accessible password managers

Hi all, I'm currently using Chrome to save my passwords and want to move to a dedicated password manager. I'm looking at Last Pass and 1Password. Any feedback on either program would be much appreciated. I am mainly wondering if one is more accessible than the other. I use JAWS on Windows and VoiceOver on iOS. Thanks, Mike

a strange message when I boot up my computer.

Hi all, When I boot up my computer, this is what I hear. The freedom scientific video disability driver did not install properly. It tells me to reboot up my computer, and do a repair to the driver. When I try to do a repair, it always fails to repair. How do I fix this? I am currently using jaws 2020, latest update. However, it does the same thing when I try jaws 19 or 18as well. I am running windows ten. Any ideas on how to fix this? and thanks for your help in advance. Jim

If Rumola still works with Chrome then you can use it with Edge as well since you can install extensions from the Chrome extension store in Edge. Both Chrome and Edge use chromium as their engine, but I wouldn’t call it “another copy cat” just as I wouldn’t call a new model of a Ford car a copy cat to a new model of a GM or vice versa just because both use an internal combustion engine. It comes down to personal preference, for example, Edge does have the Read Aloud feature which works very well and which you can sort of do in Chrome but only with one of a number of extensions.

I don’t, but once again my recommendation of Aira or Be My Eyes stands unless you don’t have a smartphone. I also haven’t come across a non-accessible captcha in a long time, a lot of times you just have to check “I’m not a robot” and in the new occasions where this doesn’t work and there really is no audio option using Aira is fast and efficient.

There are settings in firefox to disable this, as well as in edge and chrome. Becoming familiar with the web browser and its settings is essential these days since there are so many things to enable or disable. It's also good to have a few browsers at your disposal - for instance, Chrome, edge, and firefox - just in case a website doesn't play nice with one or the other. I'm using Chrome, at least until I get the new Microsoft Edge, with firefox as a very little used backup. I stopped using it as my main browser when I realized just how much faster Chrome loaded web pages. Hope that helps. It's a lot to take in and learn, at least at first, but a lot of web browsers share core functions such as remembering passwords, clearing history and temporary internet files, auto complete e.g. remembering usernames or searches that you type in the address bar. It just may be phrased a little differently in each.

You can turn this off and, for myself, I never liked Firefox all that much even during it's best days and they seem to be long since over. In fact, I think just as most sighted people, most visually impaired users now use Google Chrome. Some still use Firefox, but from what I see on the few lists I am on it is not that many any more and they have lost a lot of market share in the last few years.

After many installations and uninstallations, I now seem to have an accessible copy of edge on my computer. For some reason one of the versions I’d downloaded seemed to be in Japanese. Anyway, thanks to those who have commented on my previous email. All is ok now.

I’ve just installed the new edge from the Microsoft website and I’m finding it not very accessible with JAWS. First of all when navigating around pages you get it saying “Japanese” some of the time as well as the page content. Also, the menu controls are not always read out. I’m using the latest build of JAWS 2020. Any input is much appreciated.
