Jay,
As an aside, if you actually log in to Google Chrome itself, you will automatically be logged in to the Chrome Hangouts App using the same account when you activate the control to bring up the window. I can't recall the last time I logged in to the Hangouts App since I'm always logged in to Chrome itself. -- Brian - Windows 10 Pro, 64-Bit, Version 1809, Build 17763 Here is a test to find out whether your mission in life is complete. Jay <jcoffin@...>
Hi.
I find if you have forms mode set to manual, then navigate to where you want to go that works just fine. As for getting the app to start so you can sign in, the best way is to switch on touch navigation, press right arrow until you hear google hangouts, then press enter. then press the plus key on the numpad to switch back to pc mode, then type your username and password to log in. When you get to the main hangouts window press c until you hear conversations list box, then press enter. You can navigate through your list of conversations by pressing either up or down arrow keys. When you hear the conversation you want, press enter and you will be taken to that particular conversation. When you want to switch conversations, as far as I am aware there is no particular way to do this while keeping the active conversation open, so press escape to close that conversation window, then repeat the steps to get to the new conversation you want to view. Press c to get to the conversations list box, press enter and arrow to the conversation you want then press enter. Hope this helps, and if you have anymore questions, feel free to write back.
Jay.

Re: google hangouts with jaws 19
William,
I have been playing with the Hangouts App using NVDA with a combination of traditional and object navigation, the latter of which is the equivalent of the touch cursor in JAWS if memory is serving. I still don't have the hang of it entirely, but I do know that once I get to the conversations list I have to change mode to move "person by person" or "conversation by conversation" down that list. But right now, once I transition to the actual messages list for a conversation I can get them to read, but I cannot seem to transition back to the conversations list for love nor money. Someone who uses JAWS with the Hangouts App will need to speak to the issues with JAWS and the App and navigating it directly. -- Brian - Windows 10 Pro, 64-Bit, Version 1809, Build 17763 Here is a test to find out whether your mission in life is complete. Hi Brian, I have installed the plugin for google chrome. Jaws is no speaking the incomming tekst of a new message so this is a good step forwards. It would be nice if I can find a kind of list where the history of the incomming messages is shown. And it would be great if i could reply (and start a new conversation from there. Hi!
I am using Windows 7, Jaws 2019 and Firefox - all with the latest updates. In firefox, I already have installed the plug-in that makes a sound when a download is *completed*. However, I wish I could have some sort of a progress announcement dialog *as the download is happening* too. Can that be done?
Thanks, Richard

Re: scrolling with Jaws cursor
David Moore
Hi! The JAWS cursor moves the mouse pointer, and you can not scroll the mouse pointer. What a sighted person does, and we have to do the same, is to scroll the web page. Just press page up and page down to scroll the web page, and you will be able to read more text with the JAWS cursor. The JAWS cursor is restricted to the current screen, because that is the way the mouse pointer is! David Moore

Could someone tell me how to get the Jaws cursor to scroll to the next page while on the Internet. The text I am trying to read will not read with the PC cursor so I route the Jaws cursor to the PC cursor to read it but I get to the bottom of the page and I can't get the Jaws cursor to go to the next page or screen. Re: Please help me learn how to paste scripts into JAWS 19 on Windows 10
muhammadBilal Arshad
its pretty much simple. do the following:
1. press windows+r to open up the run dialogue box and type there exactly: %appdata% 2. file explorer will open browse to: freedomscientific\jaws\jawsVersion(e.g2019)\settings\language(e.g enu) 3. paste there. note: for current user account only.

Re: Please help me learn how to paste scripts into JAWS 19 on Windows 10
Steve Matzura
Scripts go here:
%AppData%\Roaming\Freedom Scientific\JAWS\xxx\Settings\lll
You can start by copying all the files belonging to the script(s)
to the clipboard in the usual way, then open the Run dialog with
Windows Key plus R, type appdata, and press ENTER. After that, just
choose the cited directories as you go, and paste your script(s)
in the language-specific directory. Close the windows when you're
done with them.
where 'xxx' is the version of JAWS in which you want to use the scripts, and 'lll' is your local language designation, e.g., enu.
Been that way forever, regardless of Windows version.

Hi,
I have downloaded and extracted some scripts for JAWS. I haven’t done this on Windows 10 before, and my memory from Windows 7 is either failing me or it is different in Windows 10 than it was in Windows 7.
How do I get to the place to paste the scripts? A step by step would be most appreciated.
Best, Keith

Spell checker comes in multiple languages. I did hire someone years ago to help with my website and we spent 80%of the time fixing the obvious grammatical and spelling mistakes. How you come across to the public means a lot. Would you hire someone to take out your garbage if they came wearing a suit? Likewise, if you hired a limo to take you to a high society event and the driver came with apparel that looked like it had been slept in or dragged through the mud as well as the limo filthy, would you want to utilize that service? If that person’s first language is not English then his language skills have nothing to do with his knowledge of Wordpress.

There is a face book group for word press users and the moderator offers to help people with issues. Keep in mind he does this for a price and, for me , personally when he responded to my request, his spelling and grammar was less then satisfactory. Thus, I thought if he puts the same amount of effort into building a website using word press as he does writing correspondence, I am not sure his work would be up to par and worth the money he would charge. .

Hey guys,
OK, so something very stranger happened today. I'm running the latest jfw, and i got home and booted up like usual. I have a dropbox icon on my desktop. When i hit it, it said, dropbox desktop beta, and it doesn't appear to be too friendly. Did anyone else have this happen? Up until now, i would hit the icon and i could just arrow through folders. Now it looks like a royal mess. Any ideas? Cheers, Jed
