Prompt to Confirm when Exiting JAWS Now Optional
When you perform one of
the commands to exit JAWS including INSERT+F4,
a prompt displays asking if you are sure you want to quit JAWS.
You can then press ENTER to
quit or ESC to cancel. JAWS
2019 now allows you to disable this prompt so that JAWS
immediately exits. To disable the shutdown prompt, open the Basics
dialog box located in the JAWS Options menu, and clear the "Prompt
to Confirm when Exiting JAWS" check box.

Re: indeed.com inability to use website
For jaws go to VFO and download the latest version you are licensed for and then run it. Since Jaws is already installed you should see a list of options one of witch should be repair.

If the PC and Jaws cursors fail this is the new cursor to try and keep
up with the current tech.
The Touch cursor is activated by pressing shift and the plus key on the
numpad at the same time. This cursor is required more and more. Now use the left and right arrow keys to navigate like swiping left and right on a IPhone. use space bar or enter to activate items. On 7/22/2019 1:06 PM, Rick Mladek wrote:

No guarantee that the touch cursor will work. as for navigating with the touch cursor you need to use the 4 pack of arrows not the number pad arrows. You should hear a tone with each key press if there isn't anything under the cursor and a description if there is something there.

Re: indeed.com inability to use website
I just went to this website and didn't seem to have any issues reading about the various jobs offered in my town, just for laughs I clicked to apply for liquor store manager and while I of course didn't proceed, I was able to fill out all the fields and so on. I know you probably explained what your issue was but this is a pretty big thread now, could you repeat once more what specifically doesn't seem to work for you? I am using Jaws 2019 and the latest public version of google Chrome.

Re: indeed.com inability to use website
Hi,
It doesn't matter that it's a problem with all browsers for me, it works in chrome though it didn't in the others. It's possible that one of the regularly-used extentions, a toolbar or an addblock perhaps, that we both use causes this issue.
To reset chrome, go to settings>advanced>reset.
Hope this helps, - James

I have attempted to replicate this issue, using the UK version of indeed, jaws 2018, windows 10 and all web browsers.
I found that indeed, indeed does not function correctly with IE, and I receive the same problem as you; however I did not get this issue with chrome. My version of chrome is reset regularly, as I use it to test various web filter applications for my vpn company (trying to break them and work out how to make my programme do that automatically.) Try resetting chrome and see if that works.

Hi, Marvin.
1. Open Adobe Reader.
2. Press ALT plus K for Preferences.
3. Arrow down to Security (Enhanced, (not just Security)
4. TAB to Enable Protected Mode at startup, and make sure it is unchecked.
5. Answer “Yes” to the prompt which warns you that, Disabling Protected Mode requires you to restart Adobe Reader.
6. TAB to, Enable Enhanced Security, and make sure this is also unchecked.
7. TAB to the OK button, and press it.
8. Restart Adobe Reader.
Now you should be able to see the content of PDF files in Adobe Reader.
I thought I would try adobe acrobat reader dc, latest version. My adobe acrobat pro English is a few years old, version 5.5., but when I try to load a pdf, and then select that and load, it goes into like a web based
or cloud, and jaws just sees it as blank. If I try to do a insert o, d for document, says ocr failed. So not sure why. Why is that, and not reading it that great and do have the google chrome extension. Maybe ray, can help. This is weird.
Anyone had this issue with adobe acrobat reader dc, current free version and got it from the official adobe site.
Marvin.

If the PC and Jaws cursors fail this is the new cursor to try and keep up with the current tech.
The Touch cursor is activated by pressing shift and the plus key on the numpad at the same time. This cursor is required more and more. Now use the left and right arrow keys to navigate like swiping left and right on a IPhone. use space bar or enter to activate items. On 7/22/2019 1:06 PM, Rick Mladek wrote:

Re: Leaving a review on Home Advisor
Don’t hold your breath. I’ve left multiple reviews in the App Store as well as contacted home advisor multiple times about this problem. They do not have a clue about accessibility, nor do they care. I’ve tried talking with them about the website using a computer with draws, as well as iOS. Every time they put a new update out on the App Store they boast about adding more pros, but absolutely nothing about adding accessibility support. They should be ashamed of themselves.

Hi group,
If anyone has successfully completed the form on Home Advisor to review a pro, I'd love to know how you did it. I'm using latest Jaws on Win 10 with I.E., Firefox, Chrome and Brave. Using the touch cursor with Jaws and I.E. seemed ok, but I'm having difficulty moving around the form fields.
Alternatively, if anyone has used the Android app to complete the review process, please let me know, as I can go that way, as well.
Thanks, Norma

How to do a repair, couldn't hurt...
I'd rather do this than totally uninstall and reinstall... first things first I suppose...

Re: indeed.com inability to use website
Hello,
I have attempted to replicate this issue, using the UK version of indeed, jaws 2018, windows 10 and all web browsers.

Re: indeed.com inability to use website
Only losing outlook and having to reinstall and import saved email messages etc. But indeed.com was working afterwards. This simply started in the past couple weeks... yes, totally frustrating.... I'll check through jaws settings just to see if anything there may be out of wack. Any pointers on settings appreciated. I can go to yahoo.com, finance.yahoo.com, google.com and the sites work properly... indeed.com works until I hit the apply button for any specific job... no freaking idea...

Hi all,
From time to time, I jump on indeed.com and apply to jobs here and there.
I went to apply for a job and clicked on the apply button, no problem at this point. Now, when the page opened that had you put your name, email, phone number, attach your resume and copy/paste a cover letter... this page is not working where jaws reads it. I only am hearing the page I am on and arrowing or tabbing does nothing to move to these points as mentioned. Even hitting the letter e to go to an edit field is not working.
Any help surely appreciated.

You should hear a tone with each key press if there isn't anything under the cursor and a description if there is something there. On 7/22/2019 2:32 PM, Rick Mladek wrote: Hi,

Re: indeed.com inability to use website
Oh, One last suggestion. Try using jaws 17 and see if this works.

You may have to just settle for using NVDA or Narrator.
or reinstall jaws if still not working reinstall windows and jaws or live with it.
Sorry but that is all I can think of...

Am I the only person who doesn't have an issue on Indeed? I must have applied to like half a dozen jobs on that site this week. Or is the fact I'm on the north side of the US/Canada border what saves me from the madness? I still use the .com version, though, as there's no indeed.ca that I know of.
