Hi,

I'm using JAWS 2019 latest Build, with Office 365/Excel 2016/2019 on a Windows 10 system.

Hope this helps.

Hello Listers:
I hope someone can answer this one:
Does anyone know where to change the setting so that when you are moving through a document by headings whether on the web or in a document that when you get to the last heading it doesn't wrap back to the top?
If someone could point me to where to make this change, I would be greatful for your help.

now i have a problem with copying new password from webmail to notepad?

Hi list members, what I don't understand is why I can't copy a password from web mail to notepad? I tried to copy the password but when I tried to paste it, I noticed that nothing had been copied? Is there another way that I can perform the same action and get the results that I wanted?

From: main@jfw.groups.io I browsed my computer for the the video file then I hit enter on MP3 then press the download button and I got my MP3 file as a download. It played fine. HTH<main@jfw.groups.io> On Behalf Of Marty Hutchings

This is not an advisory.  I don’t know why that is in the subject.  I just hit Enter on the New Topic link at the end of these messages.

Re: Changing Character set in which Thunderbird emails are composed

This is achieved via the Display Options, of all things, rather than the Composition Options, which is where I'd expect it.

1. ALT+T, O,O then hit enter - Bring up Tbird menu, Options, the "Options" option.
2. Right or Left Arrow until you have focus on the Display options.
3. Gain focus on the Formatting tab (which should have focus by default) then navigate to the Advanced button (only one, and related to font) and activate it.
4. The Text Encoding section has two items:  Outgoing Mail (direct access to the dropdown, ALT+U) and Incoming Mail (direct access to the dropdown, ALT+I, which seems inconsistent about working, but it's right after the Outgoing Mail dropdown)

You have to select from the list of encodings available for each to set what you want as the default, then navigate to the OK button to begin OK-ing your way back out through the various settings panes.

Changing Character set in which Thunderbird emails are composed

Bill White <billwhite92701@...>

Hi. I am asking this question for a friend who uses the Thunderbird email program. How does one change the character set in which email is composed either from unicode to iso-8859-1 or the reverse? I don’t use the program, so I would need to know exactly where to tell him to navigate in the options to change the character set.

Thank you.

Re: Help With Google Drive

Hi,
Try the download direct from Google Drive rather than using the Google browser. Even after download you may have quirks, it is not perfect but most times works with JAWS. Sounds like you are having download problems rather than a JAWS conflict.
Use www.google.com/drive

Hope this works.

Hi good people:
I've been having problems for some time now, trying to get google drive working on my computer.
I've downloaded the program several times, but I get the same result.
The problem is that when I attempt to launch google drive on my computer after download and installation, it just doesn't open.
After a long time of waiting for it to launch, I get a feedback saying "welcome to backup and sync not responding."
I've always downloaded the program using the google chrome data browser.
Please does anyone know of a solution to this problem?
I hope the problem is well understood.
Hope to read a response and a solution.

Download the jaws installer then run a repair by starting the install and selecting repair jaws.

Control Shift S will slow speech. Control Shift N will return it to normal. Control Shift G will speed it up. These are Windows keystrokes, not JAWS.

Re: Accessible DJ software for Windows

Steve Matzura

I'd reverse that. That way you won't get any Windows noises, and those sound devices are sometimes noisy and make weird sounds all on their own. The USB devices are generally much quieter, unless of course the computer that's powering and feeing them is noisy. I've heard some USB devices that make this annoying motorboat noise, some that have a whistle, etc., and it's always the computer that causes it. Try the device in a different machine, and it gets nice and quiet like it should be.

Marty,

Sounds like you need a way to hear JAWS in a headset and have your music and mic going through the speakers for the party.  Do you have a USB audio mixer or perhaps, some other USB audio device like a mixer or wireless headset?  Then you could send JAWS through that device so only you would hear it and have your music playing through Winamp using the other audio device connected to your amp.

Are you talking about for hosting a live music event or  a broadcast automation software?  For the live event Winamp, which is free and has extensive JAWS scripting from Freedom Scientific, should work well.

For broadcast or webcast Station Playlist Studio.  This program works well with JAWS but there are scripts from Brian Hartgen which add some additional functionality and efficiency.

I have saved the drivers for future reference as needed.

And, as I indicated before, I'm going to invest in a USB headset as an additional way to deal with this ongoing issue.

I truly appreciate all the help you and others on the list have provided.

Hi Tom. I am glad that you have resolved this issue, at least for now anyway. Windows 10 releases updates all the time, so you may want to keep the drivers handy just in case. I have never noticed USB headset sounds being impacted by Windows 10 updates, although, maybe I have been lucky. I'm hopeful that you get more than just a few days of relief rom this issue.
