I hate it when people delete everything so that there is not any

Yeah, I don’t actually disagree with you Brian, I should clarify that *one* message quoted should be sufficient (or maybe a very specific part of it, as you do, and your method of not-quite-top-posting is usually quite clear). I myself am not always conscious of all the crap that is included after my message (as you say, sometimes it’s probably pages and pages of replies) because I don’t often read it. It’s something I’ve been made aware of on a few occasions and when that happens I do try to delete extraneous content.

On another list I am on, there are a few people who do not quote *anything*. It's almost impossible to tell what they are talking about at times, because there's no context at all except an (often vague) subject line.

It also drives me crazy when folks do something like, "Fixed: Excel copy issue," when the topic had been "Excel copy issue." People who've been following the topic will see a final message with the fix contained in it if they were interested in that topic at all. When the subject line gets changed like this it splits off from the original, which makes later searching insanely more complicated and frustrating than just posting the message to the original topic would. There appears to be some issue with the Windows 10 mail app, too, as I have noticed that after subjects get so long that replies almost always end up taking out a single space. What I haven't yet taken the time to data collect on is whether this is after a specific character count. I have always used, and will continue to use, interspersed quotation-reply-quotation-reply in instances where it would be insanely difficult to know what is actually being replied to were it all just at the top of a message. I consider that a courtesy and it's so much easier to understand when essential context is preserved. Even then, though, I trim out content from the quoted material that is extraneous, keeping only what's needed to supply context. -- Brian - Windows 10 Pro, 64-Bit, Version 1903, Build 18362 Many of the insights of the saint stem from his experience as a sinner. ~ Eric Hoffer

Hello, everyone.
I don’t know if this has been caused by a recent Office 365 update, but my message list view in Outlook no longer displays complete header info about e-mails as I arrow up and down the list.
I can get the time of the message, and the subject, but that’s it.
I usually like to hear the date and other information.
I have made sure my screen is maximized.
I also went into the folder view menu, and made sure my folder pane was set to normal, and my reading pane was set to off.
What step am I missing here?
I’m using Windows 10 version 1803, the latest build of Jaws 2019, and Outlook 2016 under Office 365.
Thanks!

don't have their eMail program set to leave the message they are replying
to.
This happens when I text a cell phone by eMail and
they reply because text to eMail does not leave the message they are replying

But on the other hand, I need to get better at not
being lazy and trimming out everything but the message I'm replying

That depends on which web interface you are using.
toggle quoted messageShow quoted text
The only one I ever rarely use is the one provided by my ISP, and I only use that if I'm having a problem with my eMail client. But they are all as different as all web pages tend to be. But on the one I use, the reply is not a button, and it is not near the body of the message, so for me, it's easiest if I do control + F and type in the word reply and press enter to get to it. HTH.
Thanks!

I don't find David's post either. I agree with Mike that replys/forwards

should be top posted. most if not all members don't want to bother reading through original messages just to find a one liner remark, especially if an explaination is needed to clarify the remark.

Arrow down through the message and you'll find what he's talking about. Personally, if someone doesn't top post their, original or, reply, it gets deleted. Someone asking for help shouldn't make it hard for someone to get to their question. Take care. Mike. Sent from my iBarstool. Go dodgers! I believe that everything happens for a reason. Usually, the reason is that somebody screwed up. ----- Original Message ----- *From:* Glenn / Lenny <mailto:glennervin@cableone.net> *To:* main@jfw.groups.io <mailto:main@jfw.groups.io> *Sent:* Monday, September 02, 2019 10:00 PM *Subject:* Re: MalwareBytes Adware Tool David, Still nothing in your messages. I downloaded a MalwareBytes tool for adware, and it found three threats that were in Internet Explorer. I had to use the touch cursor (a jaws tool) to activate the scan button and other parts of the tool. The Jaws touch cursor can be activated with shift + PC cursor. tap PC cursor twice to disable it. Here's the link to the scanner: https://od.lk/d/N18xNjA4OTg4Nzhf/adwcleaner_7.4.exe Glenn

Re: Is This Problem a JAWS or a Browser Problem?
Rick Miller
I’ve just found out that it is due to the fact that I did not choose a security preference. Once I chose the preference, that solved the problem.

Hi, It is neither a jaws nor a web browser problem. I use jaws 2019 and chrome withouth that problem. Check if your capslock key is on
