elbraille does not have a qwerty keyboard but one can connect a keyboard to the device via bluetooth or USB.
