Yes, everybody wants your mind these days, for sure. It's not the data they want, it's the experiences they can cause you to have once they get the data. If those aren't in line with what you want, then be careful.

Since I had to go and completely uninstall/re-install jaws and all components, I find the following and ask if you can help this not do this...

as I add a number list, I then hear automatic spelling error. How do I turn off automatic spelling?

As I arrow through the numbered list and out thereof, I hear level 1 when entering the said list and level 0 when I exit this list. How do I turn this feature off to not state levels?

Hi,

I will assume that you have this version number of the new Microsoft Edge:

Microsoft Edge Version 81.0.416.68

You also need to be running the latest version and build:

Version 2020.2004.66

This is JAWS 2020. This build came out earlier this week.

If you don’t have JAWS 2020 and this latest build you can download a free use of JAWS from the Freedom Scientific website which will be good until the end of June.

Hi All,

I have just installed the new chrome edge (stable version).

Can anyone make sense of this so called new brilliant browser?

No matter what i do in settings, it still insists on using the “bing” virus as a search engine. I imported my settings from google chrome, and it ignored them completely.

It wont let me edit a profile.

However, it keeps adding them. Now i have “profile1” and “profile2”.

Has anyone got rid of this “thing” after installing it?

Can someone with a science degree tell me how to use this piece of what seems to be rubbish?

Sorry, i don’t mean to be sarcastic, but i am sick and tired of Microsoft saying that their things are great, only to find, that they just don’t work with jaws.

Pat

However, I have never gotten the complaint about menu buttons versus menus.  Unless you know exactly where something is in a given menu-driven system you have to go from menu to menu and traverse them until you find it.  If it's something you use with any frequency, you then make a note of the keyboard shortcut sequence that gets you straight to it.  This is not much different at all than dealing with a menu button where the main menu is a single integrated item.  You still have to learn what is where, and make note of how to get there efficiently.  Six of one, half a dozen of another.

Hi, Maria. All you have to do is:

1. Go to the document or webpage into which you want to paste the emoji.

2. Make sure you are actually in the edit field.

3. Open the emoji panel with WinKey plus period or semicolon.

4. Find the emoji you want to paste into the edit field.

5. Press the ENTER key.

Pressing the ENTER key while an emoji is selected will paste the emoji into the document or edit field.

In the event that someone is using Leasey, which is a third party piece of software to add functionality to JAWS, you can press the Leasey key followed by shift-ctrl-E which brings up an easy to navigate list of emoji characters.
