Yes, and it is not doable to have JAWS installed on the remote computer if you work for a large company, especially if you could be connected to a different server each time you connect based on load balancing.

You can definitely code in python. I believe jaws has a feature that will read you the indentation levels. When I did coding in python, I was using a different screen reader primarily. notepad++ is an editor used by many sighted and I would suggest you use it. If you’ll be working with your colleagues, find out what editors they use, and perhaps we on this list can tell you if it is accessible.

Hi, To be completely honest with you, I don’t know if you could do python with Jaws but, I do know where you could learn it. There is a website where about every Tuesday Or so, a lot of people meet and work on things together. I’m a part of that website but I’ve never been to a class before so I’m not really sure what they do in the Python programming class. You can join by following the link below though. Hi, Tammy. This happens because when you are in a browser, most of the time, arrowing moves the Virtual Cursor, not the PC Cursor. If you use the TAB key to move to the links, you are actually focused on the link. You can also use INSERT (or JAWS Key), plus F7 to enter the links list. You should be able to activate the link from the Links List by pressing ENTER on the link if you Arrow to the link shown in the Links List.

My problem is solved 😊. Here are my results with the various suggestions on my particular computer and again my thanks to everyone who responded.
Hit "F6" and tab to enter. The first time I did this I found a setting that needed to be changed using radio buttons. It was set to not allow protected view removal. Now protected view is still on by default but can be disabled here as well as with the next two methods below, which did not work until I changed this setting. If you have the file in Word, "Alt F" then the letter "I" then the letter "E." This works now and "E" stands for enable. "Using control s for save as will give you the ability to save it as a new file. You will have to take over when you press control s and select disabled protected view, or something like that." This works now. It saves the file with the current name. " If the file is downloaded from the internet, go into context menu, select property and uncheck the unblock checkbox. If that still doesn't work, quite likely the file has been set to protected by the author." I have used this method in the past but could not remember the word "unblock" yesterday. These particular files do not offer "unblock," but I noted it for future files.

Yes, you can code Python using JAWS. I don’t do such things, but apparently the biggest trick is keeping track of indentation. A free text editor called EdSharp is designed to do this, among lots of other things. If you want it, I will try to come up with the GitHub link.

Hi Kevin, It works relatively well with comments and track changes, but I find comments easier to work with. Whilst JAWS will read track changes, it doesn’t have a particularly intelligent or contextual way of describing what’s changed. When using comments or track changes, I recommend you use the interface you get when you press Windows key semi-colon. Once you’ve chosen comments or track changes - Word calls them revisions - from the list, you’ll have the various changes presented in the virtual buffer. Each entry is hyperlinked so that activating it takes you to the relevant part of the text. Cheers, Ed

Hi Kevin, I use Microsoft word regularly because I’m a college student. I hope you do it good with Microsoft word 2016 because the last I remember is that I got serious troubles with the comments in this particular version, of course, that was almost a year ago when I decided to switch to office 2019 and check it there was any enhancement in this regard. I was proven to be right, and since then I’ve been using this version, but may be these Microsoft guys fixed the issue with the comments in the 2016 version.
anyway, to help you out, I will give you a few keyboard shortcuts that will surely make your life easier when text processing.
First and foremost, when you are in a document, press jaws key plus h, and this will bring up a very helpful list of commands that you can use, including commands for listing comments, grammar mistakes, etc.
Secondly, to insert a comment, select a word and press control plus alt plus m. Thirdly, to reply to a comment I do the following: I locate the jaws cursor before the word that contains the comment, and press alt plus r plus n. Important! This key combination is a word combination, so you do not press all of them at once, but one followed by the other. This will locate the cursor exactly over the comment you want to reply to. Now what you have to do is is to bring up the context menu and arrow down until you find the option to reply.
As a side note, if everything is working fine in your version of Microsoft word, I strongly suggest disabling automatic updates because in my experience some updates can really mess the accessibility.
