Hello. While I have not used Kaspersky Total Security I have been using Kaspersky Antivirus for approximately five years with both JAWS as well as with NVDA. I can definitely confirm your findings. I won't say much about using Kaspersky with NVDA since this is a JAWS-specific list. However, the following link will take you to a detailed review which I wrote discussing NVDA's performance with Kaspersky. When using Kaspersky Antivirus with JAWS I have sometimes seen JAWS being able to read the various controls as I navigate to them with tab or shift-tab but this accessibility seemed to stop working after a while. I am guessing this could have been due to a Kaspersky program update but I cannot confirm this without uninstalling it and reinstalling an earlier version which I honestly don't wish to do. For now the tab key reads nothing and, as you say, using the touch cursor is necessary when navigating in the main window. If you access the program from the system tray choosing the Settings or Task Manager options may be more accessible with JAWS. I do feel that some scripting could solve for many of these issues. Once I learn a little more about scripting I am willing to try and write some Kaspersky scripts but it's going to be a while before this can happen.

The first problem I have noticed and wanted to discuss is JAWS support for the Kaspersky Total Security package. I use this software and it is essential for me to have this one pretty wellaccessible.. The competing screenreader works with it OK, however JAWS has its problems. Tab and Shift+Tab seem not to work at all while I am in the PC Cursor mode. I have to use the touch cursor to operate the software, and it is not always convenient to use this specific cursor.

Moreover this behavior is very illogical to me, as KTS’s interface seems to be standard WPF or something of that sorts.

Maybe I am doing something wrong (I’m pretty new to JFW, I use it for less than a year).

Have you tried activating the button with your virtual cursor off? Also, have you got the option simulating left click on enter enabled?

Hey group,

I’m using Jaws 2020 and I’ve tried to activate a menu button on Paypal. Specifically, it’s in Invoice Activity. I’ve tried with Edge, Firefox 72.0.1  and Chrome 80.0.3987.122. Here’s the speech history:

Column 10
Actions
Remind
Button‑ 
button menu‑ collapsed‑
Column 11

I’ve tried PC, Jaws and Touch cursors and from the list of buttons. It doesn’t open a menu, it just takes me to the detail page of the selected invoice. (No go with NVDA, either, for what it’s worth.)

I need to cancel the invoice, and I read that option is in this menu I can’t get to open.

Ideas will be most welcome.

Thanks,

Good day sir,
whenever such a think happens, press F11 to maximize the browser window, atleast in Chrome. Keep in min though you will not be able to access the left alt menu while the browser is maximized. You need to press F11 again to restore the browser window to its original state again.
Best,
Nuno.

Ctrl+Shift+D lists all visible cells with data.  With the program maximized, you should be able often to find the first cell with data.

All of these methods are useful for copying the entire sheet.  Can we touch on the other part of John’s question?  That is, if you know there is data in the sheet, but you aren’t sure where it starts, is there a way to find the first cell with data in it?  For example, I was organizing an event recently and the hotel was sending me the list of room reservation details for my attendees.  It appears the worksheet was formatted to look pretty when printed with a logo graphic at the top,  What was tricky was that it took me a while to find the first cell with data in it, as they had left the first few columns and top few rows empty for visual appeal.  I was going row by row down the worksheet  trying to find the first  cell with meaningful data in it so that I could copy it to my own planning file, which was somewhere around c15.  If you know one of the cell’s contents, I suppose you can do a find that then jump to the top of the row or columns, but I wonder if there is another way.

Have you tried clicking on he element when in touch cursor mode or when virtual pc cursor is turned off? Sometimes Pay Pal works better in some instances when out of virtual pc cursor.

If you use control and any arrow key, you'll land on the first filled cell in that direction. Using control shift and the arrow keys will select that area. If you're on A13 and you press control shift down arrow, and there's a list that goes down to row 75, then your selection will be from A13 to A75.

Another way to do it is to press alt+h, then o, then m to get into the move/copy sheet dialog. Select the sheet you want to copy before, then Tab once to 'copy' and check it. At 12:12 PM 3/3/2020, you wrote:

Hello, the unique thing with Excel is that if you press control A for
select all, it will select only the current data range, stopping where
there are blank cells, regardless if there are more cells in the
worksheet. If you press control A a second time, the entire worksheet
will be selected. Then you can copy and paste into another worksheet.
In the Home ribbon under format cells, there are a bunch of options
for renaming and creating worksheets, and you'll want to rename that
second worksheet quickly, as well as make alterations to the copied
set of data. In that list of options is the copy worksheet option, but
the method I used above works as well.

Hi,

Have you tried going your control panel and type in the search box “mail” (without the quotes), then click on the email button. It brings you to a screen with several buttons. Find the one that says repair using your tab key and follow the screen prompts. HTH

Hi Brenda,

If you have 2-step verification turned on, then with the current gmail password you'll not be able to get your email through outlook.

To be able to receive gmail email through outlook, open your gmail account and navigate to security and then Turn On Less Secure App Access

And create a password for your outlook and use that new generated password to login to your outlook account.

Hope this helps

I am using jaws 2019 on windows 1903. I have Microsoft 2016. I am having a problem with Outlook receiving my Gmail. It had been working before I traveled. Even though I took my hotspot with me for Wi-Fi connection I was on able to originally get my email through outlook on my laptop. Eventually I was able to make it work through Gmail by responding to a critical alert and letting them know it was me. Now that I am back I cannot get my email to come through on Outlook. I continually receive a prompt to enter my password for my Gmail account. It is properly entered. I hit OK and I get the same message over and over again. I did go into Gmail and set up second verification using a text message. I’m not sure if that is interfering with things now or not. I had the problem before I set up the second verification process. I would love to hear any thoughts on what to do. Thanks.

Hi,

I had to reset my computer today.

After the reset, I noticed that the mobile versions of the office apps, except Outlook were installed.

Outlook wasn’t there, so I figured I’d give the win10 mail app another shot.

I’ve used it before, but its been at least a year, since I tried it last.

Its working well, but I can’t figure out how to change the order of accounts, or if that’s even possible?

Thanks,

Jessica
