Eloquence voices missing

Dear Friends,
I am asking this question on behalf of a friend. He was playing around with the various speech synthesizers & is now stuck with the Microsoft speech synthesizer. He is unable to find the Eloquence voices. Is it necessary to reinstall JAWS or is there a setting which can bring the Eloquence voices back? He is using JAWS 11 on a Win XP computer. My computer came with IE9 installed as default so I had to reinstall IE8 to work with Jaws 11. I'm not having any problem except with the I'm feeling lucky button. I've not installed anything from windows recently. I'm on a laptop and I'm not quite sure how to change resolution. I'm not sure if I have IE for 32 or 64 bit, didn't know there was more than one although if it did ask me I would've chosen 64. Not surprising, I've seen similar weird symptoms with Jaws11 and Win7 64 bit and web browsers (IE8 and Firefox 3.x).

Hi Jim,
You can do it using the drag and drop functionality in Jaws. To move recipient to the left so that it's before subject: 1. select the first message in the message list. 2. route the jaws cursor to the pc cursor, insert + numpad minus. 3. press insert + left arrow a few times till you get to the column names, which will include recipient, date and subject. Note that the names of the column that indicate stuff like whether the message has an attachment will be read as a numbered graphic. 4. With the jaws cursor on recipient, press ctrl+insert+numpad slash to start the drag and drop. Note that you have to use the left control key. 5. Press insert+left arrow till you get to subject. 6. press ctrl+insert+numpad slash again to complete the drag and drop. 7. press numpad plus to switch back to the pc cursor. Note that if you want to move a column to the right, then when dragging, you have to move the jaws cursor to the column which is one column after the column where you want the dragged column to end up. Jaws 11 and Thunderbird 3.1

Heya Folks,
Just been getting around thunderbird 3.1 and find it pritty good and easy to use, just want some advice where I can get Jaws to read and speak the sender first rather than the subject line of an email. I checked as much as I can but can't seem to change the Jaws reading when it says table and says my emails, subject is always spoken first. Any help will be appreciated Cheers, Jim

Easiest way is right from the message list. Press Applications key (or Shift+F10) and arrow down to view attachments. Then right arrow. Single or multiple attachments are in that list. Enter on one to "view" or "read". Once you're in the other application you should be able to save it. Then repeat for other attachments. Another method to try: I'm going to presume that you're not using the virtual ribbon. From the open message, Alt and then the 1 from the number row should bringup a dialog to save attachments. Alt + a separate number is part of the Quick Access Toolbar that comes with the Ribbon. I'm pretty sure that save attachments is linked to this shortcut. Another way: From the message body, Shift tab once and you should land in the attachmentsarea (before you get to the subject line). Arrow left and you should hear the attachment name spoken in a higher voice. Then press the applications key (or Shift+f10) and select save to save the pictures to your drive.
