I would echo the NVDA choice. You can find a great deal of documentation on the screen reader. Look at NV Access https://www.nvaccess.org/ and Narrator is also a good choice as well with good documentation on its use. Joe

Since retiring I have been involved in a number of volunteer activities. Recently I had a conversation with a local agency who is looking for a volunteer to assist clients in completing an online registration form as part of an interview process regarding potential receipt of specific services. I understand that I cannot legally use one of my additional Jaws licenses because I have the Home version. Truth to tell, other than JAWS, I have never really worked with any other screenreader programs. Some years ago, Idid a cursory review of NVDA. I understand that Narrator has improved in some measurable ways. I know that there are other programs out there. For purposes of this opportunity, where I would need to load a screenreading program onto a laptop in order to conduct the interviews, I am looking for any recommendations of open-source screen Reader programs. Any assistance is appreciated.

You may be right, digging through tw-blue, it seems like things are just thrown out in chronological order. I guess that is better than nothing, but I think I'll just use my phone.

It is hard to get much out of twitter with tw-blue. I have yet tofigure out how to actually follow a conversation with it, not for lack of trying. You can follow conversations with the hotkey alt+windows+C. But the conversation gets displayed in its own buffer, which you can either access from the tree view or by moving the buffer focus with alt+windows+left-arrow. However, the conversation buffer only shows your conversation with a user, which is vastly different from a Twitter thread. I still can't figure out how to make TWBlue display complete threads. All I get are original tweets. I'm also speculating that TWBlue does in fact display replies to tweets, but rather than group them by thread, they're in chronological order. Even so, it's hard to follow a thread when it's broken up over hundreds of tweets. Orlando Enrique Fiol

Some machines can't be upgraded. I've usually found it out the hard way, so make a backup if you are going to try.

Hi. If you are inclined to Install Cygwin, then it is where you
should go. It has a native SSH client, and, it will allow you to
work in a Linux environment on windows with very good results.
Acessibility is spot on. Cheers!

I use the ssh client included in mysys2:
Also, any ssh client run under Windows Subsystem for Linux should be fine.
There’s also a built-in ssh client in Windows 10. However, I can’t remember whether it emulates all of the terminal-related features that you’ll need if you’re working with a Linux or UNIX host. The other two options above definitely do.

KMCasey I remember before I call microsoft disability support on Thursday morning trying to get helped with cd rive that say notification updated the cd drive when I insert the audio cd so the man when on notification to open folder to do something to get the audio cd to read Addison document from 2008 thru 2014 that when I find out Thursday afternoon that jaws2019 was acted kind of funny so that when I opens my computer then arrow down to local disc then application key arrow up to scan with window defender it started scan while I was eating supper so when I got back jaws was not saying nothing at all !!

I don’t have a specific answer to your question, but whenever JAWS craps out on me, I turn on Narrator to see if I can see what’s up. If there is some kind of message or error that needs my attention, narrator will read it. If Narrator doesn’t come up or doesn’t start talking, then, yeah, a restart might be required – that does happen, too. But Narrator is pretty reliable and 80% of the time I’d say comes up talking in less than a second.

So this goes for anyone who is upgrading or going to upgrade their Windows from 7 to latest Windows 10. Mentioned Below are the basic requirements for upgrading to Windows 10. Processor: 1.8 gigahertz (GHz) or faster processor RAM: 4 gigabyte (GB) or above Hard disk space: 500 GB or larger Also some of us might still be using 2 GB of RAM and will think about upgrading so as to install the latest Windows 10, before doing that please confirm with your system manufacturer, weather your system support a higher RAM or not. If you have the above requirement then you can easily upgrade to Windows 10 and for upgrading you must have the licensed copy or an Activated Version of the previous Windows 7 on your current computer. To make sure that your system doesn't act in a sluggish way, keep the Windows Update option always Turned On, so that all the necessary updates and security patches are added automatically. Note: if you're going to try the update process, I would make sure your windows 7 machine is using a wired connection. https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=691209 this is a link to download the windows 10 media tool The impossible is the untried, Never under estimate the power of a dream. -----Original Message----- From: main@jfw.groups.io <main@jfw.groups.io> On Behalf Of John Covici Sent: Friday, January 31, 2020 5:46 PM To: main@jfw.groups.io Subject: Re: Facebook Messenger the upgrade I heard about was for anyone on the same page where they want you to buy it, I understand.
