Thank you for posting the 2 links for Bryan Smart's TWPE for Windows 7. In fact, when I downloaded and extracted the Mega version, there were 2 .iso images, the basic and the mega.

It is a version of windows that loads into RAM and you can

With this you can do repairs or install Windows, get on-line

It also has a network scanner in this version to help you get

Yes, no password can be bypassed by taking out a small piece.
I still would like to know about Windows passwords and if
they can really
be
discovered as easily as Glen and some others here say they can.
As for Apple, what was said is correct. This case was when
those two
people
shot and killed a bunch of people during this Christmas
party I think in
California and I think it was now 2 years ago or maybe even 3.
Apple said they can't get into the iPhone which, by the way,
was not as
secure as today's iPhones are, and I think the FBI hired
some Israeli
company who tried to get in, millions were spent and I
honestly can't
remember if they succeeded or not.
As for the Face Id thing and a thief pointing it at you that
is only
correct
to some degree. If somebody snatched your iPhone and stuck
around all you
would have to do is cover your Face with your hands if you
are worried.
At
the same time if a thief stuck around they could just as
easily grab your
hand and put your finger on the Touch Id home button or,
even better, ask
you for the passcode. If somebody is that callus I doubt a
lot of people
would keep their passcode to themselves after a few slaps or
punches or
being shoved to the ground and kicked a few times which some
such thieves
probably have few scruples to do.
The fact is that even if he can unlock your phone once with
Face Id, he
has
to make sure it doesn't lock and having unlocked it with
Face Id or Touch
Id
won't do them any good if they want to reset the phone to
sell it or even
if
they want to get into it and disable or change the Face
Id/Touch Id/PIN
option. As soon as you go to Settings > Passcode you have to
enter you
passcode. Apple security is indeed very good, even if your
phone was
stolen
and they have your PIN, you could wipe the phone and
permanently disable
it
if you quickly log into iCloud and Find My iPhone also
cannot be disabled
without the passcode, the only way to stop it from working
is to turn off
the phone.

Id/Touch Id/PIN
option. As soon as you go to Settings > Passcode you have to
enter you
passcode. Apple security is indeed very good, even if your
phone was
stolen
and they have your PIN, you could wipe the phone and
permanently disable
it
if you quickly log into iCloud and Find My iPhone also
cannot be disabled
without the passcode, the only way to stop it from working
is to turn off
the phone.

Some computers need a USB sound card in order for you to hear NVDA

while running the Windows PE.

If this is the case, you can get one from WalMart for around $10.

You need to do insert Z to turn that off, and if it says virtual cursor off, that may be the issue.

and they have your PIN, you could wipe the phone and
permanently disable

if you quickly log into iCloud and Find My iPhone also cannot
be disabled
without the passcode, the only way to stop it from working is
to turn off
the phone.

I am using W 10, latest jaws and outlook 2019 for
email and having the following problem. When I press enter to read an email
jaws reads the heading which is name and subject and then stops and then
says message read only and at this time I press insert key and down arrow
and jaws reads the body of the email perfectly. I have checked every
setting that I can think of many times over but nothing helps. Doing a
reset does nothing. I would appreciate greatly any help on this as it is
annoying but I can live with it if I have to.
Thanks much,

I can look at sharp keys options tomorrow when I have more time but off the top of my head if you go to the key to change drop down  combo box and select the alt control key if it is there, then all you need to do is to go to the next list  and select left alt as your remapped key.

This will mean that in effect you will have 2 left alt keys mapped onto your keyboard layout  physically arranged either side of your keyboard.

I think this is what I do with the windows keys, in fact I have 2 left windows keys on my keyboard but to all practical purposes it is a right windows key and behaves as such.

The same would be the case with 2 left alt keys.

Hello David:

I installed Smartkeys this afternoon.

I already have left and right Windows keys. On European keyboards, the right ALT is configured, by default, as a combined ALT+ctrl key. Because I have got use to the US keyboard layout, with left and right ALT keys. I find the  ALT+CTRL key combination a very big annoyance, which is why, using SmartKeys, I would like to change this key combination to just being a right ALT key instead. Any ideas.

Thank for any suggestions.

Yes I think you need version 3, from memory to work on Windows 10.

It is extremely easy. Just hit the add button, then select the key you want to change from a drop down list and then tab to the next drop down list and nominate the key you want to replace it   with. In this case the application key

–  the list is alphabetical but this  key might be preceded with the word special in the list.

Then get Sharp Keys to write to registry and then restart windows.

