Hi All,
I am trying to help out a friend who has just started using JAWS 2019 on a laptop with laptop keyboard layout and with Office 2016, and I have a few questions they have asked which I couldn't find the answer to. I hope you do not mind me posting here.
Thank you in advance.

Re: G-Mail: Move An Email to a Label
Now that I'm back on my computer where I can snag this information easily, the following may prove useful to you:
Creating IMAP Labels (Folders) and Filters for Gmail and, some other potentially helpful bits for other situations: Mass Selection and Deletion of Gmail Messages via the Gmail Web Interface Deleting an Unwanted Auto-Fill Contact or Contacts in Gmail Exporting Contacts from Gmail -- Brian - Windows 10 Pro, 64-Bit, Version 1809, Build 17763 The problem with values voting is that it completely puts to the side or totally obviates past performance, the effectiveness of policies proposed, intelligence and judgment — you know, the qualities that actually matter for someone who wants to lead the free world. ~ Zareh Delanchian

Re: G-Mail: Move An Email to a Label
Are you asking about creating a Gmail filter via the Gmail web interface?

G-Mail: Move An Email to a Label
Elise Berkley
Hello, everyone.
I have created a label (folder) in g-mail so I can keep the JFW digests. Does anyone know how to do this? I did it one time for another label that I created, but it is not working for my JFW digests. Thanks for any help. JAWS 18.1811.2 Windows 10 Elise

Re: keyboard shortcut question

Hi Zel,
Highlight / select the desktop icon
but, do not press enter. With the desktop icon highlighted press the, F2
key. Pressing the, F2 key, puts you in edit mode. Now edit / rename
the icon and when finished press, Enter, to save the change.
Take care. Mike. Sent from my iBarstool. Go Dodgers! I don't know the key to success, but the key to failure is trying to please everybody.

Re: keyboard shortcut question

this happens most of the time because the installation will overwrite the old icon.

Re: Can you fill down a series in Excel?
Mario
Sally, not knowing which version of Excel (but I don't think it really
toggle quoted messageShow quoted text
matters), try this: start by typing 1 for cell a1, 2 in a2, and 3 in a3. then select the cells you want to have the auto fill done, e.g. a1 thru a10. then you can tell it to auto fill by pressing alt, h, f, i, s. Shift+Tab to where it says linear and then press up arrow to auto fill and press enter. if you want to auto fill in a row, start by typing 1 in a1, 2 in b1, and 3 in c1. select the cells to auto fill, a1 thru j1. press alt, h, f, i, s, shift tab to linear and up arrow to auto fill, shift tab and up arrow to row, and press enter. alternately, strings can be typed instead of numbers in the first 3 cells, monday in a1, tuesday in a2, wednesday in a3, and follow the steps above.

Hello, There are some folks on another mailing list saying that they’ve been experiencing serious troubles with jaws 2019.1904 and windows 10. They say the problems started after the last couple of windows updates, particularly the update released on may 3. Among the problems, they remark jaws not reading clipboard history, jaws not reading properly windows 10 settings, and sluggishness of the screen reader, specially when typing.
As far as I recall, I don’t remember no one here reporting those problems, but I could be wrong. However, I use jaws 2019.1904, and I installed those same windows updates but everything went smooth sailing for me after that.
Does anyone here know something about it?

Request for You Local Folks Here in California
Rick Miller
Every Friday morning the traffic reporter on channel 2 KTVU, Sal Castinada, selects a particular musical theme, such as songs by a particular artist, band, or just a theme, and asks everybody using social media to submit their requests. I use Facebook. Using JAWS I have located Facebook then KTVU’s Facebook page, but then I have never been able to submit a request because I don’t know where to look. After locating the Facebook page I have used JAWS to search for such things as Request and for Sal. I have even located Sal Castinada’s Facebook page, then sent him a personal message, but have a feeling this is not getting anywhere. Can any of you local people who are up at this hour of the morning try to locate KTVU’s Facebook page, then tell me what to do from there?

No sorry, you have to go into the view menue and choose the view you want, to get out of the header and footer view. I like the Draft View which is Alt w, then e.

Hi Rick,
Try this: 1. Press Alt R then t followed by d. 2. Use the up/down arrow keys to find the ‘All markup’ option, then press enter or escape.
3. You should then be back in the main document. 4. Press Shift, Control and Apostrophe simultaneously and use your up/down arrows to read the comments. Pressing escape or tabbing to ‘Ok’ should put the focus on where the comment is but you may have to go up and down with the arrow keys to get Jaws to read both the text and comment.
This link has some good info on using screen readers to access comments.

Hi all,
I have a Microsoft Word document that is being reviewed with comments added by all parties. I receive this as an attachment and for example, arrowing down, I hit the date line upon the cover page. It tells me comment and the initials of the individual commenting and the number of the comment within the document. For example, Jaws says comment abc1 then the date. Another example is within the table of contents, #10 for example is blah blah blah on page blah blah blah. The beginning of this line, Jaws says comment abc2 then the title of this section and the page number that it is on/in..
How do I find the comments? There is obviously something hidden, the said comment, but how to get jaws to read the comment? Hitting enter does not read it nor is anything seen upon the document, visually that is.
Thanks for your help,
Rick
