Conflating the two in contexts where trying to delete via keyboard is not at all uncommon. Since it's so common to backspace out characters to delete them the two keys often become synonymous with each other. Using the DEL key to remove an address entry from the autocomplete list has been around for as long as I can remember. But I also find that many people beoome very hostile when the concept of "user error" is introduced. Each and every one of us has committed user error way more than one time, and that's why it's always worth taking a second look as to whether instructions were followed to the letter. -- Brian - Windows 10 Pro, 64-Bit, Version 1909, Build 18363 Tolerance is the positive and cordial effort to understand another's beliefs, practices, and habits without necessarily sharing or accepting them. ~ Joshua Liebman

Hi Brian,
Yes, this does in fact work, I must, to my shame, admit that last night when I tried it I actually backspaced instead of pressing delete after typing a letter. I am using Office 365 with Jaws 2020 on a Windows 10 computer and when I just tried it again by typing the letter “B” I had a couple of addresses pop, among others, an old address I used to communicate with somebody at a Bed Bath and Beyond store about a return a few years ago. After I came across this one I pressed delete and it disappeared. I then closed the compose window and then started a new email, now when I typed B I had other addresses pop up which I also had before, but the Bed Bath and Beyond address was indeed gone.

All I need to do, as Cher noted, is arrow down through the autocomplete list that pops up after I've typed a character or two to limit the list, and hit the Delete key on any item I land on that I want eliminated from the autocomplete list.
They disappear immediately, and if I open another compose window and start entering the same character(s) in the To, CC, or BCC fields those addresses that I deleted remain gone. Re: Outlook 2016: Is it possible to remove items from the addresses autocompletion list?
I have someone for whom I've done custom scripting work write to me over the last several days saying the scripts that had been fine for well over a year now suddenly stopped working. The version where they stopped working: Microsoft Outlook Subscription Version 16.0.12527.20242
Rolling back to Microsoft Outlook Subscription Version 16.0.12527.20194 brought 'em back to life. I have actual, locally installed, Office 2016 which includes Outlook. Office 365, while sharing a lot of DNA with Office 2016 and 2019, is still a different animal that could have different bugs introduced. When I go into the File Tab, Office Account Tab, and look under About Outlook it says that it's on Version 2002 (Build 12527.20242 Click-to-Run). My Office is Office Professional Plus 2016. -- Brian - Windows 10 Pro, 64-Bit, Version 1909, Build 18363 Tolerance is the positive and cordial effort to understand another's beliefs, practices, and habits without necessarily sharing or accepting them. ~ Joshua Liebman

I am not experiencing this full deletion as some others have noted. The “deleted” address entry is back in the list the next time I go to type in an address in the autocompletion options. Hi all,
With Jaws 2020, I’d like to know whether there is a way to remove one or more items from the address autocompletion list of Microsoft Outlook 365.
With older Outlook versions like 2010, and older versions of Jaws, I could select one no more wanted address and type the <delete> key instead of the <tab> key and it was removed from the autocompletion list. But now, this does not seem to work with the Outlook 2016 app which was installed by my subscription to Office 365, and Jaws version 2020.2001.70.
Many thanks in advance for any advice. Have a nice day. Chris D

Re: Question regarding searching:
You'll get no argument from me with regard to the typing plus autocomplete crosstalk going on being distracting. Hence the reason when I know that someone wants as close to silence (you probably do want words to be announced as you complete them) as you can get and a search is complex to formulate your search criteria either in a text editor or word processor, then copy and paste.
Everyone has their own preferences, which is fine, but when it comes to turning off autocomplete that has certain ramifications that may not have been considered. Sometimes using workarounds turns out to be preferable, sometimes not. Do alt T and up arrow to options and enter, and