For example On my keyboard I always change the right alt key  by the space bar into a right windows keys.  The reason I do this is that most of the useful windows key commands that I use are on the left hand side of the keyboard.  Off the top  of my head I can only think of window key M and Windows key command I use  which uses letters from the right hand side.  In contrast there are loads on the left hand side. I find it easier then to use commands like windows E, windows T,  Windows D, windows R,, windows S,    windows X, windows a and B, using my right hand to hold the new windows key and hit the letter keys with my left hand.

My fingers get mangled if I try to do all this from the left windows key.

I know I miss out on a few alt type commands but in my experience you can more often just press the left alt key and then just keep on pressing keys.

Hi,

Without sighted assistance, How can you be sure it did not boot?

Some computers need a USB sound card in order for you to hear NVDA

while running the Windows PE.

If this is the case, you can get one from WalMart for around $10.

Here's a download link:
https://od.lk/d/N18xNjQyNDQ5Mjdf/Win10PE_x86.ISO
It is a version of windows that loads into RAM and you can even remove the
boot media after it starts.
With this you can do repairs or install Windows, get on-line and even
listen

to audio.
It also has a network scanner in this version to help you get on-line.
You just cannot install to it because it will be gone on next boot-up.

Yes, no password can be bypassed by taking out a small piece.
I still would like to know about Windows passwords and if they can really
be
discovered as easily as Glen and some others here say they can.
As for Apple, what was said is correct. This case was when those two
people
shot and killed a bunch of people during this Christmas party I think in
California and I think it was now 2 years ago or maybe even 3.
Apple said they can't get into the iPhone which, by the way, was not as
secure as today's iPhones are, and I think the FBI hired some Israeli
company who tried to get in, millions were spent and I honestly can't
remember if they succeeded or not.
As for the Face Id thing and a thief pointing it at you that is only
correct
to some degree. If somebody snatched your iPhone and stuck around all you
would have to do is cover your Face with your hands if you are worried.
At
the same time if a thief stuck around they could just as easily grab your
hand and put your finger on the Touch Id home button or, even better, ask
you for the passcode. If somebody is that callus I doubt a lot of people
would keep their passcode to themselves after a few slaps or punches or
being shoved to the ground and kicked a few times which some such thieves
probably have few scruples to do.
The fact is that even if he can unlock your phone once with Face Id, he
has
to make sure it doesn't lock and having unlocked it with Face Id or Touch
Id
won't do them any good if they want to reset the phone to sell it or even
if
they want to get into it and disable or change the Face Id/Touch Id/PIN
option. As soon as you go to Settings > Passcode you have to enter you
passcode. Apple security is indeed very good, even if your phone was
stolen

I sure the original source was still up.
The only trouble with the originals were that they come as executables
with
self-burning software.
I had to use 7Zip to open the EXE archives and extract the ISO images.
If I knew how to make a checksum, I could make one of my image and

Try using Universal USB Installer, it has never failed for me.
It will burn an ISO OS to a USB drive without damaging the files.
I have even done this on external hard drives.

After connecting the USB memory stick and pressing the power

that the boot process did not work because, if it had, the laptop

It is a version of windows that loads into RAM and you can even
remove the
boot media after it starts.
With this you can do repairs or install Windows, get on-line
and even
listen

to audio.
It also has a network scanner in this version to help you get
on-line.
You just cannot install to it because it will be gone on next

Yes, no password can be bypassed by taking out a small piece.
I still would like to know about Windows passwords and if they
can really
be
discovered as easily as Glen and some others here say they
can.
As for Apple, what was said is correct. This case was when
those two
people
shot and killed a bunch of people during this Christmas party
I think in
California and I think it was now 2 years ago or maybe even 3.
Apple said they can't get into the iPhone which, by the way,
was not as
secure as today's iPhones are, and I think the FBI hired some
Israeli
company who tried to get in, millions were spent and I
honestly can't
remember if they succeeded or not.
As for the Face Id thing and a thief pointing it at you that
is only
correct
to some degree. If somebody snatched your iPhone and stuck
around all you
would have to do is cover your Face with your hands if you are
worried.
At
the same time if a thief stuck around they could just as
easily grab your
hand and put your finger on the Touch Id home button or, even
better, ask
you for the passcode. If somebody is that callus I doubt a lot
of people
would keep their passcode to themselves after a few slaps or
punches or
being shoved to the ground and kicked a few times which some
such thieves
probably have few scruples to do.
The fact is that even if he can unlock your phone once with
Face Id, he
has
to make sure it doesn't lock and having unlocked it with Face
Id or Touch
Id
won't do them any good if they want to reset the phone to sell
it or even
if
they want to get into it and disable or change the Face
Id/Touch Id/PIN
option. As soon as you go to Settings > Passcode you have to
enter you
passcode. Apple security is indeed very good, even if your
phone was
stolen
and they have your PIN, you could wipe the phone and
permanently disable
it
if you quickly log into iCloud and Find My iPhone also cannot
be disabled
without the passcode, the only way to stop it from working is
to turn off
the phone.

moderated Re: How to navigate between two clocks with JAWS

You can either go to Settings > Time and Language > Date and Time and tab until you get to Add clocks for different time zones, this will visually show these clock if you hover over the time with the mouse.

