I've had it installed and I've used it, so I know about it. If people don't do a lot of unknown sites, and just do eMail with caution, and just do things like BARD and DropBox for example, then why go through the pain of Microsoft's latest crap? Some people still use XP carefully. I'd say reckless mouse users are the most in danger with using an unsupported computer system. click click click. Glenn

This is completely and utterly untrue. I have 3 computers which are running Windows 7, and I am getting updates to the operating system, regulare as clockwork. I do not doubt, that I will continue to do so, until Microsoft ends support for Windows 7, in January of next year. Even then, there will be core system updates, which are not only essential to Windows 10, but also are essential and compatible to previous versions of their operating systems, and as such they will more than likely, be made available as updates to those operating systems.

be any more security updates. Your going to need to either get the subscription if you want to stick with jaws or switch to NVDA. Oh, you'll be able to use windows seven after it's no longer supported but it could leave you more open to attacks, not to mention, fewer aps will support it either when they are updated. I should mention you could get another SmA but that would require purchasing the upgrade then the sma so the subscription would probably be best.

unloading Chromevox
Orlando Enrique Fiol
Hi all. Last night, I decided to play around with Chromevox. although I got it going and was able to configure options, no hotkey actually unloads it from running all the time with Chrome. For now, I've disabled the extension, but that seems self-defeating, since I was hoping to be able to unload whichever screen reader I was using and use Chromevox on the fly. Is this possible?

First, it is pointless to install Windows 7 on a new machine since it is almost at the end of its life cycle.
toggle quoted messageShow quoted text
If you are set on Windows 7, the Narrator keystroke is not control+windows+enter, that is the Windows 10 keystroke. I'm not entirely sure what the Windows 7 command is but it could be Windows+Enter. Or, you could call Microsoft Accessibility at 800-936-5900 and find out for sure or just Google it. The new windows 10 is so much better and looks much like Windows 7, and Narrator is vastly improved in Windows 10 and will only get better after the fall update. I know on two new Windows 10 machines I have worked with in the last year, Cortana came up talking and I did not need any sighted assistance to set it up. When the time came, Cortana said if you need a screen reader to finish setup hit control+windows+enter. I have no idea on a home built machine if Windows 10 will behave that way.
