OneNote 2013 with JAWS 2019 Questions
Walker, Michael E
Hi,
What is the fastest way I can get up and running reading OneNote documents with OneNote 2013 and JAWS 2019? The context for this question is that when I am at work, the teammate doing knowledge transfer with me pulls up a OneNote with the information. I am trying to help him understand JAWS. He thinks that if I just play with OneNote, I will learn it, but I also explained that there can be accessibility commands, depending on the app I am using, and “jumping in” can be a learning curve of its own. I do not have a lot of time to look at documentation for how to use OneNote or other programs, while he is just wanting me to be able to look at content within the program. I do not need to edit the OneNote either. I just need to be able to read it. What tips do you have for getting started?
Thank you, Mike

I did a little research and discovered that someone named Bryan Smart modified the KitchenSinc suite of games to work with Windows 10 shortly after Jim passed away four years ago, and posted them on his web site.?? But I tried to visit this site, and it appears that it has been taken down, so it looks like there is currently no way to download Windows 10 versions of KitchenSinc games, unless there is another web site somewhere else:

I knew Jim for a long time and played chess with him via email.
If you play the baseball game, you may recognize my name.

My understanding is thatJim Kitchen passed away before he had an opportunity to modify his suite of games to work with Windows 10.?? If somebody else modified them to work with Windows 10, I would certainly be interested in the web site where they can be downloaded.

FS Reader 3 Always Crashes
Richard B. McDonald
Hi!
I am using JAWS 2019 and Windows 7. FS Reader 3 always crashes when reading a daisy book, causing repeated restarts of JAWS and spotty navigation within the application. Does anyone else have this problem? Is there any solution?
Thanks, Richard

Marty Hutchings
If you just want to temporarilly increase or decrease the speach rate, while JAWS is reading after pressing Insert+Down Arrow, just press the Page up to increase or Page Down to decrease the rate. The speach will revert back to your normal setting when you Alt+Tab away and back to your application.

I don't have an answer yet for the issue since I am at work.
But, someone did produce them for Windows 10.
When I get home I will see if I can duplicate the issue.
Here is the link to an archive of Jim's games:

that is to make it perminant. if you just press controll plus alt and page up or down it stays that way until you move to another window. then it reverts back to what you had it set on. On 7/24/2019 10:26 AM, Maria Campbell wrote:

Re: Speech rate
How you do this will depend entirely on whether you want those changes to stick if you quit and reload JAWS, or whether you want them "for this session" only.

Press control plus windows plus alt plus page-up for faster and the same keys plus page down for slower speech.

this maybe a long shot, but the battleship game is not announcing the
coordinates as my sister moves about the grid. does anyone know of a fix or can suggest how to maybe fix this issue? also would like to know if the games have been ported to work in Windows 10 so I can install the games when I finally upgrade?

A very early good morning to you. This has been my only way to avoid not being able to read such links. So very odd how a computer can work one way and booting up the next day has what worked previously now impossible... Thanks again...