If you have Beginner verbosity or enable Tooltips in Configure Verbosity (the last item in the list) and if you then go to the system tray with Windows Key + B and go to the clock Jaws will read the current/local time and date and up to 2 more time zones which you set as described above.

You can, however, also open the Alarms and Clock app, go to the Clock tab (in this app you have tabs for Alarms, Clock, Timer and Stopwatch, and here you can add as many time zones as you like and they are displayed in a simple list view, local time on top and then alphabetically. The nice thing is that you can not only see the time in the place you specified, but it also tells you the offset from your local time. For example, I’m in pacific time and let’s say it’s 11 PM here. If I put in Frankfurt and Manila as additional clocks, I can arrow down the list and I first get to Frankfurt which would tell me it’s 8 AM the next day and that the time there is 9 hours ahead from where I am. Manila would tell me it’s 3 PM the next day and that it is 16 hours ahead.

I almost never go to the system tray with Windows + B, usually I use Jaws Key + F11 and arrowing to the clock that way won’t give you the other times and neither will pressing Jaws Key + F12 which only gives you the current local time. If I have to press Windows Key + B, then arrow to the clock and let Jaws read me first my time and date and then the other times, I may as well set up a keyboard shortcut for the Alarm and Clock app which allows me to load it just with a keystroke similar to Windows Key + B, then instead of having to arrow a bunch of times and let  Jaws read the information, I simply arrow left once to the Clock tab, press enter and tab one more time into the list view of the different time zones I have set up. Here I can immediately down arrow away from local time to my other times.

Hi,

I would like to share the steps to make JAWS announce time for two time zones from the system clock in the notification area if any one finds it useful. We don’t need to use any third party app for this purpose now.

1.            While on the Notification area/System Tray press Insert + 6 on the numbers row.

2.            Type  Verbosity.

3.            Arrow to Configure Verbosity levels.

4.            Press F6.

5.            Select the verbosity level you   you are currently using. In my case I am using beginner verbosity.

6.            Press Space.

7.            Type T for tool tip.

8.            Next Press Space to check this option.

9.            Tab to OK and Press Enter.

10.          Press Shift + F6.

11.          Now Press Windows B to go to the Notification area.

12.          Arrow to the clock JAWS should read the two clocks.

Thanks

Very glad it worked– I did see this option on the Microsoft Store  but I was not sure you would be able to use it.  I am especially pleased it is accessible with Jaws. Not all apps are though I think the situation is improving.

We need an Apple Vis type website with category lists of programs and Microsoft Store Apps Which are confirmed  to work with Jaws.

There is something  called NVDA Road tested Programs on Accessibility Net which is pretty much guaranteed to provide options for Jaws as well but somethings are accessible with Jaws and not NVDA and vice versa.

There used to be a Programs page on the old Jaws User Mailing list website but this seems defunct now and will not load here.  Tom Lorimore’s White Stick website will not be update given his recent sad death. I don’t know if anybody else knows of a similar resource?

VFO Should really host this  for the community I guess but if anybody has a web page that could be used I would be happy to provide some program suggestions and comments.

As a workaround have you tried separate World Clock  applications or Website?

For example

https://greenwichmeantime.com/timepiece/world-clock/

Once you have set  a website like this up to your desired time zone you can set it up as a shortcut on your desktop or even, with a bit of further fiddling and editing of the shortcut, put it on the windows 10 Taskbar. Let me know if you want instructions on this.

In terms of apps rather than websites I think you will need to search for World Clock  apps rather than clock apps as normal clock applications will just provide the standard feedback from the system time.

You probably cannot do it with the JAWS F12 keystroke to check time, but if both clocks appear on your System tray in the bottom right of your screen, then you can try using Windows key B to get to the system tray, then arrowing left or right to hear the clocks.  I usually find focus is at the far left of the icons in the system tray, so it is fastest to arrow left and focus will quickly circle around to the far right of the icons where the standard system clock is.

