Ann:

It’s interesting, though.

Whenever I access the bookmarks list in Google Chrome via shift control plus O, I can’t do first-letter navigation to get to my imported bookmarks list from Internet Explorer.

To do this, I have to do alt F, then B for bookmarks, and then I can use first-letter navigation to my Inernet Explorer bookmarks list.

Not sure why the difference.

Shift+ctrl+o should go directly to the bookmarks list.

It would be nice, if you could assign a shortcut key to it.

Internet explorer had its ctrl+a to get to the favourites menu.

Any of the chrome based browsers that I have tried, seem to use a number of key presses to get to their version of bookmarks.

I did a little research, and I couldn’t find an extension with a ctrl+a for example to let you right at it.

Perhaps someone will right one eventually.

I am sure other people would like a single key stroke as well, coming from ie.

Hi,

What you’ll also notice is that Chrome will create a folder called Imported From IE, or Imported From Firefox, or whatever browser.

So you’ll have to either open that folder before you see the bookmarks, or do as I did, and move all the bookmarks to the bookmarks bar.  Then you can easily see them on the bar, and navigate with first letter navigation.

All the best

Steve

Hi Hank,

I am still using jaws 18 with windows 10 latest release. I did install a trial version of jaws 2020, but there was no difference.

There was a difference however, between jaws 2018 and 2020 when using the Microsoft edge version of chrome.

If you like google chrome, and your jaws 2018, try a browser called brave.

It is chrome based, but has a much lighter footprint on your computer and will work with windows 7 and 10.

I didn’t see any other replies, but for many of us Jaws 18 was so long ago, I for one don’t remember how it was different.

I assume you are still on Windows 7? Upgrading to the latest version of Jaws is also going to be more and more necessary if you want to run the latest release of Windows 10 which is coming up in the next few weeks.

I am currently using jaws18, before I go and buy jaws2020, can someone maybe please give me just a couple of examples of how google Chrome works alot better with Jaws2020 versus the older version Jaws18?

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated. Much thanks in advance for any help with this.

Take a look at either one of the Chrome extensions (which will also work in Chromium-based Edge, too) that I mention here:

https://win10.groups.io/g/win10/message/40296

If neither of those fills the bill, then do some searching in the Chrome Web Store for extensions on "download sound."

Hello, everyone.

As I stated earlier today, I am now switching from Firefox to Google Chrome as my main internet browser, and so far, things seem to be working quite well.

I do have one more question, though:

Is there a way I can configure Google Chrome to give me a download completion sound, like that which occurs in Firefox and Internet Explorer?

If so, I’d appreciate instructions as to how to get that sound to work.

Thanks for all the help!

I believe the MLB app is also doing radio games, but I have not checked.

A quick web search found a surprising result.

YouTube has I think 54 classic dodger radio broadcasts.

I sampled one from 1967 against the St. Louis Cardinals,  the sound quality was poor, but understandable.

I hope that helps a little,

Richard

You can open the Bookmarks Manager with CTRL+SHIFT+O, or you can hit ALT+F,B,Enter to display the bookmarks list, which you can navigate down through, or you can display the Bookmarks Bar with CTRL+SHIFT+B (which would be the option that's likely least easy to deal with).

Hello, everyone.

Since I’m having more problems with Firefox as my main internet browser, I’ve decided to give Google Chrome a try.

I believe I have now successfully imported my favorites from Internet Explorer into Google Chrome, but can’t figure out how to access my Google Chrome bookmark list to be sure.

Can someone tell me how that bookmark list is accessed?

Thanks!
