Hi All,

 

Using Excel 2016, Windows 10 and the current version of JAWS.  I have an Excel sheet in column A I have the task a person must perform.  In Column B I will answer yes or no if they can perform the task.  Here is my issue, I want to create a formula at the bottom of column B to determine if they answered yes to 80% of the questions.  I would greatly appreciate your assistance!

As far as I’m aware there isn’t, but if it’s an issue particular to JAWS you can always bring it up on this list. Plenty of Wordpress users here.

At wordpress.com, there is an accessibility support group.  However, I have found it nonresponsive and inactive.  So, I am wondering if there is some other support group for accessibility issues such as using a screen reader with WordPress?

 I have a Dell laptop, get the same issue, actually there is nothing on the screen and nothing to clear. We both always takes this away and it has something to do with Dell proprietary software.

That may work for you, but if I were to follow your advice not knowing that for some of my work applications I need the accessibility display driver I would seriously break my system and I would then have to do a Jaws repair or reinstall to fix it. It is one thing to explain what you do and what works for you, but you should do so with a warning that this may have negative effects for others, the accessibility display driver was used for a long time and while Vispero is trying to get away from it, there is a reason why it's not yet gone or even unchecked by default.

It gets reinstalled during a jaws repair so it's not too bad to get it back. I always get rid of mine on windows 10 and have yet to face an issue.

Ok, try getting rid of the Accessibility Driver. You can either turn it off in JAWS Settings Center or uninstall it completely from "Programs and Features".

I just opened Power Shell (Admin) from the Windows + X menu and
typed ipconfig to display my computer's IP configuration and I can
read this with the Jaws cursor.

I want to be able to use powershell, so I am not sure what you mean,
the only thing I see in properties (using powershell) is one
checkbox to toggle legacy console features. However, my problem
appears in both powershell and regular cmd.

Hi. At least with version 1809, jfw will not read anything in the
command window if run as administrator. If I virtualize the
window, I see the text, but other wise nothing -- jaws cursor
reads nothing as well. Tech support says its not supported, but
that makes no sense to me and Narrator reads it fine.

Yes, you can use JAWS commands to mark blocks of text. All screen readers have this capability now.

 

In the forthcoming book Windows Keyboard Power User Guide, which should actually finally appear in the next couple weeks, I show you how to create a better set of keystrokes to do this, but until then:

 

Go to the beginning of the block you want to set and press ctrl+windows+K.

 

Go to the end of the block and press Jawskey+space, M.
