Yes, there are certainly differences, but downward compatibility is definitely a major concern in this operating system. I'm not only assuming, but basing it upon all my personal experience with this operating system so far, which tells me that, though you may have to do a bit of tweaking, almost everything short of old Dos programmes can be made to work.
Nevertheless, try installing them on your Windows 10 machine; see what happens.

Not necessarily.?? Windows 10 is a completely different animal than its predecessors.?? You downloaded the KitchensInc games from Bryan Smart's site, which, unfortunately, is apparently gone.?? Who knows what he did to get them to work with Windows 10??? Has anyone downloaded these games from Jim Kitchen's original site and gotten them to work successfully with Windows 10??? I'm pretty sure the games on this site were designed to work only with Windows 7 and earlier, and you cannot assume that a program that works with Windows 7 will work with Windows 10 without modification.

Maybe the menu programme is new, and they are voiced by Microsoft David, in my case, but it's probably the Sapi voice that was also available in Windows 7.
So, while I???m not 100% certain/wouldn't bank a ton of money on it, I'm willing to suppose that if you have something that works in Windows 7, you should be able to get it to work with 10 also. Windows is pretty downward compatible in general. I know some people have had trouble with games using directx, but even then, a little searching on the internet will usually provide all the components you need.

The games are all right; not too stimulating to me for the most part, but the baseball game is ... oddly relaxing.

this maybe a long shot, but the battleship game is not announcing the coordinates as my sister moves about the grid. does anyone know of a fix or can suggest how to maybe fix this issue?

moderated OneNote 2013 with JAWS 2019 Questions

Walker, Michael E

Hi,

What is the fastest way I can get up and running reading OneNote documents with OneNote 2013 and JAWS 2019? The context for this question is that when I am at work, the teammate doing knowledge transfer with me pulls up a OneNote with the information. I am trying to help him understand JAWS. He thinks that if I just play with OneNote, I will learn it, but I also explained that there can be accessibility commands, depending on the app I am using, and “jumping in” can be a learning curve of its own. I do not have a lot of time to look at documentation for how to use OneNote or other programs, while he is just wanting me to be able to look at content within the program. I do not need to edit the OneNote either. I just need to be able to read it. What tips do you have for getting started?

Thank you,

Mike

I did a little research and discovered that someone named Bryan Smart modified the KitchenSinc suite of games to work with Windows 10 shortly after Jim passed away four years ago, and posted them on his web site.?? But I tried to visit this site, and it appears that it has been taken down, so it looks like there is currently no way to download Windows 10 versions of KitchenSinc games, unless there is another web site somewhere else:

moderated FS Reader 3 Always Crashes

Richard B. McDonald

Hi!

I am using JAWS 2019 and Windows 7.  FS Reader 3 always crashes when reading a daisy book, causing repeated restarts of JAWS and spotty navigation within the application.  Does anyone else have this problem?  Is there any solution?

Thanks,

Richard

If you just want to temporarilly increase or decrease the speach rate, while JAWS is reading after pressing Insert+Down Arrow, just press the Page up to increase or Page Down to decrease the rate. The speach will revert back to your normal setting when you Alt+Tab away and back to your application.

I'm not sure if this affects just the program in use or it affects the
default (global) setting, but:

control+alt+page up or page down increases or decreases the speech rate
but the change is temporary.

control+windows+alt+page up or page down increases or decreases speech
rate but the change is permanent.

Hello:
Is there a way to adjust the speech rate on the fly without going into
the JAWS settings?

Thanks in advance,

that is to make it perminant. if you just press controll plus alt and page up or down it stays that way until you move to another window. then it reverts back to what you had it set on.
