Hi Ron,

I may have missed the beginning of this thread, but I use Office 365 and I would say I use Jaws 2020 Beta 95% of the time now and I have no such issue.

Hi,

I tried all speech schemes and nothing going. I am using the classic right now and it says “normal” on every line. Rebooting does nothing either. As previously mentioned, its only in JAWS 2020 it was ok in JAWS 2019 so I really think it’s a bug in dealing with Office 365

This could be  your speech scheme. Press jaws+alt+S to open the "Select a scheme" dialog. If your scheme name has the word "attributes" in it, that would be the reason you are hearing this. If you want JAWS to tell you Bold and Italic, but not normal, I believe this is obtainable.

It is fully accessible without scripts.
Scripts just make it easier to check some things like length of file, how far into the file you are, etc.
I'd recommend spending time with the excellent manual, especially the list of keystrokes.
It is an amazingly powerful audio editing application, especially consider the low price tag.
Back in the day when Window-eyes was alive and well, I spent lots of time working with the developer to create the Window-Eyes set files for it.
But, since Window-Eyes was bought out by FS and then buried, those set files are no more.
The Jaws scripts do take care of the main things though not all.

Give it a try.

Are there still JFW Goldwave scripts available and if so, where can I find them? I'm running the latest Windows 10, and have both latest JFW

Thanks,

as I understand, the scripts aren't really necessary but they do provide
more efficient use of Goldwave.

I was going to suggest to grab a copy of the scripts from the JAWS-users
website, but it appears that the owner took down all of the site even
though it was mentioned that he would have left everything except for
subscribing to his accompanying mailing list to provide resources for
his former subscribers. it's ashame. it was a good resource for a lot of
stuff like scripts for JAWS and useful programs.

if anyone knows of another resourse similar to JAWS-users, please let
the list know.

Wondering. Need to upgrade from windows 10 home to pro. Doing a
networking course soon, and need to use hyper v, windows sandbox, etc.

So, what’s the legal or ethical status.

Can I find legal keys online or best to purchase from the Microsoft

Go to eBay I got my upgrade license to pro for $3.95. It's a legal key that was excepted no problems at all UK The UK pass a law allowing people to recycle keys when the machine is disposed of so their legal keys they're just really cheap.

Hi Michael,

Okay, try these steps.
1. Press, Insert + 6, on the number row above the main keyboard to open the Settings Center, now press, control, shift , + D, to open the
Settings Center Default All Applications.

2. Down arrow to, Speech Verbosity closed, right arrow to open.  Down arrow 1 time to hear what Verbosity Level you're running.

3. Down arrow to, Configure Verbosity Levels closed, right arrow to open.

4. Down arrow to the level you're running, Beginner..., and press the spacebar to open.  Note, do not press enter because if you press enter Settings Center will think you're done and close, so use the spacebar.

5. You're now in a list of options, so down arrow to, Position information, press the spacebar to uncheck this.

6. Tab to, Okay, press the spacebar, again tab to, Okay, and press enter to save your change and close the Settings Center.

Howdy,

Try the following:
To stop Jaws from reading the number of an item while arrowing thru a list,
Go to the Jaws settings center default all applications, then speech verbosity, then configuration.
In the list of items, (number 17) position information, uncheck the box, and
save your settings on the way out.
Jaws will still announce the location / number of the item when using the say-all or say current line command.
This worked for me in Jaws 2019.

Not sure what Dollars you are talking about, but it should be a lot less than $350.

Here in Canada the upgrade is $259.99 from the Microsoft Store, but I can buy a full version of Windows 10 Pro from a number of large computer shops for less, one store where I often buy stuff sells it for $158.49.

And yes, I believe you could buy a recycled license or whatever they call these type of licenses you can buy on eBay for a few bucks.

I guess this is very difficult for anybody to explain unless they are also using the same Earthlink web portal.
Typically you would find a button which would allow you to browse for a file which you can then attach, you most likely won't be able to copy and paste a file to attach it like you can do in Outlook and I doubt you would want to open the file.
Is there any reason you don't want to use an email client? If not Outlook because of the cost, there are free email clients like thunderbird or the Mail app if you use Windows 10.

appreciate any information that anyone might have because i'm trying

Hi, I use https://webmail.earthlink.net. Everything seems fine until I have to attach a file to the message that I write. I'm using jaws 16 and internet explorer as the browser. I usually don't have a problem with this combination but usually when I use brouse then I select the file do I also have to open the document that I want to attach? that sounds strange but my question here is can I copy the item from lets say that the document that I want is located on my desktop, can't I just copy the file in question? wouldn't that work? I think that there needs to be a better way of doing this? Thank you for asking me some questions so that I can walk through how I try to send an attachment along with a message.
