Re: using excel mobile with jaws 2020?
Also, reporting such things to the Vice President of Software Product Management at Vispero is probably not the best approach, I doubt Eric has the time to deal with everybody’s little issues, imagine if all Jaws users would send their questions to him, he’d get 10,000 emails a day.

Hi, I
Sent from Mail for Windows 10 Was using excel with jaws2020 earlier, and noticed that jaws says, “a”1”, and will not read the cell content. As a workaround, I’m having to use Narrator. Is this expected behavior from jaws?
How do I report this to FS? I may email Erik.
Thanks,

I have no issues with Jaws not reading what’s in cells, but why are you using Excel Mobile and not the desktop version?

I cannot comment on NVDA, although I use NVDA, it isn't my primary screenreader. Both work well with Jaws, someone recently reported something odd with Libra and Jaws, but I don't recall the issue. Glenn

That’s just a webpage. Hit ctrl-l to go to another page, and go to preferences and assign your own default homepage, and you won’t see that again – unless the sign up option is on the toolbar somewhere and I can’t remember. In any case, you shouldn’t have to worry about bypassing it…

I don’t know where this idea that you need to set up an account with Mozilla to use Firefox came from. Yes, the Mozilla Firefox default webpage that loads when you first start the programme offers you the opportunity to create a mozilla account and lists a few perks for doing so, but it really has nothing to do with whether you can use the browser or not. I have never bothered to do it, though I may someday – there seem to be some privacy related advantagesa nd, after all, I have a google account which is always signed in with Chrome – can’t be any worse than that. :D

So, you're also the sap user, great!
Thanks God, its not a citrix environment. Would you please share with me what SAP and JAWS version you're using? Are you using the sap gui to login to the server, with user id and password? Sap configuration at server end? (if you know them.) How was the accessibility after enable scripting on server? For what specific purpose you're using sap? I.e. I have to mostly use it for sending tax receipts. Perhaps you consider this reply as bombardment of questions but I'm just curious. Thanks for replying. Best regards....

facebook messenger issue with chrome/IE and jaws
James English
Hello,
Previously, both chrome and IE were displaying facebook messenger pages absolutely fine with jaws. However recently, when I log in, I don't see what would be considered the top half of the screen (the search box, the settings menu etc), and jaws doesn't read out the names of the people in my recent messages list. Does anybody have an idea why this would be/how I can fix it? - James

Hi Hank, you don’t really need to enter any provider data. When you’re
connected to the internet, the browser will automatically display websites,
unless you need a proxi. Or are you refering to checking provider e-mail using
your browser? Regards, Nermin

Hello back Dave and everyone,
First of all, thanks very much for all your very helpful replys to my
firefox questions. So I don’t need to create an account in firefox when I first
start using it after I get a newer version of Jaws to be able to successfully
use it?
I am also wondering once I have installed firefox, what are the menu steps
I need to do to enter my internet provider user id and password info so I can
successfully access the internet when I start firefox each time to do things on
the internet? Thanks very much in advance for any help I can maybe get with
this.
Warmest regards,
All the best,

The last time I installed FireFox, I got prompts to
