Hi John,

There is a software program I happened to find while browsing that may be
of
help to you it is called killer keys and has over 15,000 keys and works
with 100 programs. It automatically senses the particular program you are
working in and will bring up the shortcut keys for that program.

You can find out about it at:

www.killerkeys.com

It costs about $10.00 and you can try it for free.

Hi: Just started using jaws 13 and tried word perfect x5. It doesn't seem
to
work well to the extent that when I attempt to read the font size with
insert+f it reports an inaccurate font size at 15, when I know it's 12.
insert+It
also doesn't seem to respond to reveal codes. Any help would be
appreciated.

Dave...

John,

It's much easier now. Simply copy (Ctrl+P) the file you want to attach, go
to your message, and in the body, Paste (Ctrl+V).

Hello Londa

Well, I've never experienced this behavior with jaws and outlook2003.
I'm wondering if the jaws has gotten messed up, maybe through an update or
something.
Maybe it's worth a re-install.
It sounds like jaws isn't functioning properly.

Wanda,

Sounds like it's not connecting to the E-Mail account, and may be waiting
for some input. Does this happen every time you launch Outlook?

If so, I think there should be an Inbox Repair Tool somewhere in the
Programs list under Microsoft Office. Perhaps that can fix it.

Another area to look at is to go to Control Panel.
Then click on the Mail Icon

This allows you to set up the Outlook account without actually going into
Outlook.

I have a student who is running Windows 7 and using Office 2003. He is
having great difficulty with Outlook. I can't even get JAWS to focus on it.
I've tried alt tabbing to it. I've used insert+f10 and pressed enter on it
from there. I found it on the taskbar and pressed enter on that, but no go
there either. I even tried using the JAWS cursor to navigate into it, but
it lost focus as soon as I routed the PC cursor to JAWS. I can focus on the
menus that way, but I still can't focus on the actual message list. I
can't get it to stay in focus so I can even work on it. I did manage to
turn off the navigation and reading paines before I lost focus, but that
made it worse. I did manage to use the JAWS cursor to turn the navigation
paine back on in case that was the problem. That didn't work either. Does
anyone have any ideas. If I can't fix this, I'll have to switch him to
Windows Live Mail and hope to have better luck with that.

Yes, it would be nice if we could have something that either randomly or
systematically changed the "handle" by some stimulus or chronology.

But then of course all the spammers would use it to auto generate weird
names for their mail -- Egads! They already do that, don't they?

I use Windows Mail, and go to tools/accounts.
Then I edit the preferences on the E-Mail account I'm using (in my case it's

I just edit that field, press Enter, and then tab out to the close button.

A bit of fussing, but not so much that I let it spoil my fun.

Hi John,

There is a software program I happened to find while browsing that may be of

You can find out about it at:

It costs about $10.00 and you can try it for free.

Re: Vinyl-Cassette conversion

rixmix2009@...

You know, I have not yet tried it.
But back when I got my Book Port Plus, I remember that some others were delighted with the ability of that device to do just this very thing. To connect the device to the input jack, and the other end to their turntable and cassette players and to make MP3 recordings of their content this way. There is a settings change you make in the System menu, however where you change that input from Microphone to Auxiliary input. And if I remember correctly, there was a way to them put the recordings in to a daisy format or something to split out the content.

HTH someone.
Of course, best place to really get the skinny on this is at the APH website or on the BPP discussion forum.

Hi there.
You want to connect from the source such as a tape deck into the
line in jack on your computer, definitely not the microphone jack
because you will likely overload it with a line level signal from
stereo equipment like that.

If the turntable has a USB jack, by all means use that. If not, it
needs to first go through a receiver or preamp, something
containing a phono stage, whatever you use when you listen to your
records. That boosts the signal enough that it can then get sent
along to your computer.

We're straying off the topic of Jaws though.

Charles,

That makes sense. Hadn't thought of it that far.

Hi Ann & Dave,

I just installed Office 2010 on my Windows7 64 Bit Pro operating system the
other day. I use XP on this dual boot system around 95% of the time so, I
don't have any experience navigating with ribbons yet! Well, I fired up the
Windows7 system just now & opened Word2010. It looks like that there is not
a normal view option. I invoked the Alt, Control, + N keystroke & it took
me to draft view. I somehow got into the view menu, & loe & behold, I
couldn't find a normal view option! Would someone please verify this? This
ribbon navigation is going to take some getting used to! Thanks much, take
care.

Alt-ctrl-n should also give you normal view.

Re: [Bulk] from field

Dave...

Kimsan,

Unfortunately it's not automatic. I just do it once in a while to amuse
myself.

I use Windows Mail, and go to tools/accounts.
Then I edit the preferences on the E-Mail account I'm using (in my case it's
the default)
Then in the first page "General" the first tab drops me into an edit field
called Name:
I just edit that field, press Enter, and then tab out to the close button.

A bit of fussing, but not so much that I let it spoil my fun.

Hi,

I didn't know how to word the subject line but after I ask this question,
the person who does this will know I am targeting him. I was wondering, how
in the world do you do that? Farfer on the job, farfer in the shop, etc?
That's pretty cool.
