Brian,
I could not agree more.
Why people were so quick to recreate a group when this one was running fine is a mystery to me.

The only issue is that people can create groups almost at the drop of the hat.
I guess, if people decided to only join one group, eventually the other group would go away.

But, which group?
Since, as far as know, there isn't an official group run by Freedom Scientific, nor one run by Mozilla for Thunderbird, etc.
I know there are multiple groups out there for most every topic, but I personally only belong to I think 4 distinct groups.
Well, as far as I know, there are no officially sponsored groups for most things.
Anyone can start a group, so good luck with getting the number of groups narrowed down.

Sounds reasonable to me. Besides which, if there are 2+ lists
essentially covering the same ground, and a bunch of people are on
both/all of them, what’ll happen is that you’ll end up seeing the same
question repeated multiple times.

OK, I hope that our estimable group owner here on this group will not
find what I'm about to do upsetting, but now I must:

Why, oh why, does there even need to be another JAWS users group on
Groups.io?

It seems that all the refugees (for lack of a better term) from the now
defunct group that have landed on our shores have been welcomed to our
island.  Why on earth form another island, again, for information
sharing about exactly the same software that we share about here?  Why
not just come here and join our happy family?

What is the pressing need for JAWS user's groups two through N, at least
within any given language community? What am I missing?

nope. windows+insert+f4 dumps JAWS from memory, and should relaunch
JAWS. insert+f4 merely shuts down/unloads JAWS without relaunching JAWS.

Jaws Key + f4 doesn't create a dump, just unloads the programme. A dump is
just a bunch of stuff from memory contents that might help someone figure

I am not sure what you are exactly trying to do.   You said that Excel is not recognizing dates as text only.

Excel recognizes the contents of a cell depending on how you have the cell formatted.  How do you have the cells you are entering dates in formatted?  To change the format of a cell hit control and the number 1 on the numbers row.  This will bring up the format dialog box.  I would recommend changing the format of the cells to date to see if this helps you accomplish what you are trying to do.

In 2012 i bought a high end Dell desktop PC for over a thousand dollars and it lasted 5 years.  in 2017 I read about refurb PCs on walmart.com and found an HP desktop with 8 GB RAM and an AMD 3.7 GH processor amd a 2 TB HD for $184.  At that price I bought 2, one for me and one for my wife.  After almost 2.5 years, both machines are running like Timex watches.  What I learned is that you should consider your use case.  Most folks buy far more PC than they need, and could save a lot of money that they could use for software, etc.  The other thing I liked about these units was a clean copy of Windows with no bloatware.

Hello all:
Tyler, thank you for the insight. I mainly use Microsoft office suite, and browse the web with this unit. I’m looking on dell.com. I’m looking at a I seven 512 solid-state drive with 16 gig of RAM. And a plain graphics card. That retails for $1200. I’m not looking to spend more than that, and it states it’s a gaming computer. If the unit specs will last me around six years plus I would be very happy with that.

Now that I look back at the specs, what are you needing a dedicated Nvidia

I've seen folks who never use more than 80 to 10 GB of their HD.
Too often people think bigger is better and that is not always the case.
Also, when you look at all the high specs, what are you doing with it all?
I mean, I'll bet 90% of us here don't do any more than read eMail, open some
web pages, open a spread sheet program once in a while, and listen to some
MP3 audio.
All this can be done with 10 year old technology just fine.

A tech told me anything over 8 Gigs of ram is too much.  I think he was
dipping into some sort of sauce.  I received what I was told was a
refurbished Win 10 computer with 250 Gs hard drive.  It turned out to
be a  windows 7 originally and you could make dinner by the time it booted
up.
Thus, I agree with Feliciano.

I suggest you upgrade to a 512 GB solid-state drive.

Hello all.
Looking to purchase a new dell laptop computer. Here are the specs:
I9 processor
16 GB ram
256 GB SSD
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060

I would like this computer to last me about six years. Are all of
these
specs acceptable for running JFW? Is there anything else that I should
make certain a new laptop has for JFW use?
Appreciate any advise.

Thank you-
Andrew

Can someone tell me what the Jaws dump command is?

I simply can't remember the key combination.

Thank you!

Sure. It will only restart if it isn't so "broken" that it can't recognise
the command.
