A question about Waterfox
Hello everyone:
I am using Waterfox at the suggestion of someone on this list. So far, I am finding a good browser to use.
My problem is, how do I disable Water fox saving passwords?
Any and all suggestions will be very much appreciated.

Hi, I tried a handful of off-line virus scanners today, and this one was the only one to work with NVDA in WinPE. This is a good way to scan for viruses, because your system is off-line when booted to WinPE. This a link to it in my Open Drive. It's called MWAV.exe https://od.lk/d/N18xNjU3MzkwNzdf/mwav.exe There is an update you can tab to before running the scanner, it will update its definitions.

If this is the case, you can get one from WalMart for around $10.

Yes, no password can be bypassed by taking out a small piece. I still would like to know about Windows passwords and if they can really be discovered as easily as Glen and some others here say they can. As for Apple, what was said is correct. This case was when those two people shot and killed a bunch of people during this Christmas party I think in California and I think it was now 2 years ago or maybe even 3. Apple said they can't get into the iPhone which, by the way, was not as secure as today's iPhones are, and I think the FBI hired some Israeli company who tried to get in, millions were spent and I honestly can't remember if they succeeded or not. As for the Face Id thing and a thief pointing it at you that is only correct to some degree. If somebody snatched your iPhone and stuck around all you would have to do is cover your Face with your hands if you are worried. At the same time if a thief stuck around they could just as easily grab your hand and put your finger on the Touch Id home button or, even better, ask you for the passcode. If somebody is that callus I doubt a lot of people would keep their passcode to themselves after a few slaps or punches or being shoved to the ground and kicked a few times which some such thieves probably have few scruples to do. The fact is that even if he can unlock your phone once with Face Id, he has to make sure it doesn't lock and having unlocked it with Face Id or Touch Id won't do them any good if they want to reset the phone to sell it or even if they want to get into it and disable or change the Face Id/Touch Id/PIN option. As soon as you go to Settings > Passcode you have to enter you passcode. Apple security is indeed very good, even if your phone was stolen and they have your PIN, you could wipe the phone and permanently disable it if you quickly log into iCloud and Find My iPhone also cannot be disabled without the passcode, the only way to stop it from working is to turn off the phone.

That is what I was thinking, but I never owned the decktalk, but I had the double talk in a desktop almost 30 years ago, and now have the Triple Talk which I use once in a while.
It has a voice similar to Perfect Paul, but not quite as good.
Glad to have that settled for sure
I may have to listen to more Limp Biskit, a group I had not paid attention to before this thread got started.

Anyway like I said in a previous message, it uses the same chip as the Echo speech synth. Yes, it sounds different, but that’s because of how the chip is programmed. You
could make some of the echos sound like this too but it usually took more tweaking and effort than it was worth.

I did some research and found the answer to this question through Wikipedia.
. Limp Bizkit's arrangement is notable for featuring a
Speak & Spell during the
bridge.[10] This, together with a new verse and an extra chorus, replaces the rock theme of The Who's version.
For those who do not know what a Speak and Spell is, it was a hand-held device made in the late 1970's by Texas Instruments as an educational tool. I had bought one for my Great Niece.
There is a good article on Texas Instruments and the speak and spell on Wikipedia as well.

Jaws not speaking edit field input
Hi group,
Jaws 2019 with Inventoria by NCH Software. After I have inserted text into an edit field, if I tab back to that field the text is not automatically spoken by Jaws. The only way I can read the text is to use a standard reading command like Insert num pad 2 or control left or right arrow key. I'm using beginner verbosity, but I suspect I need to change something in Jaws settings. If anyone can help out, I would appreciate it muchly.

the folks who assisted Stephen Hawking with his synthesizer told him that
they could put in a more human sounding one and he declined, and they worked
hard to find the Dectalks to keep his going. The only thing he did not
like about it was the American accent.

The song “Keep Talking” has samples of
Steven hawking speaking through his synth. Don’t really know what it is
but, it sounds rather like a Dectalk to me, with some slightly different
inflection.
Doesn’t
Pink Floyd use a synth in one of their songs?

Venom’s album Cast in
Stone also used a sample of the speak and spell saying “I win”. I laughed
when I recognised that.
Anyway like I said in a
previous message, it uses the same chip as the Echo speech synth. Yes, it
sounds different, but that’s because of how the chip is programmed. You
could make some of the echos sound like this too but it usually took more
tweaking and effort than it was worth.

I did some research and
found the answer to this question through Wikipedia.
. Limp Bizkit's arrangement is
notable for featuring a Speak
& Spell during the bridge.[10]
This, together with a new verse and an extra chorus, replaces the rock
theme of The Who's version.
For those who do not know what a
Speak and Spell is, it was a hand-held device made in the late 1970's by
Texas Instruments as an educational tool. I had bought one for my Great
Niece.
There is a good article on Texas
Instruments and the speak and spell on Wikipedia as
well.

It sounds like the old

Not sure of course as it
has been a long time since I used the hardware

Unless you are having an Internet connectivity
issue, which sometimes happens with computer infections.
These are good tools to have ready to use at
home.
I have a packed computer and it took two hours, I
think an on-line scan would take a lot longer.
Although I only use Microsoft Security Essentials I
think it doesn't hurt to have a third-party scanner check as well.
One can do Microsoft's scan as well, before going
to bed, but as I mentioned, one needs more than one tool available.
Just like we can't expect to repair a computer if
we only have one at home, you need to be able to download tools and get
information from web searches if one isn't working.

Anti-Virus Scanner Re: WinPE Downloads, was Re: Used computer
Hi, I tried a handful of off-line virus scanners today, and this one was the only one to work with NVDA in WinPE. This is a good way to scan for viruses, because your system is off-line when booted to WinPE. This a link to it in my Open Drive. It's called MWAV.exe https://od.lk/d/N18xNjU3MzkwNzdf/mwav.exeThere is an update you can tab to before running the scanner, it will update its definitions. Glenn

Do you know how to navigate to your download folder within File Explorer? What I do is open File Explorer with Windows key + E, Shift tab once to get to the tree view area then arrow down till you hear Downloads. You may need to expand one of the headers, such as This computer" to find it. Once you get there, hit the application key and arrow down to "Send To". On the submenu, select Desktop create shortcut". This will put a shortcut called "Downloads - shortcut" onto your desktop.

There are various ways to do this. Here's one: focus on the downloads folder in File Explorer. If you're already viewing it, backspace and focus on the Downloads folder from that list.
Press the context menu key, then N for Send To, then D until you hear Desktop Create Shortcut, and press enter.