The only trouble with the originals were that they come as executables with

I had to use 7Zip to open the EXE archives and extract the ISO images.
If I knew how to make a checksum, I could make one of my image and send that

After connecting the USB memory stick and pressing the power button, I waited for about 5 minutes. I pressed the power button again, the laptop powered off within 3 seconds. Hi,

Some computers need a USB sound card in order for you to hear NVDA

while running the Windows PE.

If this is the case, you can get one from WalMart for around $10.

It is a version of windows that loads into RAM and you can even remove the

Id
won't do them any good if they want to reset the phone to sell it or even
if
they want to get into it and disable or change the Face Id/Touch Id/PIN
option. As soon as you go to Settings > Passcode you have to enter you
passcode. Apple security is indeed very good, even if your phone was
stolen
and they have your PIN, you could wipe the phone and permanently disable
it
if you quickly log into iCloud and Find My iPhone also cannot be disabled
without the passcode, the only way to stop it from working is to turn off
the phone.

try looking for a software called konboot that should allow you to log in
to
those accounts with a password and remove them I think.
otherwise you may have to re--install windows thus removing everything on
the system and starting from scratch.

I put the Windows 10 Win PE in my Open Drive.

Id
won't do them any good if they want to reset the phone to sell it or even
if
they want to get into it and disable or change the Face Id/Touch Id/PIN
option. As soon as you go to Settings > Passcode you have to enter you
passcode. Apple security is indeed very good, even if your phone was
stolen
and they have your PIN, you could wipe the phone and permanently disable
it
if you quickly log into iCloud and Find My iPhone also cannot be disabled
without the passcode, the only way to stop it from working is to turn off
the phone.

Marty,
I put the Windows 10 Win PE in my Open Drive.

Id
won't do them any good if they want to reset the phone to sell it or even
if
they want to get into it and disable or change the Face Id/Touch Id/PIN
option. As soon as you go to Settings > Passcode you have to enter you
passcode. Apple security is indeed very good, even if your phone was
stolen
and they have your PIN, you could wipe the phone and permanently disable
it
if you quickly log into iCloud and Find My iPhone also cannot be disabled
without the passcode, the only way to stop it from working is to turn off
the phone.

Bryan's does not have any utilities, only the ones by Carlos, with eSpeak, which I don't like, but hey, it works.
You used Carlos's WinPE.
Other than the voice difference and the utilities difference, one would be as good as the other for whatever.
But I usually need the utilities, so I use Carlos's with the crappy eSpeak.

BTW, other than installing Windows, most things would work the same if your computer is a 64 bit, so for many things the first link is useful too.

Shoot, then I copied the wrong link, I'll send another.
I have to upload it to OD, I thought I had put it up there, but it's only on my computer.
The 64 has an X in the name too, and I wasn't paying enough attention.
As soon as it gets finished uploading, I'll send the link.

Your link contains " Win10PE_x86.ISO" which would indicate it's a 32 bit version since normally X64 indicates a 64 bit version.

It's 64 bit, but I may have a 32 bit if anyone has to have it.

Hi Glen,

Is this download that you posted for Win10 32 bit?

If so, do you have this PE in Win10 64 bit?

Regards,

James B

Marty,
I put the Windows 10 Win PE in my Open Drive.

Please pardon my ignorance here, but what is talking Win PE and how do I
get it?

If you burn the talking Win PE to disk or USB and boot up, you can detect
all the passwords on your computer with a tool that is on it.
That is the Win PE with eSpeak, not the one with Eloquence.

Id
won't do them any good if they want to reset the phone to sell it or even
if
they want to get into it and disable or change the Face Id/Touch Id/PIN
option. As soon as you go to Settings > Passcode you have to enter you
passcode. Apple security is indeed very good, even if your phone was
stolen
and they have your PIN, you could wipe the phone and permanently disable
it
if you quickly log into iCloud and Find My iPhone also cannot be disabled
without the passcode, the only way to stop it from working is to turn off
the phone.

This entire security thing seems as farcical as face I D on iPhones. In
order to get into your iPhone all the thief needs to do is point the
device
at you and poof he or she can use your device. I'm sure I am wrong but a
computer tech told me years ago all one needs to do to use a password
protected computer is take out a small piece and then anyone can use it
after that.

try looking for a software called konboot that should allow you to log in
to
those accounts with a password and remove them I think.
otherwise you may have to re--install windows thus removing everything on
the system and starting from scratch.

way that I can remove these accounts? Can this computer be restored to
factory fresh without a Windows 7 disk?
