If you do a alt plus n in the messages group you can find the insert key.

Ok, I open the menus, select “Insert” and then down arrow places me in “Attach file” option and there are others if so desired.  I use this fairly often to get to recent documents and I can go anywhere in the Explorer tree to grab an item.

Glad it worked

Jim, in case Jessica’s reply wasn’t enough to remind you, she means just go to whatever file you want to attach using File Explorer, copy it to the clipboard with Control + C, then go to Outlook and start your message, put in the recipient and subject and once you are in the message body field use Control + V to paste, this will attach the file as a proper attachment. You can then write your message and send. Of course you can first address the email, fill in the subject and write what you want to write and use the steps above last to attach your file, only thing to remember is that you have to be in the message body field when you press Control + V to paste in your file, it will not work to attach it if you are in the subject or any other header field.

Hi Jim, to attach a file to an email message, I press Alt and then hit your right arrow once until you hear the word Insert. Then press the tab key once and you’ll hear Attach file. Press the Enter key and then I believe you can press the Tab key to navigate to find your file you want?

I hope this helps.

What do you to to get an insert option? I find nothing on the menus to do this.
When I followed the directions to paste a link to the file, the email did not get sent. And I received a notification that it was undeliverable but no other explanation and no way to open the notification? Really strange behavior.

Then you cam type in your to in the outlook field.

It is best that you have outlook open before you do that.

First copy the address.  Them put a copy on the clipboard by using the keystroke Ctrl+C.  Then go to the e-mail message you want to attach it to.  In the body of the message where you want to paste it, use the keystroke Control+V.Use the keystroke

Jim,

The easiest way I know is the following:

Place focus at the filename in the folder where you have the file.

Copy with control-c.

Create the message you wish to send.

Place focus in the body of the message, and paste with control-v.

It’s counterintuitive, but the file will show up as an attachment, not as part of the message body.

I hope this works for you.

If you have Openbook installed, the Freedom Import Printer will be one of the printer options.

Open the document, hit print control+p and select Freedom Import Printer.

That will cause Openbook to open and scan the document.

Then you can save or copy and paste the text somewhere else.

Hi Amir,

That means someone has scanned the message in, instead of keying it in. In other words, they took a picture of it with a camera. The only way you might be able to read it is to use OCR. Although it might be a picture rather than text. I notice that someone else has already told you how: alt plus space; then O and then D.

Hi,

Easiest way is to find and copy your file in Windows Explorer to the clipboard, then create a new message in outlook, then paste  it in with Control+V.

All the best

Steve
