Hi!
I am using JAWS 2019 with Windows 7. Sometimes, I come upon a link that says “link, has pop-up.” How do you activate the pop-up to get at the pop-up?
Thanks, Richard

With the latest JAWS, try creating a new settings centre file for CCleaner then set MSA mode to advanced. This works for me. I'm able to check and uncheck buttons. HTH Debbie

Just used it last week—no sighted help available, so no choice but to use independently. I use the amazon.com/access site, which is slightly-less-cluttered than the main one. Sign-up accessible.

It's certainly possible to purchase items without sighted help. I've had an account for over 15 years though so don't know if the sign up process is accessible or not these days, I imagine it is though.

Amazon.com/access, Googled; should be first in search results—the one that says, “online shopping for electronics...” etc. Again, it’s not nearly as uncluttered as I’d like, but some is better than none. Next time I’m there, I should put it in my i.e. favorites—in all these years, I haven’t—don’t know why.

Ann, If you encounter this problem again one thing that may help is to tab away from the edit box and then press shift-tab to move back to the edit box. Usually, this allows JAWS to properly read the text contained within the edit field. David Goldfield, Assistive Technology Specialist

Re: Question/New user to Amazon with Jaws
At one point there was an issue with the iOS app where when Voiceover was enabled one couldn’t continue beyond the address selection, but I think that was fixed a while back. The fact is that I rarely use the app, doing it on the PC with Jaws is super accessible and if you remember you address and payment selection or have only one address and one payment card entered it’s basically a matter of activating a couple of buttons and maybe to select the shipping method before you get to the “Place Order” button.

It was, at least through last fall, very accessible, and if memory serves once one does a product search the individual products returned are all structured as headings, so it's easy to use the headings list feature of JAWS to cruise through those quickly and easily (or use the quick navigation key for headings). -- Brian - Windows 10 Pro, 64-Bit, Version 1903, Build 18362 Many of the insights of the saint stem from his experience as a sinner. ~ Eric Hoffer

Re: Question/New user to Amazon with Jaws
David & his pack of dogs
I’ve had an Amazon account for almost a year now and for the most part have had no, to little problems. I did get a blind person to help me set it up, mainly because he’d had an account for years. Now, they do have a help desk in Canada and the U AS that will help you with any problems. One I had was getting a prime membership. Amazon.com did not recognize my amazon.ca account. The number for help from amazon is on their website. My only advice is call them during the day as they have a lot of people working out of their home. Thus, when I called at 10 PM PST, I got a woman with the TV and her kids in the background that could be clearly heard running around. Which brings up another matter, if working out of your home have no background noise as it could discredit your product. Even at some work places, it sounded like there was a party going on.

Unfortunately, the latest version of jaws has some issues with chrome. I reported this to Vispero, and they said until a fix is available to use Firefox or Internet explorer until a fix is in place. If you're having issues like this, it's probably best to use either Firefox or Internet explorer for the time being, and I would also recommend sending an e-mail to support@vispero.com to report this issue. Thanks. Jay.

Hi David,
Try the following:
Below are some steps I typed up for
navigating the newer versions of CCleaner with JAWS. Since CCleaner and
JAWS works fine with the, Windows tab, scan
then the navigation starts getting weird, the steps below start after scanning the Windows tab. Note: These may not be exact but, are very close and should get you by. 1. After you run a scan of the Windows tab, you can use your finger gymnastics in 2 ways to scan the Applications tab. A. After the Windows tab scan is finished tab until you come to the Windows tab again, now switch to the, Touch cursor, Shift + Numpad Plus, now right arrow and then left arrow to highlight the Apllication tab and press enter to select it. Turn off the Touch cursor by tapping the Numpad Plus key twice quickly. Press, Alt + R, to start the scan. B. After the Windows tab scan is finished switch to the Touch cursor, left arrow several times to the Applications tab and press enter to select. Now, turn the Touch cursor off and press, Alt + R, to scan. Note: The Touch cursor is mostly used to navigate after the Windows tab scan. 2. If you are scanning the Registry, after the Applications scan is completed press, Alt + G, to start the scan of the registry. 3. After the registry scan is completed, Shift + Tab to the list of found items, pay attention to how many items were found, you can arrow up & down this list to uncheck any items you don't want removed or press, Control + A, to select all, tab to the delete selected items, or whatever it's called, and press enter to start the cleaning. You will get a dialogue asking if you wannt to save a copy of the registry before the cleaning so press, Alt + Y, to save, press the spacebar on the confirmation dialogue now the registry cleaning process starts and it only takes a second or so. After the cleaning is finished now, if you route the Jaws cursor to the PC cursor you can arrow up 1 time to hear how many items wer found and how many were cleaned. For example, if 20 items were found but, you unchecked 5 of them you should hear, 15 / 20, meaning 15 of the 20 items were cleaned. If you slected them all you should hear, 20 / 20, meaning 20 of 20 items were cleaned. Note: The copy of the saved registry file should be in your Documents folder. This is a copy of the registry before it's cleaned so, if there's a problem after the cleaning you can restore your registry with this saved file. Take care. Mike. Sent from my iBarstool. Go dodgers! If at first you DO succeed, try not to look astonished!
