Re: [Bulk] [Bulk] Vinyl-Cassette conversion

Chris Smart <csmart8@...>

Hi Dave. I'm not sure if it will do what you want, but nero bundle a simple audio application in some of their product suites, I believe called something like Nero Wave Editor.

There probably is no substitute for doing this yourself in something like Sound Forge, especially when it comes to noise reduction. How much noise reduction or click/crackle filtering you use depends entirely on the material, and too much of that will strip away some of the audio you want to keep.

Re: Vinyl-Cassette conversion

Chris Smart <csmart8@...>

Hi there.
You want to connect from the source such as a tape deck into the line in jack on your computer, definitely not the microphone jack because you will likely overload it with a line level signal from stereo equipment like that.

If the turntable has a USB jack, by all means use that. If not, it needs to first go through a receiver or preamp, something containing a phono stage, whatever you use when you listen to your records. That boosts the signal enough that it can then get sent along to your computer.

We're straying off the topic of Jaws though.

Re: MS Word & Jaws 12

Mike & Barbara <mb69mach1@...>

Hi Ann & Dave,

I just installed Office 2010 on my Windows7 64 Bit Pro operating system the
other day. I use XP on this dual boot system around 95% of the time so, I
don't have any experience navigating with ribbons yet! Well, I fired up the
Windows7 system just now & opened Word2010. It looks like that there is not
a normal view option. I invoked the Alt, Control, + N keystroke & it took
me to draft view. I somehow got into the view menu, & loe & behold, I
couldn't find a normal view option! Would someone please verify this? This
ribbon navigation is going to take some getting used to! Thanks much, take
care.
Mike

Alt-ctrl-n should also give you normal view.

Webvisum does work with FF 9.0. I am using the same.
Launch FF 9.0 and open webvisum.com and download the Add-On extensions.
Hope this is helpful.

While using firefox 8.0.1 I was advised to upgrade.
When I did, firefox said that they were not supporting webvisum.
I tried to go back to 8.0.1 but couldn't.
Be very cautious about upgrading until this issue is resolved.

Re: More adobe and PDF problems

Nickus de Vos <bigboy529@...>

I found out some stuff from adobe forums, they say the out of memory
problem is a problem in adobe reader x but going back to version 9
solves the problem so it's not related to jaws like I initially
thought. However I still can't read this spesific PDF not even with
OCR. It's not scanned that it says empty document, if I get any focus
it's just a bunch of random symbals and numbers. I unfortunatly can't
save it as a text document because I don't have adobe acrobat but
thanks for the idea.

And if that doesn't work, try the save as->Text menu option and then
read the converted file rather than the PDF, if the document
formatting isn't critical to what you are doing.

this? I don't know if it's maybe a problem with this spesific document

file for better accessibility. When I replace the NoteTab.jcf file with
that one, whenever I press a key, JAWS announces "edit." I've done a bit of
Google searching on this topic, and nobody seemed to find a solution for
either problem.

Suggestions, anybody?

More adobe and PDF problems

Nickus de Vos <bigboy529@...>

Hi
The other day I asked how to get PDF's with adobe reader not to open
in internet explorer and I got that sorted out. Now with this 1 PDF
document which is 288 pages, I open it, select read entire document
and then it loads. After loading all the pages it doesn't read
anything and if I navigate to different pages I get a error from adobe
reader saying out of memory. Do you have any suggestions how I can fix
this? I don't know if it's maybe a problem with this spesific document
because in the past I've read much larger documents well over 600
pages without any problems, it could also be jaws 13 because I
recently updated and can't remember reading big documents since having
13. If I can't sort this out I'll just try another PDF reader but
never had problems with adobe reader before.

I used Outlook for years on a previous computer and was quite happy
with it, though I never explored the calendar feature then. Now,
however, I don't have Outlook, and I've gotten so used to just using
gmail online for my email that I would probably only use it for the
calendar if I did have it. So I wonder if it would be worth the price.

Hi All:

Since moving from a PDA with MSP to a netbook with JFW, the thing I sorely
miss is an accessible calendar for tracking appointments, etc.
Any suggestions for something that works well with JFW11 or higher?
Thanks.

Cordially,
Tina C.

Chris, thank you, but please explain because I'm a technology idiot. Do I just connect from the source into the microphone jack or do I need a USB connection? Thanks.

you can do this with any audio editor, once you connect your audio equipment to the computer.

Audacity, Sound Forge, Goldwave, Reaper, Total Recorder, CDEX ...

Hello there;

There's a couple way to achieve what your asking to do,

The first way is,

1, start menu edit box,
Type default.
You will see/hear default programs press enter.

2, now tab and enter on,
Set your default programs link.

3, now arrow, or, letter navigate to the windows media player,

4, now tab and enter on,
Set this program as default button.
Hope this helps.
