I've also experienced problems accessing some parts of indeed.com. As a work around, I have gone directly to an employer's web site to apply for a position. Sometimes it's better than the indeed.com portal. It's been several months since I tried to apply for a job through Indeed so I don't recall what screen readers and browsers I tried. I'm pretty sure I got the farthest with NVDA as Jaws was having difficulty locating form fields. HTH Norma

I attempt to go arrow key character by character but it only reads the entire link. What setting do I need to reset to allow links to read by character and not by the whole name? I went through default settings and could not figure this out, also the quick settings.

Don’t hold your breath. I’ve left multiple reviews in the App Store as well as contacted home advisor multiple times about this problem. They do not have a clue about accessibility, nor do they care. I’ve tried talking with them about the website using a computer with draws, as well as iOS. Every time they put a new update out on the App Store they boast about adding  more pros, but absolutely nothing about adding accessibility support. They should be ashamed of themselves.

No you can’t do that in Windows 10.  There is no Send To Desktop option.

You have to Open File Location, then Shift+F10 on the file, then Send To, then Desktop Create Shortcut.

In Windows 7 you could do it, but not 10.

Also, I could read links character by character by just using the numpad keys. However, I just checked and I was able to read a link character by character by using the regular cursor keys.

It seems like you might have this problem if you are using Smart Navigation mode which I am not using. You can see a description of Smart Navigation and how to read links using it in the JAWS help.

I have my audio bluetooth transmitter on top of a wood cabinet and a keyboard receiver on about 35 feet of USB cable to work in another room of the house.  It makes a real difference to get away from the computer case and my metal desk.

I’ve been using the G613 for a couple of days and remember why I have been wanting a mechanical keyboard since I lost my last one in a house fire thirty years ago.  Except for the extra keys on the left, I am typing faster and really like it.

One of the two keyboards I ordered was damaged in shipment and Amazon has already replaced it.  With a credit I had from a previous Amazon order problem and by signing up for the Amazon Visa card, the two keyboards cost me $6 each.  I’ll probably have to wait another 25 years for Amazon to give me another deal like that.

Subject: Logitech G613 Lightspeed wireless mechanical gaming keyboard

Hi,

I thought it would be OK to post a brief review here on the Logitech G613 wireless mechanical gaming keyboard since just as myself I assume others also are always looking for the “perfect” keyboard.

This Logitech G613 “Lightspeed” wireless mechanical gaming keyboard can connect to iOS via Bluetooth and to a PC using the supplied USB receiver which then let’s you take advantage of the “Lightspeed” 1 millisecond delay which is pretty impressive (if you connect to a PC with Bluetooth this does not apply and while it’s probably still just as good as any other Bluetooth keyboard, it sort of makes sense to make the most of this keyboard’s features).

I still use my trusty Logitech K780 at home where I have it connected to my laptop via Bluetooth as well as to my iPhone and Apple TV, but I bought the G613 for my main PC at work and I must say so far it’s getting pretty close to that perfect score.

Unlike most wired mechanical gaming keyboards this does not have all the fancy RGB lighting options which of course is fine for me. The one thing I am not super fond of are the 6 F1 through fF6 function keys in a vertical column down the left side of the keyboard with maybe half an inch of space between them and the left most keys like Control, Shift, Caps Lock, Tab, ` and Escape. But I also bought a wired Logitech mechanical keyboard and it also has them, most mechanical keyboards are designed for gamers rather than people who want a mechanical keyboard for typing. It takes a bit of getting used to not accidently pressing them. gamers can configure these keys as macro keys to perform whatever actions gamers want.

Apart from that the keyboard has a very traditional layout with nice spaces between the blocks of function keys, the inverted cursor T, the 6-pack with Insert/Delete, Page Up/Down and Home/End, of course the number pad and above that it has 4 more slightly lower media keys for Play/Pause, Stop, Rewind and Forward.

At the very top is a slider switch which locks the Windows key which apparently gamers like so they don’t accidently press it and Cortana/the search box pops up, then there are two buttons which switch between the USB Lightspeed connection and the Bluetooth connection and once the Bluetooth connection to the iPhone has been established all it takes is to press the Bluetooth button in order to switch to the phone and the USB button to switch back.

On the very top right is a large key which is a volume rocker, press the left side for down and the right side for up and beside that is a Mute button. Finally on the right side towards the back is a on/off slider switch.

The keyboard runs on 2 AA batteries and is supposed to give you 18 month of battery life.

There is a proper application key on the right side of the spacebar which works, but there is no Windows key on the right side which is something you don’t hardly see any more.

Logitech uses their own Romer-G switches and not Cherry MXswitches. The Romer-G are most like Cherry Brown, a nice distance of travel, but not hard to press and relatively quiet for mechanical keys.

They do take a bit of getting used to, but I quite like them. For those who want to read more about them, below is a link to a review from Tom’s Hardware:

Logitech’s Romer-G Switches – Are they any good?

The other nice thing about this keyboard is it’s relatively reasonable price, I paid $129.99 Canadian for it, believe I read that on a good deal you can pick it up in the US for as low as $70 US.

Wireless mechanical keyboards are not out there too much yet, I did find a couple more made by the company “Das Keyboard” but they are more expensive although I may order them from Amazon to test and if I don’t like them at least as much or better send them back. My other 2 computers at my store where I have a Logitech MK510 keyboard and mouse combo both start to show their wear on the keyboards and I want to see if using mechanical keyboards won’t change the fact that many of the keyboards which are mostly out there these days are typically done after 2 or at most 3 years of heavy use.

