Triple-Talk is a hardware external synthesizer.

Is the Triple-Talk synthesizer a hardware or software synthesizer? If hardware, the question is moot, because external synths work quite differently from software synths. If Triple-Talk is a software synth like Eloquence, it could simply be that Eloquence has programming which keeps its buffers from being overwhelmed in the first place. For example, I quite often hear Eloquence speak long strings of text. If this goes on and on without stopping, Eloquence will develop a lower and lower voice, then suddenly go back to normal, then start the voice lowering process again. I think this is a similar situation where eloquence doesn’t know where to make a break.

That sounds logical.

I wonder why Eloquence isn’t affected though?

My opinion is that this occurs when, for some reason, the computer sends all of its buffered voice output to the synthesizer at once, thus overwhelming the synthesizer so that an interrupt character cannot be sent to it.

I used to notice something like this happening with Vocalizer synth and certain websites, like the main intranet portal of my old work.

Since I switched back to Eloquence for most purposes I haven’t had this happen.

But since you use a Triple Talk and are still getting this (or something like this) issue, it must not be synth-dependent after all.

I cannot stop it, I cannot move to another open item on my task bar and jaws is simply locked as with the entire computer until this script is finished. Sometimes a hard shutdown of the computer is what is necessary for this to stop.

My computer is windows 10 64 bit

Jaws is 2019 latest update

I was using FireFox, this time not an IE issue but this also happens on IE, as well. Firefox is the latest version, as well.

Choose  the picture desire to scan.

Press the jaws key plus spacebar plus p plus f.

It will take a few seconds but the scan should complete.  Hth

I have heard of the new feature, but cannot find “picture” in the JAWS command search.  Any advice is much appreciated.

Hi,

  Yes, I have the same issues.  Recent updates to Outlook have improved but not fixed the problem.  Sometimes the reply designation works and other times no. Like you, have not found a consistent reason or fix.

I’m currently using the latest build of Jaws 2019 with the Office 365 version of Outlook 2016, and Windows 10.

Hello, I’m using Jaws2018 and Windoes10. I opened a PDF file and Jaws doesn’t read anything. I didn’t even get the message where Jaws recognizes the PDF and gives option to scan it. I tried to save it as as a MS word file and I get the message I can download the Adobe version that allows me to convert. I use to be able to convert and something happened that no longer allows me to do so. Any thoughts of what I can do? Thanks, Kevin

Hello All  I’m using jaws 2018  desktop computer with window 10  !! I need your helped on m.facebook.com website ,when my friend send me a picture in message box when I press enter on it it took me where it have the download  links on the page ,I can’t remember how I did to get when I’m on download links I press application key  to arrow up or down to see if I hear save  I don’t hear it aon there. What am I doing wrong in there? Does anyone know how to do it? If so please tell me what I need to do save the photos in picture folder ?

Have you checked in your Outlook settings to make sure that Outlook is set
to play a sound when an email arrives? I wonder if the Outlook volume is
muted for some reason in your volume mixer. You would need to check that
once Outlook is open.

Also, you may want to check in the Windows 10 notifications and see if you
are set up to receive incoming notifications. Just type notifications in
the search box on your Windows 10 computer. Maybe one of these will help
you get your sound back.

This doesn't affect JAWS directly, but I was hoping some of you may have

I had to reinstall Windows 10 on Sunday because it decided it would crash

laptop.



Outlook 2016 is no longer playing a sound when I receive mail. I have
checked Outlook sound options, Windows sound options, and I even made sure
Outlook was the default program for mail in case that was an issue. I've
even Googled to an extent, but nothing I've done has fixed this problem.

If you are using Adobe Acrobat Reader do the following:

1. Go to Edit > Preferences, the keyboard shortcut is Control + K

2. In the categories list arrow down to Security (Enhanced) or you can also press “S” 3 times to get there

3. Tab once and you hear “Enable Protected Mode at startup”, if it says this is checked press the spacebar to uncheck it. You will get the following message/prompt:

Adobe Acrobat Reader dialog
Disabling Protected Mode also disables Protected View and AppContainer.

For changes to take effect, you need to manually restart the application. Are you sure you want to continue?

4. Tab to Yes and activate it, then press Shift + Tab 3 times to get to the OK button and activate it.

5. Now close Acrobat Reader and reopen your document.
