Accessible DJ software for Windows

Can anyone recommend an accessible DJ program for Windows that works with JAWS and is free or low cost?

Hi all,

Thank you for the help.

With regard to dialog boxes, for instance the pop up that says "do you want to save your changes" is a system pop up that is not editable, but may still wished to be spelled if the listener could not make out what JAWS has said.

Thank you all for the help with the rest.  I'm pretty new to all this so your help is appreciated.

Tom,

That's because they're one in the same.  Since the Realtech soundcard is the only one installed you could use either one.  Windows Default is an option, for lack of a better explanation, there by default.  In short both options lead to the same place.
Take care.  Mike.  Sent from my iBarstool.  Go Dodgers!

It’s really strange, because under sound card in the Jaws utilities menu, I have two selections—default sound card, and realtech sound card.  I can check or un-check either of them, and the change makes no difference.

I think I’m going to call Freedom Scientific and perhaps the Microsoft Accessibility Hotline about this tomorrow.

In my view, this is an issue that both FS and Microsoft need to be aware of, and I have a hard time believing I’m the only one experiencing it.

Again, the problem recurred after a documented Windows 10 sound driver update yesterday evening.

Yes, I believe so.

The problem occurs whether I use the Windows default sound card or the
real-tech sound card.

In other words, switching sound cards in the Jaws utilities menu does not
make a difference.

Hello Clare

Please find below some answers i can give:

1. I'm not sure about what you mean, but try virtualizing the dialog
with this key combination Jaws key+Alt+z.

2. Jaws key+f gives a seires of infos about current cell amonst with
text and background colors.

4. There are 2 different ways to go through tables in Word:

You can either use Ctrl+Alt+arrow keys to go lines down and up
(Ctrl+alt+Up/Down arrow), and Cltr+Alt+Left/Right arrow to walk through
columns

or you can press Jaws key+Space bar, then T. Then just use the arrow
keys alone. To leave this mode out, press Escape.

Jaws Distorted Speech Problem Has Returned

Tom Behler

Hello, everyone.

You may recall that last week, I had a Jaws distorted speech problem with my Dell Windows 10 computer.

The problem was fixed by uninstalling the Windows generic sound card driver and replacing it with a realtech driver thanks to an executable file from Mike Mote.

Unfortunately, my problem has returned, but in a different form.

My jaws speech is slightly distorted in the laptop speakers, and when I use headphones, I get stereo sound with a slight reverberation, rather than Jaws being in the center of the headphones.

Does anyone have any suggestions for solving this latest issue?

I’m using the latest build of Jaws 2019.

Thanks as always.

Re: Can you fill down a series in Excel?

Hello

As far as i know, there is no shortcut for this. You need to go through Home ribbon.

In Microsoft Excel, is there a keyboard command to fill down a series, such as day of the week or month? I am not talking about filling down a formula using control D or control R.

That works for formulas, but is not working for a series, such as January, February, March. Thanks in advance.

Thanks Mike, I thought it would be more complex than that. ☺️

Hi Zel,

Highlight / select the desktop icon but, do not press enter.  With the desktop icon highlighted press the, F2 key.  Pressing the, F2 key, puts you in edit mode.  Now edit / rename the icon and when finished press, Enter, to save the change.

this happens most of the time because the installation will overwrite the old
icon.
try renameing the icon before you do the installation.  like change it to
1jaws.
then after it is installed check that the old shortcut from the old icon is
still working. then delete the new icon and rename the old one back.

Subject: keyboard shortcut question

Hello group:

It appears that the periodic Jaws updates erase a couple of my keyboard
shortcuts when downloaded and installed while leaving others intact.

Does anyone know why this happens, and how to guard against a recurrance
with future update releases?

Sincerely,

David S. Pearson

Hi All,

I am trying to help out a friend who has just started using JAWS 2019 on a laptop with laptop keyboard layout and with Office 2016, and I have a few questions they have asked which I couldn't find the answer to.  I hope you do not mind me posting here.
  1. Can you get the non editable text on dialog boxes to be spelled out as well as read?
  2. Can you get JAWS to tell you what colour a shaded cell is in Excel ?
  3. We cannot get an email group to read out the individual contacts within Outlook when created.  If the group is opened and you arrow down through each contact JAWS is silent.  I.e. a group called "work" with four individual members of the group.
  4. Is there an easy way of reading tables within Word?

Thank you in advance.
Clare

and, some other potentially helpful bits for other situations:
Mass Selection and Deletion of Gmail Messages via the Gmail Web Interface
Deleting an Unwanted Auto-Fill Contact or Contacts in Gmail
Exporting Contacts from Gmail

Are you asking about creating a Gmail filter via the Gmail web interface?
