Let’s attempt to isolate the issue. The goal here is to determine if fire fox is compatible with the version of windows you are running.

You may need sided help here. Be my eyes would be a good tool to use. Stop jaws and then start fire fox. If the issue persists you’re screwed. You’ll need to upgrade either windows and or jaws if you want to continue using the latest browsers which will run on windows. Thanks, abraham

Jaws’s accessibility with Microsoft store, Weather and other native Windows10 apps?

From your guys’ experience, how does Jaws behave with Windows10 native apps (apart from my experiences with Mail in which screen refreshing is required often) such as Weather, Microsoft Store and the like? Are there scripts to make native Win10 apps work better than by default, as of yet?

Hi Michael, Use the shortcut to share word docs through outlook directly. To do this, Once you have the file opened in Word that you want to share, use the commands from the word itself, and it will open up the a New Email with the word file attached to it. To send the file as an attachment : ALT + F + Z + E + A To send the file as a pdf : ALT + F + Z + E + F To send the file as an XPS : ALT + F + Z + E + X Hope this helps Pramit

Firefox, everything freezes, and Firefox seems to hang. I press Alt+Tab to get to several other programs, and it works, because JAWS can read the other programs and they respond just fine, but when I Alt+Tab back to Firefox, it says "Firefox not responding". When I press Alt+F4, it says "Firefox is not Responding", or "Firefox has stopped working.". I press "Wait For The Program To Respond", and it still hangs on. I press "Close The Program", and it says "Windows is checking for a solution". What drives me really mad is this has been happening since February 14, 2020. Even worse, when I reopen Firefox, the whole vicious cycle begins again! What do I do next?

Re: Latest JAWS consuming higher than normal memory?

What I’m noticing is that Jaws gets very sluggish while in the calendar view of outlook 2016. My fan kicks on and in general, everything slows down. This is it with an Ike or seven processor, 16 GB of RAM at an SSD. My specs are fine. This sluggishness/heavy processor usage for me only started after the March update. I wrote Vispero about this and they say they can’t reproduce it. Anyway, just something to throw out there in case others are experiencing the same.

Jaws2020 and Windows10 Mail?
Gerardo Corripio <gera1027@...>
Gerardo (Gera) from Mexico saying hello, and am very loking forward to learning all I can about Jaws! It’s been years since I’ve used it! Thus I’m too trying to refresh myself on overall functioning of the screen reader. I’m trying out the 3-month license that FS put out a few days ago to help with the Covid19, and I’m very impressed how it works with Windows10 in general! I’m using Jaws versión 2020.2003.13. However with Windows10 Mail it’s a disaster! When reading Emails, focus seems to loos itself! Having to with f6, go back to the Email itself! Also while typing Emails, I hear a constant buzzing sound, which I imagine it’s the spelling detection? How does one turn that off? Thanks for any info; this is so frustrating!
