For the past couple of days, I have been getting a notification about a new JAWS update.  Presently, I am using JAWS 2019.  Is this true?  Usually, on this list there is a posting about “New JAWS Update and What’s New,” but I have not seen that yet.  So, I am wondering if this notification I am getting is real - or if it is some sort of malicious virus?

What is the point of Kill JAWS?  You can just hit JAWS Key plus F4 to exit JAWS, or remove it completely through the Control Panel Add/Remove Programs.

if you really need to you could create shortcut to desktop,

 

the windows-key+insert-key+f4=kil/unload jaws from memory.

1, desktop;

2, ctrl+spacebar making sure there is no icon selected,

4, arrow and enter on, new shortcut,

your now being asked,
Type the location of the item:
here you would type in:

"C:\Program Files\Freedom Scientific\Runtime JAWS\15.0\JFWKill.exe"

5, tab next enter,

here your being asked to give the shortcut a name,
you will see,
"C:\Program Files\Freedom Scientific\Runtime JAWS\15.0\JFWKill.exe"
you can change this to killjaws, or whatever you wish, now tab finish, press
enter.

heck you could even create an hotkey if your little heart desires.

I am experiencing that also, and since nobody mentioned it on this list, I have held off downloading it.  Does someone know if this is legit?  I thought 2019 had a new version very recently that I had installed, and this update is coming up close on its heels.  In the past, that has meant JAWS found some flaws after they released an update, and the new update is to correct that.  Anyone know?
