How to mark a play button that JAWS is not picking up?
Tim Ford
Hello All,
One of my favorite video streaming sites suddenly changed a few months ago. Before the sudden change, videos would start automatically, then suddenly they would not. I had Microsoft’s nice accessibility office remote in to my computer. The guy was able to immediately spot and click the play button, but I could not figure out where the button was, so I know the cause, but not how to solve it.
Is there a way for Microsoft’s remote session person to label the button so JAWS will let me work that button? Or, is this something that can be done only by a sighted person sitting at my computer? In either case, how would they mark/label the button?

Re: upgrading Jaws

no, you can keep both versions if you want. it should ask you if you want to import the settings from the previous version, which you can say no to.

each version is installed in seperat folders you may have to change the desktop short cut keys to start each version. most of the time the new installation will not assign the control alt j keys to the new desktop icon.

Re: Accessible site for corona statistics?
There is a table, in the middle of this webpage: https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2020/world/coronavirus-maps.html?action=click&pgtype=Article&state=default&module=styln-coronavirus&variant=show®ion=TOP_BANNER&context=storyline_menu
That is a by-country table of number of cases and deaths, and the table can be expanded if you wish to look at countries not particularly hard-hit at this time. The last column is a graphic showing relative number of new cases by week since the end of January through today, and I imagine that range is constantly shifting, and given the amount of information that can be packed into said graphic I am doubting that there is alt-text that runs through each on a week-by-week basis. -- Brian - Windows 10 Pro, 64-Bit, Version 1909, Build 18363 Tolerance is the positive and cordial effort to understand another's beliefs, practices, and habits without necessarily sharing or accepting them. ~ Joshua Liebman

Understanding the Jaws version numbers?
Jay <jcoffin@...>
Hi.
I’m just curious how to understand the Jaws version numbers. For example, 2020.2003.13 I know that 2020 is the year the version is released, and 202003 is the year and month it was released, but what are the last numbers? What is the 13 meaning? Is it a build number or something?
Thanks.
