Sieghard, I appreciate all of the responses I've had. I don't know the model of my keyboard and, when I tried to check the original emails around its purchase, I couldn't find the information. I'm using Windows 10 and JAWS 17 (soon to be updated to JAWS 2020). I don't have a sighted person handy just now but oculd try an old keyboard which was okay except for the letter l sticking.

I think Control+Shift+N has been around since the early days of Windows. I learned it decades ago, with all screen readers. Typical of Windows, there is usually at least two ways to do most things. In fact, until now, I didn’t know about alt+2.

Hi. The quickest way to create a new folder is to first open the folder that you want the folder to be created in. In other words, if you want to create a subfolder in your Documents folder open the Documents folder. Next, press shift-ctrl-N. You will be in an edit field. Type the name of the folder that you want to create, followed by the enter key. This thread is so large right now that I can't even remember if Don stated in his original email which version of Windows, Jaws and Office he is using. I am asking because Don asked what Narrator is and while Narrator was of limited use in Windows 7, I think most blind Windows 10 users probably have heard about it since it is being continuously being improved and has been the subject of many Podcasts and email list discussions.

Hello,
Normally, you should be able to access it the same as any other attachment. That is, open the message and hit shift tab once to place focus on it. You can then hit enter to be given various options on what to do with it. That said, your problem may be that you are using a very old version of JAWS. Probably time to update to JAWS 2020 with the annual license. David

Make sure the sender is giving you HTML-formatted mail, or plain text, not the old format that Microsoft Outlook used to generate – I think it was based on RTF.
At least in older versions of Microsoft Outlook (e.g., 2013), it was hard to find attachments in those messages.
With current Microsoft Outlook, it’s Shift+Tab after you open the message.
