Dondi, keep in mind that I'm still using Outlook 2003. So in my case:
toggle quoted messageShow quoted text
1. Open a message. 2. Press F4. 3. Type the search string and press enter. Focus will land on the string, if it appears in the message. As I recall, Ed said to press shift-F4 to find a second instance of a search string. Try that in Outlook 2010. It hasn't worked for me in Outlook 2003. Instead, I press F4 again, hear the same search string and press enter. Note that once I close a message, the search string disappears, so I have to re-enter it if I want to find that same search string in another message. Also, I don't find Outlook searches as reliable as they are in, say, MS Word or WordPerfect. It could be due to any number of factors, such as slight variations in how the targeted text appears.

I'm using Outlook 2007. I get slightly different controls. I'm first put into a messages page in a multi-page dialog. 1. The first edit is a combo box that allows me to type my search string, or use a previous one. 2. Tab once and there is a list of Message Subject Field, Only, Subject Field and Message Body, or Frequently-Used Text Fields. 3. Then there are two buttons, From and Sent To, each followed by an edit field. 4. There are check boxes and other Edit Combos for attributes like I'm the only person on the TO: line, or I'm on the CC: line, etc. 5. On the other tab pages are attributes you can set for size of message, the presence of attachments, time sent, time received, etc. 6. Then Alt+n starts the search. F6 does bring up the list but I always have to Alt+x to expand it so that the lines are readable. It did exactly what it was supposed to do. Immediately shut down and unload JAWS. So of course it's not able to tell you that in training mode. It's a very strong way to excise JAWS when your system is apparently locked up and you suspect that JAWS is doing it. Wait a few seconds and load JAWS by: 1. Windows+R and type JAWS13 (for JAWS 13) or 2. Ctrl+Alt+J or 3. Windows+M to minimize all applications and press J, then Enter. #3 requires that only JAWS has a desktop icon beginning with the letter "J".
