Also, with Firefox Send, you can upload files up to 2.5 GB and password protect, set to expire after X amount of days or downloads.

Chrome’s now my main browser, but having a Firefox account is handy. No different really than signing into your Google account in Chrome on different machines I suppose.

The advantage of having an account is that if you use two devices or if you ever get another computer that all you have to do is log in and all your history, extensions, bookmarks and so on are synced between devices or to a new computer.

I am currently using 2019, but I was using it with 18 with no problems.

And no, you don't need to create an account, I've never heard of that.

It's very similar to setting up IE or Chrome, in fact, you can use it just fine without even setting it up, only installing it.

Then you might want to set a home page, which is in preferences.

What version are you using of Jaws with firefox?I have heard that when you are first setting up firefox that you need to first create a account in firefox and that each time after that when you go on the internet with your setup firefox that you need to sign into your firefox account to be able to do anything you want to do on the internet using your setup firefox browser. Can you maybe please tell me if this is the case that you first need to create a acount in firefox and then need to sign into this firefox account each time you open firefox to be able to successfully do anything on the internet? As long as you put it in the booksfolder. No reason to pull the card, though; there is a keyboard combination you can use while you turn on the display to have it seen as an external drive. That litttle card isn't all that easy to deal with directly.

Is it a file with a .ZIP extension?
First you have to unzip it and there should be a BRF file, and you should put that into the Braille display.
It should have an SD card to copy it into, and then find it via the file menu of the Braille display.

I would open the file with wordpad and silence the synth so it isn't
blabbing on and on while you are trying to read.

That's what I used to do anyway. The one problem with this approach
is you won't be able to mark your place unless you actually insert
something into the file. I used to write three asterisks and the
words stopped reading here. That way when you open the book again
you will be able to easily find where you left off reading.

You really need to try and provide more information and maybe double check the file extension.
As others pointed out, a "dbf" file is a database file and it has nothing whatsoever to do with Jaws OCR, Openbook or OCR in general.
Jaws OCR can read image files which can be PDF, JPG, TIF etc. In older versions of Jaws only PDF files can be recognized with OCR, I think the ability for Jaws to do OCR on other imageformats such as JPG, TIF, PNG etc. was introduced in Jaws 2019, maybe it was 2018, but certainly not before then.
It may help if you explained where the file came from, what is supposed to be in it and I guess even better would be if you could share it with the list as long as the information is not personal/confidential.
If you Google "How to open or read a DBF file", you find all sorts of articles, there apparently is a free "DBF Viewer" utility you can download, there are online conversion tools and it seems that you can also open a DBF file directlyin Microsoft Access or Microsoft Excel.

No - JAWS OCR will not be able to read a .DBF because it is a database
file - You would need to use a DBF viewer but that may not be accessible.

FYI - a DBF holds more than textual information - Data is stored within the
file in an array with multiple records and fields.

I don't think Sherry knows that a DBF file stands for Data Base Format
which holds tectual information. it isn't graphical nore is it a
document, so JAWS's OCR won't work to read it.

I am currently using 2019, but I was using it with 18 with no problems.
And no, you don't need to create an account, I've never heard of that.
It's very similar to setting up IE or Chrome, in fact, you can use it just fine without even setting it up, only installing it.
Then you might want to set a home page, which is in preferences.

I think you go into your bookshelf on the BARDmobile app, look for the Braille book you want (this’ll b under th Braille books item in the library tab), and open the book. I haven’t worked with this much, but I think you need to next press m on your display to get to the beginning of your first volume of the book. Don’t hesitate to go to the help file on BARDmobile for more assistance. If you’d like, download the brf file into your computer, open up your focus drive—kinda hard to do but plug in the Focus while, at the same time pressing left pan and power at the same time. After that, navigate to your books in the scratchpad, paste the copied brf in, and make sure to close that and remove Focus with eject/safely remove hardware. After that, note that the brf is there in the books section of scratchpad and read that way. In that way, the display keeps your position/not sure ot would with BARDmobile.

I would open the file with wordpad and silence the synth so it isn't blabbing on and on while you are trying to read.

That's what I used to do anyway. The one problem with this approach is you won't be able to mark your place unless you actually insert something into the file. I used to write three asterisks and the words stopped reading here. That way when you open the book again you will be able to easily find where you left off reading.