As with all mechanical keyboards keep in mind that the Logitech G613 is heavy compared to other non-mechanical wireless keyboards.

And one last thing which is nice, this keyboard has function keys which work as function keys out of the box and as much as I also like my K780, it’s a bit of a pain to have to install the not very accessible Logitech Options software just so you can change the function keys to behave like function keys instead of media keys.

Happy typing,

Sieghard

Hi,

It doesn't matter that it's a problem with all browsers for me, it works in chrome though it didn't in the others. It's possible that one of the regularly-used extentions, a toolbar or an addblock perhaps, that we both use causes this issue.

To reset chrome, go to settings>advanced>reset.

If the PC and Jaws cursors fail this is the new cursor to try and
keep up with the current tech.

The Touch cursor is activated by pressing shift and the plus key on
the numpad at the same time. This cursor is required more and more.
Now use the left and right arrow keys to navigate like swiping left

Hi,

Once you hit to apply, I am no longer to navigate or enter within any of the edit fields. I only hear the heading of the page. Everything else within this website works fine, until I hit the button to apply.

moderated Prompt to Confirm when Exiting JAWS Now Optional

Randy Barnett <blindmansbluff09@...>

When you perform one of the commands to exit JAWS including INSERT+F4, a prompt displays asking if you are sure you want to quit JAWS. You can then press ENTER to quit or ESC to cancel. JAWS 2019 now allows you to disable this prompt so that JAWS immediately exits. To disable the shutdown prompt, open the Basics dialog box located in the JAWS Options menu, and clear the "Prompt to Confirm when Exiting JAWS" check box.

For jaws go to VFO and download the latest version you are licensed for and then run it. Since Jaws is already installed you should see a list of options one of witch should be repair.

No guarantee that the touch cursor will work. as for navigating with the touch cursor you need to use the 4 pack of arrows not the number pad arrows. You should hear a tone with each key press if there isn't anything under the cursor and a description if there is something there.

Hi,

It doesn't matter that it's a problem with all browsers for me, it
works in chrome though it didn't in the others. It's possible that one
of the regularly-used extentions, a toolbar or an addblock perhaps,
that we both use causes this issue.

To reset chrome, go to settings>advanced>reset.

Hope this helps,

Hello,

I have attempted to replicate this issue, using the UK version of indeed,
jaws 2018, windows 10 and all web browsers.

I found that indeed, indeed does not function correctly with IE, and I
receive the same problem as you; however I did not get this issue with
chrome. My version of chrome is reset regularly, as I use it to test various
web filter applications for my vpn company (trying to break them and work
out how to make my programme do that automatically.) Try resetting chrome
and see if that works.

I respectfully disagree with you because I’m using latest version of JAWS, but the workaround was necessary for me.

And just to add to this, in the latest version of Jaws this is no longer necessary, but if you use Jaws 2018 or an earlier version of Jaws 2019 you may have to do this.

Hi, Marvin.

1. Open Adobe Reader.

2. Press ALT plus K for Preferences.

3. Arrow down to Security (Enhanced, (not just Security)

4. TAB to Enable Protected Mode at startup, and make sure it is unchecked.

5. Answer “Yes” to the prompt which warns you that, Disabling Protected Mode requires you to restart Adobe Reader.

6. TAB to, Enable Enhanced Security, and make sure this is also unchecked.

7. TAB to the OK button, and press it.

8. Restart Adobe Reader.

Now you should be able to see the content of PDF files in Adobe Reader.

I thought I would try adobe acrobat reader dc, latest version. My adobe acrobat pro English is a few years old, version 5.5., but when I try to load a pdf, and then select that and load, it goes into like a web based or cloud, and jaws just sees it as blank. If I try to do a insert o, d for document, says ocr failed. So not sure why. Why is that, and not reading it that great and do have the google chrome extension. Maybe ray, can help. This is weird.

Anyone had this issue with adobe acrobat reader dc, current free version and got it from the official adobe site.

Marvin.

Hello,

I have attempted to replicate this issue, using the UK version of indeed, jaws 2018, windows 10 and all web browsers.

I found that indeed, indeed does not function correctly with IE, and I receive the same problem as you; however I did not get this issue with chrome. My version of chrome is reset regularly, as I use it to test various web filter applications for my vpn company (trying to break them and work out how to make my programme do that automatically.) Try resetting chrome and see if that works.

Hi,

I went to the website, went to apply to any job and when the screen
came up that cannot be used, I went to the touch cursor. How do I
navigate to the fields to enter information and then to upload my
resume etc.?? the arrow keys mentioned did nothing by hitting right or left arrow key...

Thanks,

Rick

If the PC and Jaws cursors fail this is the new cursor to try and
keep up with the current tech.

The Touch cursor is activated by pressing shift and the plus key on
the numpad at the same time. This cursor is required more and more.
Now use the left and right arrow keys to navigate like swiping left
and right on a IPhone. use space bar or enter to activate items. On

Perhaps my definition of the jaws or pc cursor is and has been
used. Failed with both. If touch cursor is different, I've truly
never heard of this, please explain.

only am hearing the page I am on and arrowing or tabbing does
nothing to move to these points as mentioned. Even hitting the
letter e to go to an edit field is not working.

Any help surely appreciated.

Using Jaws 2019 latest update

this happens on firefox, internet explorer and google crome...

This was not a problem the last time I was on this site, before

I look forward to your help, ideas etc...