Have you enabled allow scripting in accessibility settings? Note that if your SAP environment work with a server/client connection, the administrators must allow scripting on the servers as well. Not only on the client.

                           Recently I start working for an accounts office, where most of the day to day business transactions are performed in SAP. For instance, generating pay slips of employees, collecting/sending tax receipts etc.

As per the SAP manual, I configure the accessibility options, screenreader extension is installed, scripting is enable, and using the classic theme. But still JAWS is not supporting with this software.

Although at initial connection setup and log in screen, JAWS works well, yet after logging in it almost stop supporting the application.

For instance, If I open a new document, JAWS cannot read anything with pc cursor. I have to use the jaws cursor all the times. Not only this, even in tables, it cannot read out, in which cell (row/column) currently I’m in, and its headers. And it makes inputting the data into tables almost impossible.

I would like to ask from you that is there any special configuration which I might be missing? I heard that SAP is accessible with JAWS, so there is must be some issue with my installation or with the configuration.

I’m using the SAPGUI 7.4 and the JAWS 2020 Feb release.

Any help from the experienced SAP user or from anyone is appreciated in advance.

Such as Open Office or Libra Office.
Not sure I guess why you are wanting to scan it with OCR.

No - JAWS OCR will not be able to read a .DBF because it is a database
file - You would need to use a DBF viewer but that may not be accessible.

FYI - a DBF holds more than textual information - Data is stored within the

I don't think Sherry knows that a DBF file stands for Data Base Format which
holds tectual information. it isn't graphical nore is it a document, so
JAWS's OCR won't work to read it.

a dbf file is a database file. I don't think it will work with JAWS's OCR

No, you cannot download a book from the iphone to the braille display. Maybe some day they will write an app for such, that's what it would take.

As long as you put it in the booksfolder. No reason to pull the card, though; there is a keyboard combination you can use while you turn on the display to have it seen as an external drive. That litttle card isn't all that easy to deal with directly.

First you have to unzip it and there should be a BRF file, and you should put that into the Braille display.
It should have an SD card to copy it into, and then find it via the file menu of the Braille display.

is you won't be able to mark your place unless you actually insert
something into the file. I used to write three asterisks and the
words stopped reading here. That way when you open the book again you

                                Recently I start working for an accounts office, where most of the day to day business transactions are performed in SAP. For instance, generating pay slips of employees, collecting/sending tax receipts etc.

As per the SAP manual, I configure the accessibility options, screenreader extension is installed, scripting is enable, and using the classic theme. But still JAWS is not supporting with this software.

Although at initial connection setup and log in screen, JAWS works well, yet after logging in it almost stop supporting the application.

For instance, If I open a new document, JAWS cannot read anything with pc cursor. I have to use the jaws cursor all the times. Not only this, even in tables, it cannot read out, in which cell (row/column) currently I’m in, and its headers. And it makes inputting the data into tables almost impossible.

I would like to ask from you that is there any special configuration which I might be missing? I heard that SAP is accessible with JAWS, so there is must be some issue with my installation or with the configuration.

I’m using the SAPGUI 7.4 and the JAWS 2020 Feb release.

Any help from the experienced SAP user or from anyone is appreciated in advance.

What version are you using of Jaws with firefox?I have heard that when you are first setting up firefox that you need to first create a account in firefox and that each time after that when you go on the internet with your setup firefox that you need to sign into your firefox account to be able to do anything you want to do on the internet using your setup firefox browser. Can you maybe please tell me if this is the case that you first need to create a acount in firefox and then need to sign into this firefox account each time you open firefox to be able to successfully do anything on the internet? Hello,
I think you go into your bookshelf on the BARDmobile app, look for the Braille book you want (this’ll b under th Braille books item in the library tab), and open the book. I haven’t worked with this much, but I think you need to next press m on your display to get to the beginning of your first volume of the book. Don’t hesitate to go to the help file on BARDmobile for more assistance. If you’d like, download the brf file into your computer, open up your focus drive—kinda hard to do but plug in the Focus while, at the same time pressing left pan and power at the same time. After that, navigate to your books in the scratchpad, paste the copied brf in, and make sure to close that and remove Focus with eject/safely remove hardware. After that, note that the brf is there in the books section of scratchpad and read that way. In that way, the display keeps your position/not sure ot would with BARDmobile.
